She Waits.

Forever a captive
Bound by faith
To be alone
And for eternity to wait
From since she was born
She was groomed and primed
Taught all her manners
And knowledge of her kind
But never did she know
Or even could think
That she would be alone
For all of time
One day your prince will come my dear
And take you away
To a land far across the seas where you can finally play
And be a child
For of that you were robbed
And forced to be a woman
A woman to love.
So she readied and waited in her beautiful white dress
High heels and stockings
But hair in a mess
She didn’t want to be like this
She wanted to be happy
With shattered hopes
And no more dreams
She stares outside her window
Not knowing what to do
Doing the only thing that she knew
Be all dressed up and wait
But for nought
Because she was a princess all alone
Without a prince to save her from distraught.
