The Mira Celi

Missing image

When spirit moved among nestled trees
and glows of miracles covered the ground
limbs and branches reached into the light
as if to drink, leaves faded to night
like bare armed winter embrace
as warmth of a star came near
floating within pulsing billows of light

from deep within, the cloud spoke to trees
in voice soft as ebony earth
and climbed into inner place of strength
like the rise of life in spring, when the
loving soil sheds the gifts of living things
that went before;
and from air wind and watery tears of sky
a world gathered itself by spirit
and entwined the trees in a web of light

that bound by blood of family, the
touching of the roots that hold us
never to leave want in emptiness
nor lingering hungers unfed,
for the burdensome weight of existence
becomes easy; raised above
the fog of petty days and lost ways
resting upon the one meaning,
the power of love.

Congratulations on you double gold ...

for a magnificent poem, PK. I loved every word of spiritual depth and intensity.

It would perhaps surprise you, or not, that I did a poem on this star too, and that I actually see it as my personal symbol, name wise and nature wise LOL .... Do NOT ask me for a link, but it is somewhere out there ... on AP. I shall try to locate it.

    Love
    Myra

      Lynda-
Thank you for your kind words, and for hosting your milestone contest, having done far fewer contests...I appreciate the work needed to do this well, with interest and creativity... and then I look at the works that have been inspired...so many remarkable occasions when some writer has found a memorable moment, and a pen...so for so many wonderful things you have so selflessly done to help me and other writers of AP...thank you so much...PK

That is, arguably, the most beautiful piece of poetry, I read here on AP. It has well chosen words, imagery; it has depth, soul; it reads beautifully. My favourite part? I would have to copy and paste the whole poem here, if I was to demonstrate what lines were most striking. An incredible piece of work, that reads wonderfully aloud.
    Congratulations.

Most amazing to me is the incredible sense of communion in these lines. The exchange, the telling and receiving, the giving. The imagery is phenomenal, even more than the beautiful pic. There is such an emotional build here for me, and that whole last stanza just speaks, teaches, assures. I am in awe.

    Your Mira Celi is wonderful!
The painting you show here is of something very serene, almost divine. The link between Earth and Heaven, maybe that is what Mira Celi is.

I didn't know that several authors have used Mira Celi as symbol in their work, only knew one, and now you.

Very peaceful and well done poem!

Think you are right, only one author and Mira Celi...Jorge de Lima and maybe his collab partner in the religious era...that would be two at the most, and i'm not sure they collaborated on this subject...thanks...h
