Guaranteed To Not Work

Looking... no... staring,
as if blank eyes represented passion
And you’re yammering on until my ears bleed,
so, the choice was not to hear more than the low hum
like one gets when the Wild Turkey is about to bite...
Arms wave with emotional winds;
like shreds of ragged cloth caught on a sharp edge in a hurricane.
The strength it would require for a good listen,
...beyond imagination’s imagination.
Your buzz saw attack continues,
relationship's forests fall and are consumed,
so that even a toothpick’s worth of hope can’t be found.
Finally you take a breath,
and I interject “I love you”
yea, that’s guaranteed not to work...

A powerful poem with so much truth in your words for so many relationships. Lived it first hand and as an observer in friends and family. You are right when you say it affects many others beside the couple going through it. Take care.

    Blessings to you and yours,
    Sandy

I hear you, Wade, and I surely agree, I have personally experienced some of it, and no, its not a pretty sight. Whenever will people wake up and get this thing right? lol

    Those words
    'I love you'

    only work on those
    that still believe in them.

    So, sometimes they do work..

    Just need the right gal.

1st see edited AN - somehow, my wife and I have managed 27 years together ( )
but I have seen this senireo played out so many times in the lives of some of our friends...its is almost as difficult to watch and pick up the remains as it is for the people involed directly

all we need is love... da da da da da (the Beatles)
