Spinning twirling falling flying
Chasing wasting can't keep trying
Holding onto what's not there
Speaking words into thin air
Breaking aching suicidal
Memories make my mind go wild
Letting go of past despair
Silencing words that took me there
Can you see me in your dreams
Am I in your memories
Do you remember forgetting me
Do you recall my begging plea
Tossing turning in my bed
Bible pages left unread
Scared alone in an unseen fight
Too well prepared to give up tonight
Can you see me in your dreams
Am I in your memories
Do you remember forgetting me
Do you recall my begging plea
Emptiness is in your eyes
Deceived the lost with all your lies
Wanting nothing but your love
Feeling nothing from above
Can you see me in your dreams
Am I in your memories
Do you remember forgetting me
Do you recall my begging plea
Can you see me now beneath
This world we try so hard to please
Do you wonder what's in store
Have you learned to live for more
Chasing wasting can't keep trying
Holding onto what's not there
Speaking words into thin air
Breaking aching suicidal
Memories make my mind go wild
Letting go of past despair
Silencing words that took me there
Can you see me in your dreams
Am I in your memories
Do you remember forgetting me
Do you recall my begging plea
Tossing turning in my bed
Bible pages left unread
Scared alone in an unseen fight
Too well prepared to give up tonight
Can you see me in your dreams
Am I in your memories
Do you remember forgetting me
Do you recall my begging plea
Emptiness is in your eyes
Deceived the lost with all your lies
Wanting nothing but your love
Feeling nothing from above
Can you see me in your dreams
Am I in your memories
Do you remember forgetting me
Do you recall my begging plea
Can you see me now beneath
This world we try so hard to please
Do you wonder what's in store
Have you learned to live for more
Author notes
I had a close friend who's mother abandoned her when she was seven, when she was sixteen her boyfriend commited suicide.. two weeks later she took her own life. This song is for her. I know it's pretty deep and probably depressing but the words just flowed onto the paper so I knew I had to write it.
