see that guy?

See that guy standing over there?
Catch his eye, oh, but do not stare;
It is not polite, and too intrusive,
you might pick a fight that is inconclusive.

Besides who knows? he might not be,
could be the clothes, that he is a she.
So what if it’s true, who is to care
why is it too taboo or so unfair?

Just let her be within her dream
if she is a he to an extreme.
Are not YOU living within some fear
someone will see through YOUR veneer.

And what you hide behind a veil
of some false pride or concealed detail.
At least she is being true to herself
in a way that is freeing, unlike yourself
so let HIM be the model to follow,
of what it means to live and not be shallow.

    This Is Powerful

Wow we all put on many of false front because of fear. I must truly agree with your poem for I to am guilty of living behind a veil at times. But I to believe in being true to oneself. Finding that deepest truth deep within is not always easy and I feel this person might be being real but truly has a huge dark fear. So no I wouldn't want to be him or her. I wouldn't even want to be myself sometimes would be the truth. I'm still trying to seek to find whom I truly AM. Such a deep thought provoking poem. Excellent write and so sincere.
    Many Blessings

Wow! This is a powerful write with a strong message! It is true that many of us hide behind our masks, and even change them depending on the situation. I also hear the message here that one should not stand in judgement of another. I like this message too because we never know what struggles another person is having, or has had in their life. Great message in this poem! Blessings, Patty
