Create

Only one obstacle,

stands in your way,

Not what you say or do,

nor what you display.

Fear alone holds

you back in life,

discard your fear,

it will lead to strife.

Feel the truth within you,

how precious you are.

Doubt is a deceiver,

won't get you too far.

Wipe the slate clean,

begin again.

Let go of burdens,

you will ascend.

Know that the truth,

is alive in your dreams.

Believe in the truth,

life is not what it seems.

You are a creator,

so simply create.

It is what you believe,

that becomes your fate.

    Amen

If all of our children knew they have everything they need to be great and go as far as their will and beliefs will take them just start by putting one foot in front of the other and know many fall before they reach the top as like all small children learning to walk but the child never gives up so what is our problem now that we are grown reach for the stars and they shall be yours

Your wonderful words are my inspiration for I still have this fear inside of me and I do have to let go of it. Reading this has helped me to realize that fear does hold one back.

wonderful words to live by which parallel my beliefs as well. It's how one looks at life that make a joy or a drudgery

I absolutely love this (and I generally prefer free verse). The message is perfect and each line flows gracefully. Thank you for your entry.

    Hello.

I would split that first stanza into two, it sticks out way too much compared to the others. This reads like a continuation/expansion on the words in your last poem. I agree with a lot of the things said in this piece, which is primarily on about fear, doubt, guilt, knowing the truth, knowing yourself, and belief in yourself.

Only slight thing is, the belief in the truth, and knowing the truth, in my opinion, one is a matter of faith and the other of knowledge, and thus it is no different from believing in god, and knowing there is a god. If you know, then you don't need to believe, for belief, like faith is a thing needed in the blind moments, needed where there is no certainty, unlike knowledge which is no matter if a person believes or not. Just my 2 cents. I wish you well in the contest.

    My regards.

    Edit: Superfluous word taken out.
