beginings

we all start off in life believing
as we come into this world
clean slate and uninfluenced
a world of magic and fairy tales

story books and nursery rhymes
are the first things that were taught
innocence's and naive
our world is small but wide

we lose these traits along the way
as we grow and learn
society tells us what we can't
and how were meant to live

other influences come in to play
experiences and friends
but if we could just go back, remember
could we save that side youth

I really relate to the following:
society tells us what we can't
and how were meant to live
Very good lines! A good poem overall (but some proofreading to do. If you want my help, just ask). Thank you for your entry.

First line: Change of to off. Line nine: alone to along. Great poem. Good luck in that contest!
