To Mend Shattered Glass

To Mend Shattered Glass

A proverb spoken by many before
By men come and passed
The futile deed to never succeed
To mend shattered glass

Crystal shards of razor edge
Lethal to supple skin
A puzzle never finished by man
One he cannot win

But I stand before this scattered maze
Pieces of portals gone
A mess to address, I must confess
Defeated by work undone

To believe that once it's surface sheen
Reflected all beauty and light
And as I look back, and remember the woman
Sweet sugar upon my sight

However the fingers' bloody tips
Shall never be the same
Mamed and scarred beyond repair
Blistered upon sheets of pain

Yet again I pursue what many would not
Bound to my stubborn will
Refusing to lie and let it die
Piecing together still

In pain and flood of crimson heat
Life flickers from all I've lost
Just as Jesus had given his life
To die upon the cross

So here I stand to build again
The beauty of its past
A solemn man laid to rest
All to mend shattered glass

    Sweet sugar upon my sight
That is such a sweet line, my dear. Just felt like sharing.

And holy crap, you've fourty-eight more of these to post!? Everyone seems to be writting more than me, these days.

In any event, this is another tasteful work of art from you, Justin. I can relate to how hopeless it seems at times, when trying to fix a relationship - whether it be a relationship you've broken, or a relationship that was broken before you met your partner.

As I said the other day, know that I'm here for you, okay? Sometimes, venting to a person is better than writting it all down. For me, anyway.

Yes, Toria I will take you up on that venting offer. I've been in tears all alone for too long. I need someone to hear my pain and suffering.

So let me know when you are online regularly. It would be good for us to talk again. It's been too long, far too long.

Let me know when you're free to talk. Hell, if you've got a phone number, I'll just call you. I don't care about the long distance cost, I'll find a way to pay it.
