One day, I was sitting in the park,
lush greenery hiding a rotten earth,
When suddenly, a square shadow, dark
fell into my lap, it became a burden.
The words Death Note scrawled on shabby cover,
Made me want to laugh till I opened inside,
A notebook of death made me want to blubber,
to laugh, until I scrawled a name.
"The person whose name is written in this note shall die"
40 seconds later, I heard a cry,
A rival, a stupid enemy of mine,
hunched over, heart attack, a death so benign.
I became Kira reborn, to finish the job,
Set down by Light Yagami many years before,
I set out to find him, and rob
little Near of the life he had taken and more.
With Ryuk beside me I hunted him down,
At the orphanage where he resided, and scrawled,
Death by drowning, with Shenigami eyes,
40 seconds later, he drowned, and died.
Misa Amane, still a young little broad,
Came to me, and I gave her back her life,
Together, we took over the broad horizon,
Ridding this rotten world of crime and strife.
Light Yagami's dream had finally come true,
And Misa Amane, now happy, sings a new tune.
Kira, and Kira II, happily married,
Begin a long life, no criminal spared.

Based off of Death Note...and it's kind of the way I wish the series would have ended...with the death of Near instead of Light.

Death note is awesome. Not just the show/comic, but the book itself. Who wouldn't want a death note that they can get rid of their enemies with? I can't think of a single person who wouldn't take advantage of it. haha. Anyways, I liked your take on the story. Although I quite liked the ending, yours works if you're on the other side of the spectrum. I myself am an L supporter so I wanted Light to pay...

OMG! I want that book too! I loved this
I especially love the death note lol but who doesn't? I wanna write a lot of names in it... and like the other guy, my own, as the last one. Revenge for my past, and revenge for my future, death, not the end, but a beginning, of the end. lol I dunno... just random thoughts. Great job luck in the contest =) 2 days before my school gets back in session xD
