Broken Images (A Rictameter)

broken
mirror's image
shadows of memory
hear the echos of our lost love
haunting all my night's dreams, every second
apparitions hiding away
seeking my destruction
my life is just
broken

    Outstanding

Another complex form that you have mastered. This poem is quite intense with well-chosen language and some intense imagery. Very much a pleasure to read.

Have never heard of a word bank for rictameters - very unusual. Liked what you did with the words - once one gets used to this form, they use it very often. Like it.

This is quite a challenge, using a wordbank in the constraints of a rictameter. You have done a very nice job of including the words without forcing them. In fact were it not for your author's notes I would not have suspected that this was a word bank poem. I might suggest some punctuation to let the reader know when to catch a breath (perhaps after image, love and destruction.) Good luck in this contest. Peace, Liz

mmmm I think you're going to be a poet I visit often. I like this Rictameter, and I really like how you used the word bank. It comes together in a nice little story about love that is all too familiar.
