Phoenix

Ra wills it.
Cast off shadow!
A thousand passing leaves,
blanket the soul, alight, a life;
entombed.

Come; Reap!
Forever the lesser.
Forever false beauty is the heart of man.
Let not be wasted, the harvest; alight, a life.
Bring Ash and Myrrh; Ablaze the ether,
a worthy forge. Regenerate.
Ra wills it.

Rout shadow!
See now the beauty; the truly beautiful.
Heliopolis, worship; the rising of a sun.
Ra wills it.

A thousand leaves begin again.
Reign, invincible!
A king, a queen?
Reign, immortal!
Alight, alive??
A fire,
A symbol,
A divinity!
A phoenix.

Author notes

A poem for the Phoenix. I would just like to point out that there may be some confusion with this poem becuase I couldent use italics, which may not seem alot, but in this poem it is kinda integrel.

    Wow, this is intense.
Seriously, I really like it. Your description and imagery burned a hole right through my heart, making me reread this twice more after I had finished the first time.
Really good job. (: Keep it up!
