As though Dante’s philosophies
of wildfire damnation
ignites too an endless blaze
within the emotional zenith
of heartbreak is rekindled.
Smoke becomes ash
ash fans into cinders
cinders transmute to flames
flames dominates into hades
while evaporating these tears.
Tightly grasping
your hands within this warm dream;
I awake suddenly,
to find myself hold nothing at all, but ashes.
Crimson sways of fluctuating
flames, singes the edges of
love poems, now smoldering
before Lucifer’s domain.
Days, now without her love,
becomes damnation;
burning myself constantly in our old memories.
