In a world
Lost in fantasy
it's so easy to get distracted
From reality
Our world's expectations
are too high or too low
We get lost in nothing
And we don't know where to go
When friendships fail
And nothing is there
We suddenly feel
The painful tear
It rips our heart
Because we've been blind
We were lost in fantasy
We were lost without mind
But all fell
And only one thing remained
God was there for me
It's Him who explained
Earthly things will perish
And nothing will last
But only God will be there
Only God will surpass
Though I was lost
In my minds fantasy
I have now realized
That God is my reality

Amen to that sis! god is truly my reality as well. Even though I go through trials and tribulations on a weekly basis now, I know that my god can sustain me through every and all things! I love my Jesus with my whole heart and I'm holding onto him with everything within me and I'm not letting go if i can help it! Thanks Holly for this wonderful reminder!

this is a deep poem and very poeticly written, very good subject matter and your word usage is very powerful.your rhyming sceme and meter are off a bit, however the skill with which you chose your words makes this poem uniquely gripping and worth reading.good job

What a sad poem...just the thought of god being your reality. You have my deepest sympathy and remember, not all who wander are lost. You said it yourself I think without even realizing, earthly things do perish, but a fantasy will endure forever too.
