Proximity

Sitting gracefully in a dining room chair,
Eating your dinner in careful silence,
Your aware that everyones eyes are on you at the table.

What to do is extremely difficult,
When everyone is watching you,
waiting for a response to their question,
"Well?" Your mother asks irritated.

"I've made my decision, I'm leaving tonight. With My husband and kids."
"That man is not good for you and you are not leaving."

You stood quickly from the dinner table and walked over to your father,
The determined look in your eyes showed no fear whatsoever.
You towered over your father with a determined look that rivaled his own.

"You will not prevent me from living the life that i want to live."
"We are only watching out for your safety... this man is dangerous."
"The MAN you're speaking of has a name and you will call him by his name, hear me. I am now twenty years old now and can make decisions for myself."

You stalked out the door and to your bedroom which was across the hall and down some stairs, also aware that your parents are following you.
You pulled out a duffel bag and started packing some clothes.

"You're being unreasonable, Akari!"
"No, I am not. I know where it is I want to be and it is with my husband and kids."

You turn around to hear the door of your bedroom slam and a lock click into place. You run to the door and pound on it, knowing that you were now locked into the room.
A form appears next to you and you smile... but were totally unaware of what was to happen next.

"You can get out my dear one. Just use some power on the lock. Use your telekinesis."
"Right." You focus on the type of lock your parents had put on your door a long time ago. You heard the lock click and grabbed the duffel bag and ran quickly down the hall into the garage and got into a red 1987 corvette, and headed to the place where you could be free. Your husband met you at the door along with your kids. And you gave them a great smile and went inseide and closed the door behind you.
