Tranquility in the air,
birds are singing their songs of love,
somewhere in the distance a woodpecker
is hunting for bugs.
A gentle breeze stirs the leaves,
giving voice to the trees,
on the lake a trout is jumping,
looking for the insect that got too close.
Frogs sing of love to one another
along the banks in the tall grasses,
gentle wavelets lapping,
teasing the bank.
A look of nature beyond my window,
a place to recharge batteries
drained by living in the city,
a place where quiet and stillness
make me whole.

Merry meet,
Thank you for reading my work. This photo reminded me of a lake we camped near in Colorado. I just had to remember the sounds I heard when we were there. Thank you again.
