I see the cold night sky
Maybe this will be the last time
The last time I stare out
Wishing on each star I see
I walk around the house
Running my fingers along the wall
Getting one last image in my mind
Thinking of things that happened in these halls
I read the emails on my computer
Laugh at the stupid conversations
Conversations that seem to have no purpose
Knowing that some may never be answered
I listen to my stereo
One last time tonight
Become immersed in the thrashing guitars
They're all I have left
I scan the titles of books around the room
Some of my favourites lie scattered on the floor
Remember how I lost myself in them
The only way to forget reality
I do all the things one might do
If they know they won't see the next sunrise
I get ready to leave it all behind
But I realize it's not worth it
I know people love me
I know they really care
They'll aways be there for me
And things will soon get better

In awe!!
Your poem is beautiful...
I love this stanza the most...
"I do all the things one might do
If they know they won't see the next sunrise
I get ready to leave it all behind
But I realize it's not worth it"
In fact, I know someone who could really relate to that...
Anyway, congratulations on your gold trophy... You really deserve it.. (.^_^.).\/

I shed a tear. And a laugh. Thanks so much Steph. I appreciate it so much. You have no idea. If anyone else reads this and some how this poems wins...yes it was because of partiality. What are you going to do about it??? Nothing. So XP. I stick my tongue out at you...not you Steph but any others who read this. I like this poem. Just because it came from Steph and me KNOWING it makes the points go higher but if I didn't know from whom it came I would still make this a winner. It's how I feel and it's a little story of awesomeness. I like it all the way. Yay for me.
