“You be the Mom and I’ll be the Dad.”
Words, once so innocent, now seem so sad.
Whatever happened to those untainted days?
Whatever happened to our guiltless ways?
Fondly remembered, dressing in clothes
two sizes too big, and then we would pose
and look to a future that was filled with hope
with hearts just as pure as Ivory soap.
We’d pretend to get married as we played our part.
Those memories and feelings still live in my heart.

Yes.. what happened to those days!?
What's even sadder is that little kids are no longer little kids it seems.. they don't have these innocent thoughts.. they are wisened way too early. Sigh.
Great take on the pic!

awww...this reminds me of my lil man...he proposed to me the other day and gave me a plastic rose ring. He is gonna marry me one day he said, with tons of love...I am very proud to wear his ring...sadly I know I will have to take it off one day when he finds a woman... sweet poem...best to you in the contest ~blessings always~ Trisha~

Maybe its me but childhood just doesn't seem the same anymore. Maybe I am just an old cynic but playing mam and da sure was fun and we didn't need a Wii to do it!
Awesome write Ken

This is beautiful and sweet
those days as in youth
when playing dressup and all
