Quietly opening this door
You pulled me through the whirlwind
Full of deceit and magnificence
I ran so far and for so long
Yet I always ended up lying on this cold floor
Tears seeping from my eyes
I hung on for as long as I could
Staring straight into your eyes
Waiting for you to say I'm sorry
Yet you just smiled whilst you took my hand
And let me fall into the abyss
Such joy you found in my pain
As I traced the colour of tiles
The swirling patterns I've cried
As they mix and form such colours
Transgression from living to dying
You've broken me down to nothing
I begged you to hold me for a while
Faithful to your cause I stayed
Running after you with outstretched arms
Unexpected stops and pauses
As you pretended to love me
Whilst slowly you broke my spirit
It may be out of line to stare
But I've forgotten your name
And what your face used to look like
So maybe I shouldn't open this door
Maybe I should go back and hold you tight
But I've taken this beating with clenched teeth
And I've had quiet enough
Welcome my confession
As I fall into the abyss all on my own
With my hair flying past my face
And reality slowly passing by
