Campfires, Paintbrushes and Reflections

Missing image
Looking as in a looking glass mirrored by
trees reflections of glorious color,
I see through this many a mountain lake
of my childhood, at ten years old
fishing with my father, and many
a rainbow trout for breakfast!

Colors of the creek running by our house,
painted at my kitchen table in watercolors
of many the same hues come to mind, as
I look out the window of memories and many
years of enjoying nature, which makes one
feel so warm inside!

Glowing reflections of days gone by
shimmer on the surface of the water
while contendedness, and thankfulness
in ones' heart for the chance
to enjoy not only the scenery,
but the experience of such
a wonderland!

Author notes

How precious the memories of nature, of camping, painting scenes like this and remembering it all my life!

This is a beautiful write, capturing all of the special memories of place, and people, and sharing the exploration of nature at its best. Congratulations on the gold trophy - a good acknowledgement of a good poem and memories of a special place and time.

A great job of briniging out visions from the picture that are not so easily seen. Memories of our times in nature are some of the best for sure.

Very nice poem! I couldn't imagine all those things in the picture but reading what you've written and looking at the picture again, I can see it now.

    Good luck in the contest!!!
