A jacket sooner mended was preferred
to magazines upended, covers closed.
The clotheslines that were strung remained absurd
while jackets soon were worn out unopposed
by linen fine where great works should repose.
Inferior in textile and design -
a tailor shreds one cover at a time.

I am smiling with this witty and utterly charming poem. There is NO NEED to reference which prompt you used, it is more than evident in this perfectly executed Rhyme Royal. You nailed it!
Superb. Thank you for this gem. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela

I knew your brevity would find clear voice
in this form. Wonderful in both imagery
and message given. Blue

This is quite well done to the first prompt and perfect to the form. Very nice. ~Bramble
