Who's to say

Precious Young Lady,

Who's to say, when is the right time to fall in love?

Who's to say, when is the right time to give your

self to another?

Questions without answers.

Life does not come with any written directions,

[  I'm sure we all wish it did at times. ]

If I knew back then, what I have learned over time

I would have done many things differently.

But I am not you, and I learned the hard way.

It doesn't mean you will to.

You will be the one who will have to live with your

decision for the rest of your life.

Once you give there is no taking back.

So I say to you " follow your heart and trust only

your own judgment " If in your gut it does not

feel right, then it isn't.

I honestly think that fifteen is a bit young. But when

someone you care for and love is growing up right in

front of your eyes, it's hard to step aside. Yet we can

only pray that you don't make any mistakes, or have

any regrets.

Whenever and whatever you decide to do, is up to you.

But remember to always protect your self, stay safe !!!

Trust your life to no one. Please remember that.

Your body is a God given gift, make sure others

respect it.

Also remember that you have a loving Mother and a

loving Aunt who you can always go to for help, or to

just talk with, or cry with, and yes even laugh with.

Precious Young Lady, no one is perfect, we all make

mistakes and we all have regrets. Your life in many

ways is just beginning. Take it slow and enjoy the

journey. I wish you the best always.

Love Ya, to bitzzzzzzzzzzz.

Joyce

P.S.

Always keep in mind, that there is only

one first tiime.

Author notes

Female and 50+ somthing years young LoL

I realize this is more of a letter,
than a poem, I hope it is ok.

From what I know, you are one very strong minded
and smart and wise young lady. I trust you to know
what it is you are feeling. I have faith in you to
make the right choice for your self. I have and
always will have complete respect for you. Just knowing
that you are reading all these poems full of advice
and they all have different veiws on the subjest, you
are keeping an open mind, and I am proud of you for that.

I made a mistake, it does not mean you will.
I have regrets, it does not mean you will.
Nevertheless I will always remember my first love,
they really are special.

The things I wrote to you in this letter, are
pretty much the same things I told my only
daughter. However her first love didn't last
long after she give her self to him. But she
learned and moved on and everything turned out
for the best for her in the end.
Talk with him about all you learned here and share
some of the veiws from others. I hope I have been of
some help to you. Now go and love and enjoy your life.

    Hi Joyce,

The advice you give is always colored with unconditional love. I especially love the last sentence in your author note..."Now go and love and enjoy your life." I think that's all any of us can do...and if we get hurt along the way we learn from it...but hopefully still never regret it. Looking back at my first time I sometimes think/wish I had waited...then I wonder who else along the way it would have been...and that makes me believe I might have been wise after all.

Just one small thing you may want to change...S3, L3 "taken" I believe you wanted "taking"?

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this combination poem/letter to her...I know she has appreciated seeing all the different views this contest provided, but especially those who wrote more directly to her. Sometimes a young person needs an adult outside of their "regular" family they can talk to...and I hope she always knows you are one of the best...and I thank you for being a wonderful AP aunt to her.

What a beautiful write filled with some
wonderful advice to someone that you love.
Life is full of so many uncertainties and
twists. It makes it very difficult for
someone that is just starting out. Having
someone to turn to all of the time is
something that we all hope for in our lives.
There is nothing better than the warmth of
a hug from a caring friend to help you back
on your feet again. Simply beautiful my friend!
All the best to you in this contest!

    Twinsy,

What a great job you did on this one! And with such wonderful advice too! If only we all could go back in time, and know what we know now... Oh the things I would change! And there is somethings that I wouldn't have missed for the world! And yes, you know what I am talking about! Could never have missed out on that....*sigh* much to wonderful to miss out on!

Thanks Twinsy, I needed to be reminded that it was a precious time, and one not to miss out on.... You are the best!!

Best of luck in this contest!

    and love
