As long as I can remember,
pain, more profound than most could understand,
has been a part of me.
I sought solace in love and friends,
but after him, holding myself back
became my imperative
because I know what I do to people
and I know what they can do to me.
So I retreated deep into myself,
and hurt where they couldn't see it,
and smiled where they could,
and became the existence whose loneliness drew itself,
in the stains of a damp pillow in the dark.
And now you've come.
And though I'm still wary,
I feel myself opening like a morning flower
in the dawn of a thousand nights.
And after so long, I wonder, fearfully,
is this someone who will understand my pain?
And the walls quiver a bit,
and dust falls from the ceiling,
and the ground rumbles weakly
and I hope and hope and hope
that, like a hand held up before a candle,
you might be the one,
to offer ease against the wind and rain,
to show me, though I burn so,
the beauty of my own glow.
Please tell me what you think

WOW
the beginning of this is so sad and depressing, but then as it flows on it becomes so vivid and more positive.
Very great piece of work. -
