I can see it.
I can feel it.
You must feel it too,
this strange electricity,
when we're in the same room.
Our smiles are cordial,
as we share another's arm,
But are hearts are free,
and betray us readily,
forcing us to greet each other
in the truth of the moment.
Soul embracing soul
and we cannot be constrained.
I watch you struggle as I,
to take control again.
Spirit touching sweet spirit.
Our bodies dare not comply.
I fear this passion.
I cannot meet your eye.
I acknowlege your presence.
with my most generic smile,
And my heart quakes within me,
at the pain of goodbye.

I really really like the theme here and the fact that there is a story behind this, however, the poem seemed a bit too simple... like you could have put more imagery and fancy wording in it. Thank you for entering my contest.
