Fallen Angel

Brilliance, beauty, personality,
what more could someone ask for?
You fitted all the requirements
For happiness.

Yet, my angel,
Why can you not see yourself,
Through these untainted,
unmarred, eyes?

Your self worth is too low,
My heart cries out,
Every time I hear those words,
Cracks form, poison oozes,
From those two plump lips,
How can they be so cruel?

Your eyes look away,
Your ears shun my words,
Your mind refuses to believe,
I gasp out the truth,
Never inhaling,
because you need to know,
You are worth more than that rock,
You're worth far more than I.

Even as I sit beside you,
Talking after your fall...
Your leg in cast,
The hopes dashed...
But what you don't realise...
Only I can see,
That your wings were broken long before.

Author notes

This is a poem about my friend, whom fell from a cliff, and I have seen a her a few times...but I wish she would see her worth, which I think she has to before she can once again ascend to great heights.

Man I haven't written a poem in ages...and it really shows. T_T I'm sorry I couldn't make it better tribute to her.
