Ring Within the Knight

Ring Within the Knight

Three moons have come and gone by now
Memories upon withered sight
Reflected as I ponder and gaze
At the ring within the knight

Its shiny surface shimmers and glows
Black stars upon heaven
Blinking back in gentle rythum
The delicate gems eleven

But this is a symbol, nothing more
Of the woman who'd won my heart
A rose among lilies, a diamond among rubies
Precious from the very start

Now she is gone, divided from me
My beautiful shining light
Left to dream with nothing it seems
But the ring within the knight

I wish to know only the roots
Of this problem that ensued
To rebuild the foundation and start again
From scratch and the ever crude

The flaws are known and understood
This I was led to believe
But some ran deep beyond my grasp
Surpassing all I perceive

So speak your mind and heart alike
Let us resolve the issue at hand
Problems sifting through fingers
Like beads and grains of sand

But this decision is not my own
Not for one, but the hearts of two
So I wait in anticipation
To finally speak with you

Still I wait within this time
For what I wish with all my might
Praying to rekindle our love...
The ring within the knight

I don't know what to say about this piece, Justin. At first I didn't get the whole "ring within the knight", but now I think I have a small grasp of what this poem is about. Kinda' helps to read the whole thing first, 'eh?

In any event, if this is inspired by true life, then I'm ever so sorry that you're going through this right now. I know that we don't speak half as much as we used to, and for that I'm sorry. Just know that I'm here if you ever need to talk - my email and such is listed on my page.

I do hope that you get your answer soon, darling.

Thank you Toria, you have no idea how much that means to me. I feel like no one supports me in my pursuit to mend our relationship.

No one wants to hear me out. So thank you for saying ... its brought tears of relief to my eyes.

Thank you Toria ... thank you.

BTW, the poem has both a literal and figurative meaning. And as you probably know, I'm referring to the title.
