Poetry

Searching aimlessly for the same poem
the searcher seems to find solstice
in looking for their very own poem
Poets find there words inside other
poems. But in the search for this
Sense of enlightenment they write
another poem. This poem has a
different topic. For which they'll
soon seek again. It's their best
yet until they find it's origin.
Many poems stand the time test
but it's exact genre holds secrets
Nobody actually bothers the genre;
the genre like the poem is part
and parcel of the process.
One day this poem may become
packaged in an anthology
Or posted on the train
for travellers to read.
But no one really cares
about the genre. It's only
the poets desire to fit in
That makes a man
purchase poetry.
Poets in this sense
are free, free to read
Other poems.

But when the poet finds their own poem
It's time to write another. Poets sell books,
did you know poets sell books. Plus
Anthology's sell books to poets
Who wrote the book. You say you like
poetry. So do I. But if I can't find my poem
I smile and give three red stars then
keep on searching. Poets are just like me
they like reading. They examine the most
articulate phrases. Break things up into
mazes and hope to return back to the
conclusive beginning. But happy are
the wise and good luck to the eyes
that dawn upon this simple poem.
A poem that like your poem
is your poem. Poetry restores
that balance you thought briefly
about missing. Poets hearts are
like damp sponges, every now
and then they squeeze out
the final words. But what I
really love about poetry
is it is anything yet
means nothing.

Poetry in it's simplest format.
