Gettin back from school in tears
nobody knows this persons' fears
names and insults from every direction
searching for beauty and total perfection
girls forced to starve and go thin
coz all they wanna do is just fit in
on the news, TV and radio
tellin them how its good to be a size zero
bombarded relentlessly day and night
what should they weigh to make them look right
people at school laugh and make fun
so now she just cuts till the pain goes numb
over and over, seven days a week
the life she's living is looking so bleak
with no one to talk to and nowhere to run
she's worrying the sick out of her poor dear mum
she knows her daughter is troubled inside
but she won't choose her in which to confide
she's seen the cut marks on her daughters' wrists
but she denies anything is wrong when she's asked about this
she's being bullied by the media to try and stay thin
every meal she gets she chucks in the bin
there seems no end to this nightmare she's going thru
if only she knew there was people she could talk to....

So True
This piece holds so much truth to it. I've felt the same way. I'm not exactly the smallest girl and I've been picked on since I was little. It really hurts. But I did find people to talk to. SOmeday I hope everyone can find that out. There is always someone there. Nicely done and thank you for entering! -
This is so true. I haven't been a size zero since sixth grade, and I would never go back. I'm glad my boyfriend thinks the models are disturbingly thin. I love the rhyme, although it seems a bit unfinished in the end. And it should be either "through" or thru' in the second-to-last line. But the message is great and the poem overall is quite wonderful. Great write!

This is such a true and meaningful poem, size zero is disgusting. Im glad some male people don't agree with it. Also I love the rhyming! As you will probably tell from my poetry!
Well done!
