Only those with no fear of the deep can be so bold,
Crossing T'd black lines surrounded by ropes,
Hemp of the world bringing unity and hope.
Deep clear water, shining an effervescent light blue,
Athletes cross the length of this water in stride,
Their silhouettes moving across a limit of time.
Hemp of the world bringing unity and hope,
Effervescent bodies, crossing the length and cold,
Phelps, great strides bringing home olympic gold.
Their silhouettes moving across a limit of time,
Competitors race for each shiny medallion for home,
Bringing forth, peaceful competition, no war alone.
Phelps, great strides bringing home olympic gold,
Deep clear water, shining an effervescent light blue,
Only those with no fear of the deep can be so bold,
To face the dark T's and the bright sapphire hue.
Author notes
In case you cannot understand the form, Look up Stormgoddess and her column the Ripple form, this poem is written in that form. I hope you enjoy this entry of what the Olympics mean to me, I just used Michael Phelps because he's the most famous swimmer on Team USA...

He is a wonderful swimmer indeed! I must say I am impressed with how well he does.
You have penned a really good dedication and picked a wonderful form with it.

Great poem! I wondered if you'd use Phelps in this at all, lol. Either way still awesome!
