Prism to our Past

A humbling profession is
Biblical archaeology,
where people are found prostrate -
Searching for glimpses of Man’s history.

Forgotten souls and evidence have been
covered by layers of earthly dust,
as recent discoveries now include…
The decoding of Israel’s “Exodus”.

An eclectic collection of artifacts
of the “Hyksos Expulsion” have been laid bare
by Simcha, the “Naked Archaeologist”,
on TV’s “The History Channel” everywhere.

Proposed is a brilliant theory,
that spans a labyrinth of time,
while he employs computer graphics
to capture believers’ hearts and minds.

An unending excavation
of God’s Truth will forever last,
while we focus our attention
and gaze through… His prism to our past.

    Superb Plus +

I loved this one, I may not be a Christian, however, at least archaeologists have uncovered ruins of cities that can correspond to those mentioned in your Holy Book. That is more than can be said for one or two other religions, which I can think of, yet, they shall remain unnamed. I thought you expressed your thoughts quite well. I've always enjoyed reading historical novels written by competent authors who are well versed in the history of the country, etc, they write about. Most of the novelists, whose books I read, have researched their subject for at least 5 to 10 years, and maybe longer. Two favorites are Edward Rutherfurd: author of THE FOREST, ISBN 0-345-44178-8, and other novels, and also, James Michener, author of THE SOURCE, 0-449-21147-9, and other novels. I hope you have a good day.

Here's a two external links for those not familiar with either author:

I also saw a picture last night where claims are being made that the oldest church has been discovered...truly we are living in a most exciting time, most other things too, but, who's complaining? lol

I like the idea of the prism - an interesting thought. It's not nearly so clear as a magnifying glass but much more unique. Great job.

      About a prism...

A prism can be used to break light into many wavelengths - as observed by the "rainbow effect" when light passes through. By analogy, God is interested in the details of our daily lives, as an archaeologist sifts through the debris of previous generations of mankind. --Joe
