eggs smashed against the wall
music blaring from the radio in the corner
the smell of something burning filled the house
its everything i noticed as soon as i came home.
nothing changed since i closed the door that fall
when i met you, you seemed to be such a charmer
but as i stayed here, this home became a madhouse
i once felt your love, but now i feel alone.
memories came swarming back into my mind
blinding me from the true reality, and the future
anger had built up inside, it came lashing out
like a small child who did not get their way.
throwing anything my hands could find
drinking so the rest of the night was a blur
waking up to the sun in my face, my head full of doubt
safe in the back of my car is where i wanted to stay.
but here i stand in this old house
turning around and seeing the world clearer without you
sun shining as the road sparkled, the air smelling of wild flowers
its everything i noticed as soon as i walked away.

Welcome to AllPoetry
Wow.
Quite honestly, this is one of the most raw poems I have read in a long long time; you plainly express the obvious around you and in it's simplicity it holds a strength not always achieved in poetry.
An amazing expression of reality, strength, imagery and emotions; fantastic poem!
