Keeping Composure

with regained hope, i looked foward,
the miles were short, it was you i was going toward.
i stepped out of a depression,
waiting to see your expression.
wondering if you'd be the same,
if you'd still talk to me at your game.
wishing it to be just as it was, when we left,
a time i'll never want to regret.

i looked out the window as we arrived,
i felt as if i had just come alive.
walking down our real memory lane,
i caught my first glimpse of this lonely pain.
different people sitting where you once did,
denial came while my heartache hid.

promises and my heart fell hardand broke,
dreams caught fire and went down in smoke.
but in time i found i could love again.
i try to hold on to you while i'm now with him.

keeping composure is hard when i think about you,
you're the only thing in my life that has ever been true.
