Angel

One night deep in slumber
I came across a dream

Her hair was the color of amber
Her eyes as blue as the sea

In this dream I sat in wonder
Of such an angelic being

Knowing that when I woke
The monsters would rush up to meet me

Please god I whispered sadly
Let me ever sleep!

And be in her presence forever
Until the worms about me creep
