When I watch all nature around me,
I see a perfect balance is in place,
but when I look at the deeds of man,
I must really wonder about our race.
Man knows no boundaries,
as he interferes with all of nature,
in this world that we must live in,
we are the most silly creature.
During our destruction of the planet,
we need to believe in something more,
never realizing for a moment,
what all this beauty was ever for.
So we may believe in a higher power,
as the saviour for all our doom,
but simply all the dreams run out,
when we shall finally run out of room.
Blame is the word of the day,
it shall make the evening news,
but the reality of all the ignorance,
shall hardly entertain my mews.
Author notes
To complain about a problem is easy, to do something about it is only a dream.

This poem certainly has several strong points which it makes about humanity, but I think it feels a bit distracted and unoriginal. I think if you took one or two of these complaints you make and write a more in-depth poem, it could be very nice. The theme itself seems a little bit of a stretch for this prompt. That said, I really like the third stanza, and I think you did a good job with the rhyme. Thanks so much for entering my contest; I enjoyed reading your poem.
