frogs cry alone to a desperate world
sounds of life and fruitful expectancy
flies absent and birds perched at rest
no one sees darkness surround the moon
tendrils of leaves fall ever gracefully
passionate lies of life and so much promise
somber outlines form a country scene
always tranquil when the night overwhelms
only the screen-door to my heart is missing

The ending line really finished this well.
Thank you for your entry,
Best of luck!

I've seen your writes before, I think. This one hooked me from the start, all apologies to "Blues Traveler." Hell, screen doors can't keep mosquitos out but at least we get fresh air...Really, I can see the care you excercised.

Wow; this was so powerful and bursting with emotion.
You took the stillness of a picture and gave it meaning, life, and depth. I love how you ended it with
"only the screen-door to my heart is missing"
--Brilliant write! & very originally crafted
Best of luck & thanks for entering
