i could die for you
get into the swing of things and
shed a drop of blood or two
reopen scars and cut a little too far in
so the pain’s renewed
i could get truth a noose
and pull here, pinch there
to make sure reality’s just a little skewed

but don’t think i mind this attitude-
this shift of my longitude and latitude
because I can get into the beat of these
everyday feats and
