The Armour Evil Wants

I am the armour,
that all evil wants to be.
I am the thickened
that will let nothing in.

I have the will,
to kill every smile I see.
I have the power,
to crush morality.

I needn't my chilhood dolls
or parents from so long ago.
I do not need my husband,
who didn't bother with the garter.

I have the will,
like no other.
I have the loyalties,
with the flesh eating crows.

I carry with me the broken,
the dead
And the darkness.
For I turn my back on green and colour.

I am the shield everyone needs,
I am the thing
you shall never see,
I am the killer....of all humanity.

Author notes

I did as you said and had a really good look at the photo/ painting. I couldn't believe all the detail I saw.
Some of the weirder things I found when I really zoomed in were:
the garter,
The doll
And the bubbles. There were lots more but they were the three that surprised me the most. Apart from that, that picture is really hard to put into a poem. I tried my best I suppose. lol. thanks for the challenge.

A very dark tale you have penned! She does seem to be all those things.. a protector of sorts, but also a killer.

    Nicely done!

Nice piece of darkness you've penned here. There is a lot in that picture, you caught most of it. Did you see the clock, its in the moon if I remember rightly, and theres an hourglass somewhere to You've done a great job bringing it all in. Best of luck in the contest

I had to highlight to read this...you really should think about changing your text.

Apart from that, I liked "I am the thickened." It's a very unique and evocative phrase...

However, not a fan of capitalizing every single line...it kind of chops up the flow & looks very traditional.

    Good luck
