Dry desert tongues
Lapping up water for death.
Greedy mouth fills to the brim,
And flows over viscous with spit.
Shallow pools replace the wells,
That I once called your eyes.
Can you hear when I call you?
No, you stay where you lie
Ever drinking,
Chains clinking,
Your desire only gets worse
You push me aside in your thirst.
Tongue scraps on metal
Teeth knip at bones
No more left to consume
Crawl back within the womb.
Never satisfied,
You lick your lips
And eyes grow wide
Never satisfied
The light inside you slowly dies

A morbid and tragic end to the life of a beloved pet, excellent imagery used to enhance the desolation of death
