may break my bones,
but words
will break my heart.

Yes, The Power
of words spoken in whatever emotion can and regretably often do break the heart. A wonderful thought you have penned from a time honored source, giving it your own flair.

I just always heard the rhyme as
"sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words can never hurt me." But I liked your version better
-
that's true. lol.

Yes, the broken bones will heal, but those words have a way of hurting for a long time!

Really, I don't have any complaints! I think it is a nice little twist on a classic nursery rhyme that makes the saying more accurate, because words really CAN break your heart. Words can hurt much more than sticks and stones. Although it probably didn't take much effort, it was very cute. Good job!

Was it supposed to take effort? I thought it was just supposed to be something we had said that was worthy of being quoted.
