I rest under the willow
floating in the icy water
with rain pattering softly
against me,
the leaves dripping liquid pearl
in the soft light
of the full moon
ready to transform me into a
monster.
I scatter your ashes
like fine dust.
Now, finally, you're free.
I abandon the grey urn
where they locked you away
claustrophobically
keeping you prisoner
of the darkness
I set you free from
when I stabbed you
right here
with a knife stained with the blood
of its many victims,
all of whom were trapped
by the curse we name
society.
And to that curse, to them
my acts are cruel;
the killing of an innocent man
('well, we locked him away
for being mental and all that
but now that he's dead
he's worthy').
They don't understand.
They killed you long before you died.
