The old familiar is gone
And in it’s place
A strange feeling out
Of place
things are different
Something’s not alright
A change
From automatic to
Shifting to low gear
Stirring previously
Unknown emotions
Senses awoken
Fear of the unknown
Creeping up
Subsides
Calm
Into familiarity
Until
Change …

We miss what we had, though we had what we miss, we have to miss what we had, because
it went away. great write.~~~Artis

Thank you Artis! Glad you liked my poem. Your insight to the effect of change ("miss what we had, had what we miss") a circle forever to make us whole - liked the way you've put it!

Very good description of change. I wish I could put my finger on what was changing, which is the worst thing about change. I can feel it coming, know it is lurking very near and yet... I don't know from which direction it will come or what it might be... and so... to me, it often feels like a threat, even if it is a change for the better.
s and best wishes always... ~Genie~
