It's funny how someone who used to be your everything can end up meaning nothing at all.
It's funny how he can break your heart just by being too scared to risk telling you and taking a fall.
It's funny how your best friend can say they'll never hurt you and stab you in the back.
It's funny how people find your life so entertaining when it goes all off track.
It's funny how that boy that's your best friend could be so much more.
It's funny how your life can never go back to how it was before.

It's funny how that one mistake can drive all your dreams away.
It's funny how so much can change in just one little day.
It's funny how in the blink of an eye, your life can change forever.
It's funny how a life can end with one pull of a gun lever.
It's funny how one little car can end a life so quickly.
It's funny how the parents' faces look when their child gets so sickly.

It's funny how they tease her about her clothes and her weird hairstyle.
It's funny how she slits her wrists to make the pain disappear for a while.
It's funny how he finds out that he's having a baby with Kim.
It's funny how his parents say they'll always be ashamed of him.
It's funny how you're always supposed to be able to count on your own blood.
It's funny how they'll leave you forever and watch as the tears flood.

It's funny how that baby never did anything wrong to his mom.
It's funny how his life will never begin so she can go to prom.
It's funny how someone can spend so much money on jeans.
It's funny how someone dies from not being able to afford food, even beans.
It's funny how an innocent, little puppy gets shot.
It's funny how the criminals almost never get caught.

It's funny how she tries to run until her heart stops beating.
It's funny how it can't keep the following rapist's temper from heating.
It's funny how the little boy watches his parents fight.
It's funny how he sees his father hit his mom with the heavy light.
It's funny how she yells, "I hate you and I wish you'd die!"

It's funny how the next day she gets a call and wishes she could've said good-bye.
It's funny how his friends offer him some pot.
It's funny how in ten years, that's all that he's got.
It's funny how in the end, none of it's funny, none at all.

    After reading it, it made me think.
    alot of the points you made were sad, but those things really do happen.

    love all the ideas. it could be so much better if it was reorganized cuz the same ideas are kinda scattered throughout. i feel for all of it though. well done

    I agree with the last comment some breaks or stanazas would def. make it more powerful&much eiser to read. However the piece is good. Very true, very real, and heartbreaking. I enjoyed reading it tho. I love the last line GOOD JOB

    I took one look at this and screamed, "NOOOOOO" because it all runs together and I knew my attention span would run out long before the lines did. Would you be willing to give it some line breaks or even stanzas so it is easier to read. Breaks in between lines also gives a poem more power. Thank you for entering.
