One Last Smile

The rubble falls all around.
I run to your side,
searching for any sign of life.
You can't leave me like this!
I look at your frozen smile,
as the tears start coming down.
Your eyes are glazed,
all the gleam in them, gone.
Everything you've ever done is flashing through my mind.
Every joke, every smile, every tear.
Harry and Hermione are trying to pull me away,
but, I will not leave you, my brother.
I want to die, I want life to be done.
You were my hero, how could you leave me?
Please wake up! Please don't do this!
This family can't survive this without you!
Please, I'm begging.
Think of George, of Ginny, of Mum.
Don't do this to them.
Please, Fred, come back to me.
Hermione is sobbing next to me,
my hold on denial is starting to slip.
You really are gone,
you're not coming back.
The pain of that truth,
it's excruciating.
I want you to know though,
that I will avenge you.
I will not let you die in vain.
I will survive this, for you: my brother, my friend, my hero.
