It wasn't that you left
Or asked me to wait
But it was the day
That I realized
It was just too late
Normal
They told me
You were just
Putting things together
While I was losing my mind
Day by day
I watched you slip further away
Until reality struck
You and her
Here I was sewing
Myself shut
All the sand
All the dirt
Then the lipstick
On your shirt
I shuddered thinking
Of how much it hurt
So I smiled and said good-luck
Walked away proud of myself
For holding it all in
For faithfulness to you
Was not my friend.

i like this. it expresses the emotions incredibly well.
and it flows smoothly.
i also like the seemingly random rhymes. well done.
