Zeke's solid black coat shimmered in the night, as he wandered through the forest. He was pawing at anything he thought may be food, from falled berries to dead fish. He was growing scrawner day by day.

Jewel lay in the thickest part of the forest her white coat making her stand out, she was a bold looking she-wolf, she had caught a Rabbit and was ready to return home, a swelling of her leg evidant.

Zeke had pawed at the wrong bush for a swarm of bees gave chase to him. he bumpped into Jewel and looked back behind him the angry Bee's giving chase, he gasped, "Bee's there coming"

Jewel realizing the bees would be on them in a moment nodded and ran, "Follow me." she grunted through her teeth as the rabbit dangled between her jaws.
Zeke without hessitating followed Jewel.

Jewel ran behind a waterfall, the water glistened in the light of the moon, Zeke rather than running behind the water ran face first through it. when he reached the other side his fur dripped and he approched the she-wolf. "My name is Zeke."

Jewel looked at Zeke and narrowed her eyes but only briefly, "My name is Jewels, Why were those bees chasing you?"

Zeke looked rather embarressed, "well, I dont know what I can eat and what i cant, so i was pawing at a bush and i guess i hit there dens, so they chased me off"

Jewel let out a whimper and turned to her swollen leg, "I was bitten by a snake" she says simply.

Zeke looked surprised, "Was it poisionus?" his question was was full of worry.

Jewel looked up at Zeke, her voice was soft, "I dont know if it was, I killed it its out by where i met you."

Zeke turned his head. looking out at the water falling.

"I'll need a leaf from the firfern, it'll draw out the venom and relieve the pain." Jewel says, her voice in alot of pain.

Zeke nodded to jewel and set out to find the plant, upon finding the plant he brought it back and chewed some of it placing it on her bite, and pushed the rest to her to eat. Jewel ate it slowly and then ate a good portion of the rabbit. when here stomache was full she passed the rabbit over to Zeke. Zeke ate the rest of the rabbit in a few bites and laid down.

Jewel fell asleep as did Zeke after a while.

Jewel wakes in the middle of the night "mommyyyy" she yells

Zeke stood up surprised and looks at jewel. he walks over to her. hey are you ok? yawns.

Jewel : Jewels looks around crying. She remembers where she is "uh yeah I'm ok."

zeke : he licks her tears. Jewel whats wrong?he laid beside her and looked at her.

Jewel : "I had a bad dream" jewel says.

zeke : Zeke licked her face again "I'm sorry"  he laid his head on her back and closed his eyes,

Jewel : "My mother died in front of me" she says "I had a dream I was surrounded
by dogs and hunters"

zeke : he whispers softly, I wont let that happen to you, his eyes open slightly, he
felt like he should protect her and didn't understand why he felt this way.

Jewel : Jewel nods "Thank you" she says

zeke : he had heard the eerie howl of a hound from outside the cave earlier. and didn't want to alarm her. so he kept that to himself. he watched the water fall, wondering if the howl he heard was his imagination or if it was really out there, the smell of the water would cause it to loose track of them if they stayed quiet if it was real

Jewel : Jewel looks up "there's hounds"

zeke : Zeke looked at Jewel, no it was your dream trying to convince her she was safe enough to rest. she needed to get her strength back from the snake bite the howl came again closer the low bellow of it felt like it shook the rocks within the cave. the men yelling and shouting this way. the hounds picked up that wolf's sent. come on men! Zeke closed his eyes and stood up looking down at Jewel. before either of them could say anything Zeke jumped through the waterfall and howled. and ran off. the hounds howled and gave chase of him the men yelled "there it is after it don't let it get away this time! we have to kill all the wolves!" Zeke jumped over a small pond and crashed threw a thicket of thorns. his nose stung from the scrapes of the thorns. in the cave the sounds of the hounds grew fainter and fainter, and the sound of the men grew to dim to hear a sudden chacaboom echoed back to the cave,

Jewel : Jewels runs after him she must protect Zeke. She didn't care about her leg

zeke : Zeke lay motionless, the hunters retied there dogs

Jewel : She saw Zeke "Zeke...." she whispered

zeke : the hunters took his hind paw and dragged him over to the dogs, "THIS ISN'T ONE OF THE WOLVES WERE TO HUNT DOWN STUPID MUTTS", the man kicked dirt at them and threw Zeke into the bushes further behind the dogs. they turned and barked at where the man had thrown Zeke. "Come on you damn mutts I'm going to take you home and get you all checked out for rabies and get you deticked, and clip those mother fuckin balls off of each of you with dull mother fuckin scissors. cause you stupid fucks don't need them if your going to hunt down those fucking pups that cant survive on there own anyway"

Jewel : Jewel is behind the bush. She stays motionless while the hunter threw him. He fur reflects off the snow.

zeke : the hunter and his hounds left Zeke was laying next to the bush. his ear twitched as he sat up

Jewel stays still

"You ok?" jewels says

  Zeke couldn't hear yet the sound from the gun had made him go deaf for the time, he stood up the smell of gun powder over powering any sent of other animals. he was cut up, but he could see just fine. he looked around and noticed Jewel and limped over to her. in a loud voice he asks "WHY ARE YOU OUT HERE. THAT HUNTER COULD BE LOOKING FOR MORE WOLVES TO KILL!" he couldn't tell he was yelling

Jewel just nuzzles him and motions lets go back to the cave.

his body grew heavy and he almost fell down, when the hunter had shot his gun it had hit Zeke in the lower back but Zeke had been lucky it didn't hit his spine nor anywhere of unimportance

Jewel goes under him and using all her strength even her leg she lifted him on her back. She then walks back to the cave.

Once there she puts him down easily.

Zeke whined as Ringing loud ringing rang in his ears, he could still hear the hounds behind him. he barely had time to make judgment calls. left or right, hide or keep running. river or strait. the sounds of the hounds always in his mind. his heart was racing now. almost as if he was still running

Jewel nuzzles him "if you can hear me your safe now." She whispers in his ear

the ringing and the howls of the hounds and his heartbeat were all he could hear his eyes looked a little clouded. his ear was ripped

Jewels nuzzles him "your safe" she says.

his adrenaline hadn't kicked out yet. his body shook all over, he looked at Jewel trying to see her face. but when he looked at her he flinched away seeing the fangs of one of the hounds coming at him. the hot breath almost real again. he was panting faster and much of anything in his confused state. he shook and laid on his side

Jewel licks his wound "what goes on that" she says. "Mikoge leaves to stop the bleeding and nokiga for healing." Jewels runs out leaving Zeke in the cave by himself.

She returns with the herbs. She puts them on him

he panted and pawed at the air as if he was running,

Jewel nuzzles him and once again whispers "if you can hear me your safe....rest"

his paws slowed down. his breathing calmed down. he was growing tired. but his fear made his paws keep moving though he had nothing to be afraid of. he closed his eyes, panting still, as if he was out of breath. the ringing had died down and he couldn't hear the hounds. Jewels voice was almost hard for him to hear, but he herd Safe and rest.

*Morning*

Jewel lay asleep next to him

Zeke jumped up and looked around. he was back in the cave. his heart jumped a bit, as he looked around. it seemed so real maybe it was just a dream no it couldn't have been could it. he didn't feel pain yet, but the adrenaline had kicked back in when he woke up. he looked down at Jewel

Jewel wakes and looks at him "hay can you hear me?" she says.

he could still smell the gun powder, and the breath of the hounds. he looked down panting. and laid back down next to Jewel. he nods

"Stay laying down you were hurt pretty bad" jewel says as she stands up.

he looks up at her confused look upon his face. hurt bad? he thought about it, it hadn't been a dream he really had done that last night.

"Yeah the humans had you and threw you away. I don't think there after you" she says taking his herbs off to change them

he panted and watched her closely

"Try to slow your breathing ok" jewel says as she nuzzled him then went back to changing the herbs

He wondered how much she saw, did she see him yelp as the huge hounds attacked him, he froze with fear. did she see him flip around after getting hit by that loud thing, his breathing slowed, did she see as he froze when the one hound had him cornered. and the others were behind him. his ears laid flat. he had tried to help her but what if he made it worse

Jewels licked his wound which made it sting a little "I'm sorry I have to clean it" she says

he laid his head on his paws and closed his eyes. what if she saw him as a weak little pup. his eyes watered. and he covered his nose with his paw.
he sniffled, its ok

"You ok" she says as she put the herbs in there place.

yes. he rubbed his paw against his face and down along his muzzle to his nose.

"That was a close one your lucky Zeke. I caught up when the hunter grabbed and threw you. You would have never made it back" jewel says.

Zeke looked at Jewels and nodded, he laid his head between his paws and closed his eyes

Jewel : Jewel nuzzles and licks him "its ok"

Zeke : Zeke felt like he had just gotten in the way, *if Jewel hadn't have helped me from the bees we never would have met and i wouldn't have been in the way she would have left a long time ago*

Jewel : "I have to thank you" jewel says after some silence.

Zeke : in a silent whisper he finally says after alot of hessitation, " You dont have to stay Jewel, you can try and get far away so the hunters dont come after you, i herd theres a pack that will let anyone under 2 years join"

Jewel : "Will you come with me?" jewel says.

Jewel : "Im not leaving you"

zeke pulls his ears flat, "i'll only get in the way. your faster than i am. and your better at." he stops talking

Jewel : Jewel looks at him "im better at what" she says.

Zeke : he hessitates "my pack didn't teach me anything. nothing of hunting whats safe to eat." his ears burn with embaressment. "thats why i was being chased by bees

Jewel : "I can teach you" jewel says "when you get better I'll teach you. My pack taught me never leave a friend behind"

Zeke : "my pack taught me not to play with pup when there tired. cause the grown ups will attack you"

Jewel : "Not always" jewels says.

Zeke : zeke's ears lay flat, the hunter and hounds had come from the same area he did. what if his old pack was

Jewel : "Lets go back and see your pack" jewel says "with me I can try to explain what happened..."

Zeke : he whined at the thought. "Jewel? can we go see if ..." his eyes narrowed a little. "if my family is ok." he nodded

Jewel : "Yes but u rest for a day ok" jewel says.

Zeke : Zeke nods and curls his head next to Jewel and closes his eyes

Jewel : Jewel being smaller then Zeke wraps around him as best she could. Her tail over his.

Zeke : Zeke was fast asleep before tolong. his ears twitched as he slept

*three days later*

Zeke : Zeke curled closer to Jewel eairly one morning, on there trip to his pack, they had found a little den to stay in that night.

Jewel : Jewel was teaching him along the way. She woke up and stretched

Zeke : Zeke stood up and stretched along with her. he was growning leaner than when Jewel first met him, his pack was only half a day's walk now he looked at Jewels and smiled well not long now. he looked out the den and started walking towards his pack

Jewel : Jewels followed "ok" she was pointing out the different birds and where they are.

Zeke : upon reaching his old territory they could smell the rancid sent of death all over, Zekes tail tucked underhim. sent of blood and decay was all he could smell.

Jewel : Jewel smelled blood and went on alert. Her tail tucking in "be careful human smell is here" she says "watch out for traps"

a scurring mouse ran infrount of them tripping a beartrap. the mouse was fine and ran away startled. Zeke stepped back. his ears perked forward. i smell human's all over under the sent of death. his ears lay flat then perk again. the den isn't far from here. his eyes went wide the pups!

Jewel : Jewels looked around "get to the den I smell a human" she wasn't focused on the death sent but of the humans.

Zeke : he nodded and darted over traps that were set of by rocks that flew up as he ran. he passed a deer and three dead wolves, the deer smelled fresh and yet a hidden oder under it smelled of something rancid something not natural for this territory. he paid no mind to it and approched the den. a trap snapped in frount of the den, a pup within it. his ears pulled tight against his head. the pups only left the den when there mother hadn't come home the nightbefore. he sniffed the ground intensely. he carefully entered the den, the smell of death stronger than he had ever smelt, he almost gaged on it. he entered still, his heart pounding in his head. when his eyes adjusted he saw her, his mother. her fur bloody, here eyes crusted over and open. ants crawling over her. he let out a whimper.

Jewel saw the human and growled furiously. He shot at her but her speed made him miss. She attacked him biting him angrily

Zeke : a soft whine replied to his whimper. was it a pup? he moved closer to his mother and saw her, a little pup, here fearfull eyes terrified. "its ok its me its Zeke, i came home." the pup whined louder and ran over to Zekes leg, she was scrawny, none of the pups here had ever been scrawny. he picked her up and carried her outside he whined feriously. her little heart pounding. he set her down "its ok its not safe here. we have to leave.

th little pup yiped "bu-" the gun shot made both look, Zeke growled, come on. he picked her up and carried her threw the territory and laid her down beside a tree that was safe and hidden stay here, he busted through a bush and grabbed the gun from the hunter

Jewel : Jewel is latched on the guys arm. Her bite becomes furious. She growled from deep in her throught.

The hunter threw her against the tree. She jumped up quick and growls.  "Now there my game" the man says.

Zeke : Zeke pulls the gun from the man and throws it into a pile of wolf bodies, no fur upon them. Zeke steps forward growling. Zekes father runs up with such speed there wasn't any certainty other than by sent it was his father.

Jewel : Jewel goes for another attack this time knocking the man over with great amount of force. You would have never known she could do that seeing she is smaller.

Zeke : zeke looked he had thought his entire pack was dead, his father latched onto his thoat after Jewel had knocked him down.

Zeke's father quickly killed the hunter. he turned to Zeke and to Jewel his eyes full of panic, he didn't know who Jewel was but when he looked at Zeke, he started to cry, "your alive!" his voice was raspy, and almost full of joy,

Zeke looked at his father. then remembered the pup and darted off past him. Zekes father turned unsure of what was going on he looked at the small female and took off after his son

Jewel : Jewel ran after them her adinaline making her forget she was thrown against a tree. "Zeke wait"

Zeke approched the frightened pup and licked her. "its ok little sis i'm here." the little pup looked up the fear in her eyes making her look even smaller. Zekes father came to zeke's side, he licked the little pup,

"Zeke you cant save her, there is no female wolf with milk in the residing area's i've already looked." Zekes father exclaims

the pup nodded, she started to cry. "momma told me to be strong, and try to keep the other pups strong" she starts to whine,"but momma died and they were hungry, they started to leave the den, i tried to stop them, but those mean wolves attacked them and ate them, and sis was trapped and" she whines more and more. "and i'm hungry, and tired" she lays down her little body evidence enough to show how starved she was, it was Zekes youngest sister Lilla. he licked lilla's head

Zeke : Zeke pulled his ears back, and looked around wanting to at least introduce is little sister to Jewel, upon seeing her he realized she had slowed down alot. he ran to her side and asked quietly, "are you ok?" he licked her side softly, and helped her to the little pup and his father

Jewel : "I can help" jewel says out of breath and approaching. "There is a deer three legs ahead of here that feed me when my mother died. I can take the pup to her until we reach the other pack"

Zeke : Zeke froze, and looked at her, three legged deer, thats what made him stop to look he had never seen one before, he looked over at where the den was and behind quite a few trees was the dead deer and the three dead wolves,

the father shook his head, "humans killed all game here, even the blessed three legged one." they used her as bate. she wasn't dead when they tied her down, and she begged to have her life ended, so the three wolves of my pack that were the closest to her, agreed to kill her." he looked over at same area Zeke was looking at

Jewel : "Ok wat of the beaver 7 miles by the fountain where we stayed" jewel says

Zeke shook his head, "The beavers we hunt, and besides there milk will have dried up by now, there is no point going to them this time of the year."

the little pup looked up at Jewel and wagged her tail, "did you meet Zeke far away? you smell like flowers." the little pup smiled and her eyelids drifted shut, and her breathing stopped.

Zeke looked down at his little sibling.

Jewel : Jewels looked she nuzzled hard "come little one wake up. Get me sikling herbs Zeke that has milk like substance and will help her for now" jewel says, still nuzzling the pup.

Zeke stood there, Zekes father looked down at the pup and how hard Jewels was trying to revive her. Zekes father turned to Zeke, "I owe you an apolgie", zeke ignored his father and ran past to get the Sikling herbs and brought back quite a few.

Jewel : "Come on little one wake up you can make it your strong like me" she says. "Don't let them win babygirl come on" jewel whispers in her ear

his father stomped his foot "ZEKE WILL YOU STOP RUNNING AROUND AND LISTEN TO ME FOR A MINUTE!" his fathers tone was harsh but at the same time it seemed sad, "zeke tell your friend even if Lilla is revived she'll just die because of the lack of nutrion from any other milk,"

zeke stopped and snapped at his dad "if your willing to let her die because you gave up then leave!" he snarled and nuzzled his little sis, "dad doesn't know the rest of the territories like we do, we know one territory that has lots of wolves, come on sis"

Lilla tasted the mositer and began suckling on the herbs,

Zeke looked at Lilla then at Jewel he noticed a gash on her hip and moved to lick it clean. as he moved his father could see the scar of the gun shot wound to his back.

"Keep feeding her zeke" jewel colasped the pain rushed to her. She was still awake but now laying down. "I just need to catch my breath" jewel looked at his father "im jewel by the way" she says to him

Zeke : Zeke stopped cleaning her wound and went to feeding his little sister,

his Father stepped back and disappeared only to return moments later with more sukle herbs, "i'll feed her." he directs his attention to Jewel, "I'm Jet, thank you jewel. for bringing my son back just intime."

Zeke backed up letting his father take over feeding lilla, ZEke looked intensely at Jewel and nuzzled her,

Jewel : "Your going to listen to zeke and explain why you chased him off" jewel says more demanding "you owe him that. And if you don't I will dye trying to get you to talk sir" she says standing up again. She showed she had bravery by saying that

Zeke : Zeke looke at Jewel and he whispered nows not the time. jet gave lilla the rest of the herbs, lilla had a full belly and curled up, I was trying to appolgize to him, but he kept running off. he was right his brother wasn't dead just exausted from playing all day. but his brother did stop breathing, and to be honest the rules of our pack are clear no matter the age, if a wolf of the pack takes another pack members life they must be killed or banished. i couldn't bring myself to kill my son, so we chased him out insted. which was wrong of us to do untill we were sure he had killed him. his younger brother died 2 days after that, his mother said he didn't breath while he slept, and negleted to tell me that.

Jewel : Jewel looked at the pup "come we must go now that she is done eating.

Zeke there is a den south of here take your father and sister there imma collect sikling herbs for her. There is a storm on the way we have to get shelter" jewels says. She didn't care his father was older. "Jet carry the baby"

Zeke : Zeke laid down and curled up the stench of death no longer bothering him. he suddenly felt sick, Jet looked quickly at Zeke his eyes wide "DID YOU GO IN THE DEN TO GET LILLA?!" his voice was terrified, "Zeke did you go into the den!" zeke felt his eyes grow heavy,

Jewel : Jewels looked "yah he went why?"

Zeke : Jet Bit down hard on Zeke's leg, "theres poison at the entrence to the den!" Jet pulled on Zekes leg, Zeke's eyes open but only just, "its so poent that even one of those human hounds died becuase of it"

Jewel : "Can you carry him" jewel says heading for the baby. It starts to rain

Zeke : Jet picks up Zeke by his scruff, "of course i can carry him he's not that big yet. lead the way Jewel"

Jewel : Jewel picks the baby up and leads jet to a cave where a bear use to live. "What kind of poision was it do you know" she says after she puts the pup down

Zeke : he lays down Zeke, all i know is it makes them tired and not feel pain, and soon after they die

Jewel : "Hmmmm sleepiness then death.... punamie leaves and kamisha leaves should do" she says heading back out "try to wake him and keep him awake" she says exiting the cave

Zeke : Jet shook his head as he licked Zekes nose and belly the places that use to wake him up easy, "you know your little mate there is really bossy for a pup her age" Jet now looks a little closer at the still scarring injury, a perectly round hole. thats deeper and he's ever seen a wolf to sustain to his body, he whispers softly "oh Zeke what happened to you while you were out there, " he nipped at each of Zekes paws, then at His ears only now noticing the rip in it, "you must have been in one hell of a fight kid" Jets hot breath on Zekes ear makes it twitch. panic flutters across his body, he was redreaming what had happened not long ago, Zeke jumpped up snarling and glaring at a empty wall, Lilla had wokn up when she herd Zekes snarl.

Jewel : Jewel returns "ok I need water.....he has to drink it." Jew puts the leaves down "tear these up would ya" she bolts back out. When it comes to life there is no pause. She reminds herself.

Zeke : Jet ripps them up watching his son rather ceriously.

Jewel : Jewel goes back to the den of the Zeke and grabs the mans box. She rips it open and finds a cup. She takes that to the river and fills it up.

Jewel : She hurrys back to the cave. Once there she puts the herbs in and mixs it

Jewel : "Can you wake him"

Zeke : Zeke is standing stairing at the wall his fur is ruffled. jet replies "he is awake just acting funny like he's afraid of something"

Jewel : Jewels looks up "zeke.....zeke your safe I got you" she whispers in his ear. "Come now drink this"

Zeke : Zeke turned to face Jewels he walked over to the drink and drank it, Jet watched rather ceriously, "how do you get him to listen to you so well?"

Jewels relaxed a little as she saw him drink "I don't know I can do that with almost anything. My mother says its a gift of mine." She says looking at jet. "Wanna see"

Zeke : "impress me little one" jet says almost mockingly

"Ok" jewel comes up to him and whispers in his ear "jet its ok your son and daughter are safe. Take it easy" she says. She steps back to see his result.

"hahaha" so you think its just your voice little one, no see my mate did that alot to me so i learned to think of otherthings that would calm me down.

Jewel : "But it would calm you otherwise.....that mean it works in a way" jewel says smiling. "I did it to the pup too"

yes but that is because she misses her mother and was scared even ZEke was able to calm her down, Zeke was licking the bottom of the cup now and pawing at it trying to get more cause he believed it to taste good. he yawned, and looked around then cave seeing Jet and Jewel and his sister lilla

Jewels went to lilla to see if she was ok. She nuzzled her.

lilla looked up at Jewels is Zeke ok? he looked over at him his eyes seems clouded. as he laid down, Jet was almost obsesed with Zeke's wounds, suddenly he asks "jewel do you know where these wounds came from? they look like they would have killed him."

"Yes he's ok little one how are you" jewels look back at jet "I do know I'll tell you after I attend to her k" she looks back at lilla "you need anything"

she yawns no i;m ok

"Ok you sleep ok" jewels says. She heads to jet. "When we met he was getting chased by bees we ran into a cave were I almost died from a snake bite I got right before we met. Zeke took care of me but while I was still healing hounds where getting closer. Zeke ran so they would follow him and the hunter shot him....by the time I caught up to them the hunter was bad mouthing his hounds saying zeke wasn't a wolf but a pup who'll be dead soon....I waited til they left and took zeke back to the cave where I put herbs on him"

Zeke : jet looked at Jewel then at Zeke, "he must have gotten braver since he left here. he use to be afraid of anything bigger than him. and those hounds are huge, even bigger than i am." Jet shook his head. "I dont understand him. he acts diffrent from all the other pups i've had. we held him back from hunts and exploring outside the den because we felt he was to jumpy

"Well maybe letting him go hunt would have helped. I've had to teach him everything on the way here. He was willing to learn it all too" jewel says "you should have let him catch rabbits and small stuff. Never hold him back because he won't learn for later in life" jewel says wisely

but even the eldest of all of my pack my father held me back, said when i was finaly able to hunt i was far better than the rest in my age

"No mean to be disrespectful sir but sounds like your pack need new rules" she says

cause i was more determined than the others more focused on learning everything that needed to be learned, tell me has he ever asked more than once. about something

"Yes a few times" jewel says looking back at Zeke.

Zeke : Zeke has he ever been so focused on something you cant get his attention

Zeke : has he ever gotten to the point that hes thrilled he did something compleately without asking for help?

Jewel : "No....once but he learned porcuppines are bad" she gigle

"Yes he has" jewel says

Jet laughed, "the way he jumpped and snarled, while you were away made me think of the first time i came face to face with a wolf from a rival pack. it had attacked out territory along with its pack, they were all bitting and snapping, my father told me to stay back and i tried, but there she was, snarling, snapping her fangs. i felt a rush i couldn't explain, i was terrified and yet willing to do anything to help. i lost, i lost bad but my father came and helped me, perphaps that is why i look up to him. and why he seems set on listing to your comands, no matter what." Jet looked at Zeke, he'll be a stronger wolf than i am, at his age i would have never found the curage to lead hounds and a hunter away

Jewel looks sad as a memory of her pack flashed in her head. She looked down. "I was going to fight them for him" she says

Zeke : jet looks at her stirnly "with you recovering from a deadly snake bite i dont think so... you would have been killed and then he would have been left fighting them anyway." Jet got a thoughtfull look and looked over at Zeke. "no he's to young to think like that isn't he?"

Jewel : "It would have given him time to run" jewel says as the pain comes to her side making her voice sound hurt.

Zeke : jet looked at JEwel. "that maybe but I believe he thinks of you as his pack now, and a pack member will not allow another pack member to die by the paws of anything without doing there best to protect them first.

Jewel : Jewel looks at him. "I guess your right"

Jewel closes her eyes as a sharp pain hits her side. She whines for a second then opens her eyes.

Zeke : Zeke whined in his sleep and shivered curling up into a ball, Jet stood up and walked over to Lilla and curled up around her, you need your rest, i saw that hunter throgh you into that tree. Jet closed his eyes and fell asleep, Lilla happy to have someone around her let out a happy yip and curled into his fur, Zeke sat up hearing Lilla's yip, and looked around his eyes were clear he saw Jewel close her eyes and whine, he walked to her and licked her muzzle and nuzzled her cheek, "is your side bothering you Jewel do you need me to go you something for it?"

"Yah it hurts a little I'll be fine" she nuzzles Zeke "you were so brave
today." She trys to push the pain aside.

Jewel : "Are you glade you have your family back"

Zeke : Zeke looked confused, "i wasn't brave you were," he looks over to his father and lilla, "in a way they saved me by chasing me out."his voice was quiet, " if they hadn't i wouldn't have known wat to do i would have been stuck in the cave with the pups watching them die, one by one, i would have been stuck watching mother die, watching the ants,-" his stomach heaves and he holds it down. he lays down, he hadn't thought about it this way but he was lucky, if they hadn't chased him out he would have been the first one out of the den, the one caught in the trap, the one that was dead there.

Jewel : Jewel licks him "you were still brave...I wish my..." she trails off as the thought of her mother came up

Zeke : Zeke licked her face and stood up nuzzling her neck, "lay down please your hurt and you need your rest"

*morning *

Jet stood up and was coughing he walked outside it was smoke the humans were burning the forest, he ran inside and woke everyone up.

Jewel : Jewels woke up. She coughed "lets go"

Zeke : Zeke got up and walked over to Lilla and picked her up, he didn't realize she wasn't breathing, Jet took Lilla as soon as they were outside, run north the fire is in the south and the wind is blowing west we should be fine if we go north.

Jewel looks "wait she's not breathing" she says running to lilla

Zeke : lilla lay motionless

Jewel : Jewel nuzzles her hard again "you to get going nowww" she demands "up the mountain in the cave of caves" she says to zeke "we will meet you there ok" she knew he would understand. She nuzzles lilla. "Come one baby girl"

Zeke : Zeke stood a little shakily, he was feeling lightheaded from the poison it was trying to pass through him now. Jet Watched Jewel intensely, please be ok

Jewel : "Just gooo" she puts her attention on the pup.

Jewel : Jewel nuzzles her "my miracle wake up please" tears starts to fill her eyes.

Jewel : A tear drops on the pup

Zeke : Zeve wouldn't move, "no i wont leave you." Jet looked at Zeke with a confused look, her voice would make him do anything but leave her? "i wont leave without you Jewel"

Jewel : "Zeke will be together soon im right behind you my love" she says looking at him dead in his eyes "goo stay with your father.....cave of caves I'll see you there...."

Jewel : Jewel stops nuzzling the pup and nuzzles Zeke. "Please"

Zeke : Zeke pulled his ears flat and nodded, he licked her, he turned to Jet, "come on" he looked back one more time at Jewel and at Lilla, he ran Jet on his tail the whole way. upon reaching the cave of Caves he waited for JEwel watching for any signs,

Jewel : Jewel brings lilla to the back of the den. She nuzzles her hard "comeon little one wake up....."

Zeke : Jet looked at Zeke "you like her dont you alot more than you let on." Zeke ignored his question. lilla woke and coughed her breathing was rash and her heartbeat wasn't steady, the suckle herbs she had yesterday was only enough to get her though that day, and now here the den it was obious to her was wasn;t going any further so she curled up next to JEwels legs i want to see dad

Jewel : "Come on......" jewel has a little fear in her eyes

Jewel : Jewel picks up the other sikling herb and gave her the milk "drink then I will take you to him" jewel gathers the rest of the sikkling herbs and tieing it to the pups back. As soon as she's done she picks her up and runs as fast as she can for the mountain.

Jewel : They enter the cave.

Zeke : Zeke had left and was paseing about outside somewhere worried.

Jewel : Jewel looks around "jet weres Zeke"Zeke 3:15:44 AM): Jet looked at

Jewel and Lilla he jumped up. and ran to his pup licking her trying to get the smoke off of her

Zeke : he went outside to wait for you

Jewel : "The sikkling herb is on her back" jewel says as she leave to go find Zeke. "Zeke.... Zeke...." she just calls

Zeke : Zeke was sitting ontop of a boulder watching anxiously for Jewels to come, when he was climbing ontop of it is when she went by, he howled for her

Jewel : Jewels sees him "zeke...." she calls to him.

Zeke : he turns around seeing her he half jumps half slides down the rock and to her

Zeke : he licks her face all over

Zeke : nuzzling her and pressing his nose into her neck

Jewel : Jewels nuzzles him "we have to hurry....if we don't get as much sikkling herbs your sis will die" she says.

Zeke : Zeke nodded

Jewel : Gola runs back in "jet stay with her.....where gonna go get the herbs for
her"

Zeke : he serched for tthe skikling herbs

Jewel : Jewel goes and gets a mouth ful of sikkling herbs. She's really close to the fire. She's by the cave they were hiding in

Zeke : Zeke has gone serchering near the river next to the fire he grabbled about 4 dozzen

Jewel : Tyeing then with twigs and got about 7 dozen in each.

5 twigs full

Zeke : he didn't know how to tie them to twigs he was just grabing branches off the bushes, he got a few more branches and yelped when the fire scorched his side he figured that was enough

Jewel : Jewel feels the heat and howls for Zeke to get back to the caves.

Jewel : She heads for them

Zeke : Zeke grabs his little bundle of twigs and runs back to the caves

Jewel : Jewels meets him at the enterence. She has a big mouth full.

Jewel : Inculding one that has roots so it'll grow more

Zeke : he has about 7 branches full of them and lays them down he sneezes trying to get the smoke out of his nose

Jewel : Jewel puts the branches down "that's should be enough I got a plant so we can grow more" she looks at jet "how is she"

Zeke : Jet looks at Jewel and then to Zeke she's awake still but only just

Jewel : Jewel gives him the plant "here feed her this"

Zeke : Jet does

Jewel : Jewel trys to catch her breath. She inhaled to much smoke.

Zeke : Zeke licks Jewel and lays down one side of his body his fur was senged to about half and inch now not enough to stay warm in the winter,

Jewel : Jewel notices the burn and runs out again to get the right herb "stay here" she says

Jewel : She returns with fulgi

ke scratches his side while she's Jewel 4:05:56 AM): She puts the herb on him.

he looks at Jewel and licks her nose

Jewel : Once one she lays down. She licks him "jet your quiet you ok?"

Zeke : jet nods just am watching lilla eat and wishing her mother was here.

"I know how you feel" jewel says. "I wish my mom was here"

Zeke rolls around I wish I was back sooner, maybe mom would have been here

Jewel : "If you came back sooner you would have died too" jewel says.

Jewel is reviving jet. "Come on" she says

Jet slowly comes around

Jewel looks surprised at herself. She takes a deep breath

He looks up at Jewel and lays his head back down he was exausted

Jewel leaps over the pup on the ground and grabs a rabbit.

Lilla whined and ducked down watching Jewel, lilla was onely about 2 weeks old

Jewel brings a rabbit to him. "Come on eat jet you need it" she says.

Jet lifted his head looking at the rabbit and sniffig it, "Where is Zeke?"

"He went to find the other pack and bring someone here" jewel says 

A pack a little north is just waking up. Nem'me is feeding her pups there daily milk.

Zeke howls again thinking there wasn't a pack. he let out a sigh as he walked further

Neme heard his howl and howled back. She really couldn't move seeing she had three pup

Zeke hered the howl and ran to where the howl was, he was panting hard

Neme listened she knew it was a pup. The howl wasn't grown. She howled again so the pup could find her.

Neme's mate walks behind and begans to howl for the pup

Zeke found her and pulls his ears flat his breath almost gone, he gasps, "my... sister.... nee...ds... milk...she'll " his sides heaving, he staggers and turns back to go back to Jewel his father and Lilla

"Ok ok catch your breath young one" the male says.

Neme was up at milk. "Can you tell me where?"

(Thumb mountain) Neme looks waiting

he gasps and alomst collasped, "she's  at" , he lays down. feeling his limbs
growing heavy "she's at thumb." he pointed with his muzzle to where she was as his head fell down.

Nemse runs to the cave leaving Zev to her husband.

"Well come on you look hungry." The male says grabing the two pups in his mouth

Zeke looked up at the male and staggered to his feet.

The male looked at him and put the pups down he howled and another male came and picked Zeke up heading toward the pack.

Zeke squirmed he wanted to return to Jewel and the rest of his family

Afod the mate of neme looks at him shaply like quit moving

Neme reaches the cave

Lilla whined and looked at Jet then to Jewel she whimpered is daddy ok?

Zeke bit down on he male's neck and ran for where Jewel and lilla and jet were.

"He's ok..." jewel says. She nuzzled lilla. "You hungry little one"

Neme walks in "hello im here to help" she sees the pups and jet.

Zeke ran as fast as he could soon he found himself lost. he was out of breath and he had started to just walk towards where he thought Jewel and the others were at. but he was going west insted of south.

Neme makes her way to jet

Jet looks up at the she-wolf he didn't seem to want to get up.

Neme nuzzled him "its ok I will take the little ones back and get help ok."

Jet nodded, he lifted his head, "did Zeke make it to you?"

"Yes" neme says "he's safe..."

jet nodded and managed to stand up, a wound unnoticed untill now is
visible, maggots crawling around his wound and deep into his wound, a gun wound. "I'm glad my son is safe and his little sister", he faced the Neme, "can you watch over Lilla she's to young for me to care for."

"Yes you need that wound looked at" neme says. Jewel sat there silently watching him.

Jet shook his head, "My pack is dead other than my children", He looks to
Jewel "and it would seem my son has already found a mate" his voice was kind but not as strong as it had been when they had first met.

"Jet...." jewel says sadness filling her eyes

She knew what was happening

Jet looked back to the she-wolf "if your pack could be so kind as to take in my three pups, yes i said three, Zeke, Lilla, and Zeke's companion Jewel that would please this old alpha, I couldn't protect my pack from the hunters and it would seem the pups take care of me more than i them."

Neme nods. Jewel walks to him "jet.....you can't leave" she says tears fill her eyes and slide down her face.

"Jewel The pack north is known as the pup pack, they adopt only pups under 2 months." he coughs and looks at lilla and licks her, "go with this lovely wolf she will care for you know. 'll come and check on you when you your old enough to come home." he licks lilla and wags his tail and looks at Jewel.

"I can't....." she says sadly.. "Yesterday I turned 3 months"

(meanwhile) Zeke had staggered and fell to the ground, it was growing hot for being so far north. he let out a whimper. "where am i?" he whines and see's a rabbit approch him its ears twitched, Zeke went to lunge at it but his body wouldn't move and the rabbit continued to eat its grass almost knowing the little wolf couldn't catch him. --- Jet looked at Jewel his ears flat, "then that means Zeke wont stay with this pack either, he's grown to fond of you to leave your side i believe."

Jewel cries "you can't leave...." tears flow down her face. Neme is already feed lilla

Lilla suckles happily, she was starving. Zeke lets out a whimper of worry. he allowed his eyes to close,  as he fell asleep. his father was trying to reasure Jewel, "your a strong young pup and growing to be a fine she-wolf. Zeke is lucky to have you. but i can not continue with your journy, i have to return to my territory and burry my pack. i wont let the humans be satisfied with burning there bodies."

Jewel nods. In an instant she went on alert. "Zeke...." she felt in her heart he's lost. "Jet zeke...."

Jet looked at Jewel "are you sure?"

"Yes he's not around...." jewel heads outside and howls

Jet looks at the she-wolf feeding lilla, " I thought you said he was safe!" his growl was harsher than he ment but he went outside he looked at Jewel "you want to go after him dont you?" his voice was alot kinder

"He was to head to the pack" neme says sharply back. Jewel looks at jet a little prance wanting to run. She didn't say anything. Jewel howled again

"Jewel if he's to far away he wont hear your howls," jet turns to the shewolf. "why? dont you realize that is like breaking a trust not to allow him to return to his pack with you if he's requesting help?

"He was out of shape he needed to rest" neme says. Jewel looks out "comeon Zeke hear my heart...."

jet pulls ears flat, "Zeke would return back here if you hadn't have forced him to stay." jet looked out at where his son had disappeared to, lilla looked up and whined, "Zeke gone?"

Jewel gets a little more an anxious "come on....." "I didn't force him to say...all he said was his sis needed milk and to help and the place. So I ran here as fast as I could" neme says.

Jet pulled his ears flat and looked at the female "I'm sorry for my acusation." he looked back out, he took a step "I'm going to search for him. I'll take lilla back to your pack so you can feed your pups. but i have to find my son." he turns and picks up lilla, she lets out a whimper. and looks at Jewel, you both find Zeke and leave me?

"No jet you stay with lilla I can run fast and I can catch up to him quickly."
Jewel says

jet looked at Jewel and nodded, he didn't think he would last to make it to his son, and he felt a lump in his throat, he knew he would die soon and he didn't want any of his pups to fear.

Jewel runs off. Neme stands up "she in brave..." neme says

Jet nodded "yes she is, but so is Zeke. I had banished him before he was able to fully eat meat."    -- Zeke watches the rabbit with anger he finally stood and lunged at it killing it instantly and began eatting it. his heart pounding.

Jewel runs smelling and howling toward the west. "Zzzzeeeekkkkeeee" she calls in her howl

Zeke heard Jewel's howl and he let out a weaken howl back. but it was drifted of by the wind.

Jewel stopped dead track. Her ears perked she howled again for him

zeke howled back, his rabbit was gone now, he was getting a little strenth back

Jewel ran to him "zeke...Zeke you ok"

Zeke saw Jewel his heart jumpped he tried to stand. but his legs gave back out he was exausted.

"Shhhh its ok love" jewel nuzzled him

Zeke's tail wagged, "i.. i.. i found that pack... but ththey tried to take me deep into there territory. I i had to get back to you" his heart was racing and he laid down, he had a gash on his chest from hitting a thorn bush when he fled from the pack. his paws were cracked and bleeding, he had run in cricles for a long while and he didn't even realize it. he was still panting, his breathing labored. "the she wolf went to help lilla.

"She's there....shhh rest I'm here" jewel says

Zeke looked at Jewel and laid his head down, he curled up against Jewel he had felt afraid the she wolf was going to kill everyone, so he had run as fast as his paws could carry him trying to get back, but he got lost, he had lost his direction.--- lilla whined looking up at jet, then to the the female wolf and moved close to her. lilla had missed her mother more than she or anyone had realized.

"My pack will take you in until your well...as far as the other two pups they are...." neme hessitated "a threat to us....in a way" she finishes

Jet looks to the female, "how are they a threat? there no where near old enough to mate yet."

"They can hurt the pups....a long time ago great grandfather took in a 3 month old pup. That pup killed half the pups before they banished him" neme says.

jet nodded and lay downwatching lilla, "lilla is only 4 weeks old. so she can be allowed into your pack right?"

"Yes we will raise her as ours. She will know who you are we don't deny them of that"

Jet nodded, "I will run with those two pups for a while. untill i die. It wont be long I'm 8 years now."

"Im sorry I wish we could but we have pups to watch...when they are one year they can return and go through a test form our pack to see if they would hurt the pups" neme says.

Jewel picks herbs and puts them on Zeke while he sleeps.

Jet nods, Then rather than staying with your pack i'll trave with what is left from mine.

"I will have 4 attend with you to help ok"

nods ok

Neme's mate walks in "nem the little one escaped" he says.

Jet looked up at the male. his fear for his little son rose, he stood, "take good care of Lilla." he walked to Lilla and licked her. "I'm going to find my son and his mate." he turned and left the den leaving lilla and the two wolves to care for her.

Jewel walks in "he's ok I have him resting I just came to grab a herb"

Jet had gone out of his way to find then.

Jewel saw jet was not there and ran to find him "jeeeeeeeettt" she howled

jet stopped and turned seeing Jewel he went back

Jewel caught up with him "he's ok...I found him"

jet looked relieved, and licked Jewels head, we have to go, they will only accept lilla and she's sleeping it would be best if we left now

"Zeke cant move and you need help..." jewel says. "He's to tired right now and that bullet whole is getting bigger" she says sturnly.

Jet shook his head, Zeke will not stay cause this pack will not allow you in. Zeke is almost to old to enter he maybe i dont remember how long ago i kicked him out.

"Its ok I will take care of him" jewel says nuzzling jet

Jet looks at jewel realizing that she didn't want him to go with her and Zeke he nodded to her and walked back to the cave

"I want you to come your family I just mean after you die" jewel says walking with him

They said after your a year you could try and join the pack

"Do you trust the jet" jewel says

Jet nodded. They've been known to care for pups for generations.

"I trust them as long as you do"

Jet nods, can you take me to Zeke i want to tell him good bye

"We can't come with you" jewel looked surprised.

They offered i stay with them at first i turned them down, but i know you worry about my health young one. so i'll stay and when i am well i will find you and Zeke

"Me and Zeke will stay here in the Cave of caves or as they call it thumb mountain" jewel says

Jet nods alright. he licks her fur, you and Zeke will be a great pair of alpha's one day

Neme steps out "we have to get to the pack. Afod will go with jewel to get Zeke and bring him to us"  she says

Zeke woke seeing that Jewel had left he knew she returned to check on lilla, he staggered but started following her sent.

Jewel met him part way Afod with her "zeke its ok..."

Zeke nodded and wagged his tail

Jewel nuzzled him. Afod picked him up and they went to the pack

Zeke lay limp in the wolf's jaws, lilla lay limp in jet's jaws

They all met were Zeke met neme

Zeke let out a whimper as his eyes closed, he was trying to stay awake

Afod put him down. Jewel nuzzles him.

Zeke licked Jewel and smiled.

Neme looks at them. "We must part with them jet and go to the pack afod will carry Zeke back to the cave..." she hated sounding harsh

Jet nodded then licked Zeke. good bye my son take care of Jewel

Jewel let out a tear. She nuzzled lilla and whipered "goodbye little one
keep fighting ok and never give up" she then turns to jet. A tear slide downs her face

Jet nodded to Jewel be safe you two. his voice was sad but he knew it would be best if he did die, he shouldnt be around them. he turned with lilla and left

Zeke watched. his family was gone once more. he lowered himself down and closed his eyes.

Afod carries Zake to the cave "if by any chance you need us we are by the river" he says to them both

Zeke nodded and looked at Jewel, he knew she must be taking it harder than him. he sat up and moved close to Jewel and put his muzzle close to her neck.

Jewel sighs and nuzzles him. Afod leaves.

Zeke licks along her neck, "it will be ok. at least now Lilla will have milk to drink." Zekes tail wags and he lays down beside Jewel "and father will become well." Zeke coughed a bit and closed his eyes

Jewel starts to cry silently.

Zeke looks up at Jewel and sits back up and licks her ears and nuzzles her, "itll be alright Jewel its ok"

Jewel nods still crying "its my fault..."

Zeke licks her nose, no jewel its not your fault. dont be sad

"You could go with them Zeke your still 2 months I on the other hand am 3 months yesterday" jewel says

he looks at Jewel i'd never leave you JEwel i cant, he pushed up against her. I wont.

"I know but you should have" jewel says.

Zekes eye were focused on Jewel i would never leave you Jewel. My family are the ones who banished me and you helped me.

jewel nuzzles Zeke "rest I'll get some herbs for you"

Zeke stood up and shook his head, "I wont leave you again Jewel

"Rest this is our home now until your father is well" jewel says pushing him down.

Zeke looked up at Jewel, he wanted to be with her,

"Rest....." jewel says "I will be back in 5 minutes"

zeke nods watching her leave, he puts his head between his paws and
almost looks as though he's pouting

Jewel goes and picks herbs. She returns to the cave. She puts the herb on him

zeke wags his tail and licks at jewel,

"I told you id return" jewel nuzzles him

zeke nodded and looked at Jewel

zeke never wanted to leave Jewel's side, he realized at that moment he loves her

Jewel looks at Zeke. "You ok zeke"

Zeke nodded His ears pulled back he laid down, unsure what to say to her.

After putting the herbs on jewel lays down.

Zeke moved close to Jewel and licked her ears. he laid his head down just happy she was there

Jewel lays next to him and puts her head next to his

"Jewel, My father said you were my mate. do you think that would be true?"

"Yes" jewel says

Zeke almost jumped with joy but he insted asks "why do you think that." his voice quivering with excitement

"Because the stars shine brighter when I am with you. Also I am happier with you" jewel says.

Zeke lifts his head and lays it on her neck, "i'm happiest when i'm with you too!"

Jewel smiles and lickes his fur.

Zeke's tail wags. his eyes drift shut "I missed you when i was gone."

"I felt you being lost" jewel says.

"Yes...." jewel says "I felt as if you were calling me for help"

I feared i'd never see you again. I thought i could hear you at several points but i couldn't see you anywhere, i tried to howl. *his voice went out on him as he surcome to sleep*

"Sleep" jewel says.

Zeke whispers while he sleeps, "Jewel, I'll always be at your side."

Jewel lays her head next to his. And watches.. (Fast forward to when they wake)

*morning comes*

Jewel stretches

Zeke rolls onto his back and rolls around trying to scratch an itch

Jewel watches him then stands up

Zeke gets up and shakes off the dirt from the cave, he wags his tail at Jewel.

"Good morning" jewel says. She looks at the enterence and sees there is a dead deer "hay look"

Zeke looked at it his head cocked to the side, it reminded him of the dead
deer tied down that had killed three wolves

"Zeke food" jewel says walking to it

"Wait! somethings wrong, dont go near it."

Jewel stops. She looks at him. "What"

Zeke walks up to the dead deer and sniffs the ground, he looks at Jewel. "human"

Jewel comes to him and sniffs the air "the back of the cave has a whole. Go warn the others im going to act like we are being normal" she says hopeing he would go.

Zeke backs into the cave, He was having a bad feeling, "Remember the 3 legged deer in my territory, the one with the wolves around it dead? Dont go outside, Jewel and dont eat the meat."

"Just go and be quiet going out" she backs away softly and lays down.

Zeke turned for the back entrence but there was a thickness about the air, a musty sent, he'd smelt it before, a deep oder like the humans, his eyes went wide, it was dogs.  He looked back at Jewel and called softly, "dogs"

Jewel gets up and goes to him. She sniffs. She knew she could out run then. "I can out run them. I will go the other way you must go to the pack...." jewel says trying to keep her voice calm

Zeke walked back up to Jewel, "no."he said calmly, "I'll lure them away if the dogs get close to me i'll jump in the river and let it carry me down stream, your faster than i am, you can make it to the pack before i can. " his eyes were focused on Jewel.

"No I can out run them and the pack will find me you must sneek to the pack and be undetected" jewel says. She nuzzled him. "I love you." She ran off.

The dogs chased her and the human too

Leaving Zeke alone

"JEwel!" Zeke let out a whimper, but he ran to the pack as fast as he could, he was terrified for Jewel now, He jumpped over trees and other things, he made it to the pack and howled "HUMANS!" Jet woke up first and ran to Zeke, "humans? where?" zeke explained that they were chasing JEwel now, Jet-"you let her go in your place! your the male your to draw the attention so the female can escape!" Jet bit down on Zeke's neck and threw him out of the way. Zeke staggered to stand watching his father run off to help Jewel. After getting back his footing he ran to help.

Zeke saw his father continue to run towards where the dogs were going but Jet stopped and sniffed the meat, He looked inticed by it suddenly, it was cut open, not by fangs but by something else, the blood still spilled forth, it was still warm and he could feel it he leaned close but Zeke head butted him. "dad Jewel needs help! and dont eat that its bad!" Zeke ran ahead of Jet. Jet looked at the meat and then at Zeke running off.  Jet shook his head and gave chase behind Zeke.

Jewel ran as fast as she could she knew something know else did. She could blind into the snow on the top of the peek. "Come on you stupid dogs" she yelled. Her heart beat and she laughed

Once at the peek she rolled covering her scent. She stops and kneels down

Zeke was catching up faster than he thought, the dogs didn't even notice him as a wolf, they must have thought he was a dog like them.

Jewel attacks them

She notices zeke and jumps for him landing on the dog behind him

The dogs fought with Jewel tooth and claw, Zeke Saw Jewel and lunged at a dog who had come up behind her, he pinned it rather eaisly and bit at its neck, it yelped and rann off, Zeke turned there he saw them the humans, Jet showed up and was tearing into another dog on the edge of dog pack.

Zeke turned and lunged himself at another dog, its snarling reminded him of a while back he pushed the dog over, the click of the hunters gun made him freeze he turned, the human beside the hunter with the gun blew a wistle and the dogs scattered, Zeke ran at the humans, Jet was over one of the dogs he had killed and watched as the dogs ran away, he looked at Jewel he wasn't sure what had happened.

"Get out of here......" she calls to jet. She blinds into the snow

Jewels runs to jet to protect him

the hunter had lined up his gun with Jewel, Zeke lunged at the hunter, a dog came at Zeke with full force, the gun fired, a yelp of terror, Zeke and dog both fell into the snow,

Neme attanck the hunter. Her mate is killing the dogs. He howls and the whole pack jumps and runs for the human. 15 wolves deep

the hunter went and reloaded his gun as fast as he could and aimed at Jewel once more. Jet ran over and tackled Jewel pushing her out of the sight of the gun, "Jewel get out of the fight Jewel! its bad enough Zeke was hit!

jewel hearing about Zeke made her furious she fan to the hunter madness in her eyes. She jumped on him snapping at him and chomping him on his neck

Jet turned and lunged at the human once more, the human's gun rose, as wolves attacked from all sides. he pulled out a pistol and fired at the shewolf neme. he shot wildly and hit Jet's chest , jet was running and had umbled over. the human was to late to stop Jewels attack. he screamed in horror, before the hunter died.

the dogs fled all about. terrified of everything that had happened.

Jewel keeps attack him way after he's dead the madnes in her eyes

Jet shook his head, he tried to stand but found he couldn't, his body wouldn't listen to him not even to twitch his ears, Zeke lay half under one of the dead dogs, a pool of blood was around him. Jets ears pulled back. he rolled onto his side, his eyes open, he died.

Jewel looks up...."who do I go too" she ran to Zeke. "Zeke comeon" she draged him to his dad.

Zeke whimpered, looking up at Jewel his tail wagged, He had been shot but the dog's body had blocked most of the force. if it hadn't been for the dog trying to save its master Zeke would have been killed by the bullet, Zekes injury wasn't faital but it had hurt him. "Jewel I ran as fast as i could. to get back to you." Zeke's tail wagged. He hadn't noticed his dad had been shot.

Jewel nuzzles him "I know my love....your dad is hurt bad and..."

Zeke looked at his father and let out a whimper, his fur matted from the blood, he looked up at Jewel, "he's dead."

Zeke Whined and went to stand, Jet was laying on his side, "Dad? Dad?"

Jewel watchs tears run down her face.

Afod is by neme's side

Zeke let out a whimper and nudged Jet, "dad. I'll look after Lilla when she's older." he turned to Jewel and whimpered.

Jewel whimpered with him and soon let out a sad howl.

Afod came to them. "You two..." he says

Zeke looked at the male and down to his dad, he stood up his side bleeding heavily but not compleately life threating, he walked over to the forest line and laid down, he rolled in the snow and sat up, the blood on his coat disappearing slowly. leaving the blood from his wound still coming out. he licked his paws, which were still bleeding.

"You two will stay with us till you heal well and if we think its fit permantly... with humans around you will be safer. You are to listen to me as the alpha and you are not to play with the pups younger then you do you hear me" afod says going near Zeke to pick him up. A wolf carries neme on their back.

Zeke backs away from Afod and growls. He wasn't pleased that they were acting this way towards Jewel, she'd never hurt a pup, he then blurted out "I'M YOUNGER THAN JEWEL DOES THAT MEAN I CANT BE NEAR HER OR PLAY WITH HER! AND WHAT ABOUT LILLA SHE'S MY SISTER, YOU WONT LET ME PLAY WITH HER EITHER!" he was mad the thought of not being near Jewel or his sister.

"You can be near jewel your sister is one of us you can love on her but when it comes to play you lay there and let her play" afod says. "We aren't even suppose to let you in but neme's last wish is...." he stops a tear formed.

Jewel comes from behind afod and goes to nuzzle zeke "zeke lets go til you heal then we can leave them"

Zeke stood up, "take Jewel in then, I'm not going, I have to take my father to his territory before the birds come."

"My men are on it don't worry" afod says looking back as gathers form around jets body. "Jewel is in better shape then you she can show them the place" afod says

"Zeke please go with them...." jewel says tears falling down her face

Zeke growled again, "Jet is my father and its my place to take him-"his anger cut short he looks at Jewel "but I.." he laid back down.

Jewel looks terror in her eyes "at least let me put herbs on it and have someone carry you Zeke" she says

Zeke shook his head, "i'll go back with them Jewel if its what you want"

Jewel nuzzles him and nods "thank you" afod watchs "they won't be back til late tonight"

Zeke curls up, closing his eyes, he didn't wanna watch his father being dragged off back to his territory with Jewel leading the way, he felt useless, he stood up and snapped at Afod after Jewel was out of ear shot "i can walk on my own, I'll walk back to your pack."

"I don't think jewel would like that I let you walk even though she's a pup I still see a bite of alpha in her and trust me that's scarey in a pup" afod jokes

Zeke looked at the male. "then you should know that if i dont walk i'll loose my pride as a alpha's pup." with that he shook his body and walked towards the pack, somewhere deep down he knew if he could survive human guns twice he would do anything for jewel. he felt he had to get stronger and him walking while injured may help him. he wasn't sure if it would but at that moment he felt it would.

"If your trying to make your self stronger kid your wasting your time...trust me I tried its not how u look but your heart. You have the heart but you hide it" afod says.

Zeke ignored him and continued to walk. he laid down on the out skirts of the dens and curled up, he was in the pack and didn't want to go anyfurther away from where Jewel would be coming. he closed his eyes and Pretended he was next to her and his father.

Afod told a wolf "watch out for a pup with our men....bring her to my den" afod looks at Zeke "rest let us take care of you" he picks Zeke up and carries him to his den

Zeke squirmed a few moments but then goes limp letting the larger wolf carry him. Zeke didn't feel right being in this territory, he didn't feel right being treated such a young wolf. He let out a whine he was missing Jewel, and his father, and lilla,

Jewel made it to the den where they met jet the ground burned from the fire.

Few animals were around the territory now, a mashine was chopping down trees in the back ground, making room for either houses or farming land.

Jewe smelled the machine and decided not to leave jet there she told them to head back.

They all arrived with jet still on there back in the middle of the night.

zeke had fallen asleep his paws squirming from his dream, *dream* Zeke was trying to catch up to Jewel but Jewel was to far away, he found himself in unfamilar territory, he sniffed the ground trying to find his way trying to find Jewel's sent, nothing, then a howl from the hounds, he froze, he turned and in the hounds mouth was Jewel, Zeke let out a whimper of fear, he didn't want to lunge at the dog what if Jewel was still alive? the dog's eyes were full of rage, and he chomped down, ripping Jewel intwo. *end dream* "Jewel!" he let out a whimper, he looked his mind trying to focus on anything, the den was dark and he still was confused, the sents of the wolves around him made him fearfull and worried, he stood up his limbs felt heavy, he staggered to keep his footing and looked around still his sences only now returning to him.

Jewel walked in "zeke we can't take jet to the den. Humans are chopping trees left and right." She says nuzzling him.

Zeke backed away from Jewel for a moment unrealizing it was her, his dream had frightened him, he tried to make out Jewel's body in the darkness but his eyes still werent focusing on anything. he let out a whimper, "Jewel?"

"Yes my love its me" she whispered in his ear. "Shhhh its ok"

Zeke nuzzled Jewel, he felt tired again, and laid back down with a yawn, He smelt Blood he wasn't aware of who's blood but he knew there was blood, "Jewel, I smell blood, are you ok?" his voice was quivering a little

"Yes...im fine its jets" she lied. She had been shot to but it nipped her "what do we do with jet Zeke hunter took over your den"

Zeke let out a whimper, "this territory is a friends territory, we can lay him to rest here if its alright with the alpha's, " Zeke seemed to shake as he talked, he'd missed Jewel, but now he feared for Jewel. "Dont leave me,"he said suddenly, "dont leave me behind please" his body quivered beside her,

"I won't I promise" jewel says nuzzling him "get some rest in the morning we will talk." She laid next to him and licks his fur.

afod burried his mate.

Zeke laid his head between his paws closing his eyes once more, hewaited for morning not really sleeping, he felt calmer  now that Jewel was back. but not calm enough to sleep

*morning*

Jewel is sick. Since she didn't treat her wounds she got sick. Jewel spikes a fever and can't move.

Jewel moans a little

Zeke lifted his head and moved it over to Jewel's back, he knew something was wrong but wasn't sure what it was, he cleaned her fur finding the gun wound he stood up and whined at Jewel

Afod came in "what's wrong?" he heard Zekes whine.

Zeke looked at Aford then to Jewel, "her side is infected, her ears are hot to touch." Zeke laid back beside Jewel and tried to be close to her, he was worried that Jewel would die on him. He licked her forehead tentively, and her wound, his tail wraps around her's, the worry in his voice was almost fearfull.

Afod came to her. He called jayfod his son in "get me sikkling herbs" (the same plant they feed lilla while travling) jayfod ran out and soon returned. Afod grabbed a leave and put it on the herb "we have to wake her she needs to drink the milk" he says to zeke.

Zeke nodded and nudged her he licked her ears and whispered to her "Jewel come on wake up please it Zeke," he continued licking her ears and her muzzle, he was worried, more so than he's ever been. "Jewel please."

Jewel moans a little and whispers "Zeke" her eyes flutter a little.

Afod attened to her wound

Zeke's heart lunged into his throat, "Yyyes its me," he lickes her face carefully, "you have to drink the milk from the Sikkling herbs,"  he grabbed one and looked at her with a plead to his eyes.

jewel opens her eyes and moaned

Zeke let out a whimper,  he dropped the herbs ad nuzzled Jewel, "come on jewel i know it hurts, but you have to try and stay awake," he was scared the sent of his fear was increasing.

Jewel fought her sleep and lifted her head to drink. Her muscles and bones where heavy. She drank and looked at Zeke. She was dizzy and her head bobbed from it. "Zeke is that you" she whispered

Zeke whispered "yes its me its Zeke Jewel, I wont leave you." he licked her forehead as she drank the milk from the leaf, he gently rubbed his cheek along her's, he was terrified she wouldn't make it. he closed his eyes and got her another sikkling herb and gave it to her.

Afod finished and looked at Zeke "its up to her now....if she doent have the will power to make it she could die" he says. "I believe she won't though. If you will come with me. We need to bury put your father to rest...." afod walks out to get lilla who's eating with other pups

Zeke stopped he looked at Jewel, he didn't want to leave her side, he licked her, "if you need me just whine i'll be right here beside you. i have to lay Jet to rest." his voice crackling from fear of loosing Jewel, he gently licked her cheek "I love you Jewel, please get better" he ran outside and followed Afod

jewel lays her head back down trying to get rid of her pain tears ran down her face

Afod looked at Zeke "stay here I will get lilla" he goes in a den and grabs the little pup

Zeke's heart was acheing he wanted to be with Jewel, but he wanted to see his father burried properly too, his side was bleeding again. Zeke nodded to Afod

Afod returned outside with lilla who now looked like a healthy pup.

Zeke wagged his tail seeing Lilla, but he felt sad too,

Afod led Zeke to the place where he burried his mate a whole dug. Jet lay next to him. 7 wolves were there. Afod put lilla down in front of Zeke. "Pay your respects and nod your head when you want them to put him in the ground" afod steps back a little ways

Zeke licked Lilla, and walked over to there father, Lilla followed close behind, she nuzzled Jet and whined looking at Zeke, Zeke laid by his father and looked off to the side, he knew of nothing he could say to his dad.

Jewel walked up as best she could. She sat next to lilla and howled. The 7 wolves played her melody making it carry out.

Zeke laid his head down and closed his eyes, lilla looked up at jewel and yipped at her, she licked her cheek, "i missed you jewel!"

Jewel almost falls but catches her self and howls again....the same rage in her eyes was now mixed with sorrow.

Zeke stood up and walked up to lilla, gently he whispered to lilla "go tell dad good bye." lilla nodded and walked over to jet she curled up to him one last time and licked his muzzle "i love you daddy," he let out a whine and walked up to Zeke, she curled between his paws, he nodded his head to the wolves.

The 7 wolves lowered jets body carefull not to damage it. They hoped out and began to dig the dirt into the grave. Jewel fell not being able to hold herself up.

Afod stood watching

Zeke caught Jewel with his body and laid her down he softly whispered to her "you shouldn't have come out, your sick," his voice was fearfull still and a bit sad.

"I wanted to be here with you" jewel says breathing heavily. She tried to stand again. She moaned from hurting.

Lilla looked at Jewel and moved close she whined and curled up to Jewel's side she licked Jewel's muzzle and let out soft whimpers, Zeke looked at Lilla and then to Jewel. Zeke curled around both Lilla and Jewel. he wrapped his tail around Jewel's and looked down at lilla

Afod came up and cleared his throat. He motioned for a wolf to carry jewel.

A wolf came and picked jewel up carring her back to the den.

Zeke stood up watchin the wolf take Jewel. his heart lunged but he staid over Lilla, Lilla was curled up close to his forepaws, and let out a whine, Zeke looked down at lilla and licked her forehead, "itll be alright lilla, Jewel just is sick, like i was the day dad kicked me out." Lilla whined and looked up at Zeke, "dad was wrong, you never hurt him, he fell asleep like you said," Lilla was crying, "and your gonna leave me. and and" Zeke bend down and gently nuzzled lilla, "If i leave you it is only in your best intrest, you cant learn pack life without a pack, and I cant teach you much of anything cause i'm still learning too lilla" Zeke's eyes were sad, his pain was back now, and he licked lilla's face and stood up knowing he shouldn't be near lilla all that much or her little heart would break when he and jewel both left.

Afod stood next to them. "Time to go lilla Zeke needs to go to jewel and help her ok" afod says.

"NO!" lilla moved further between Zeke's legs, "zeke and jewel will care for me like father and Zeke and JEwel did!" her voice was strong and yet she was scared too. Zeke stepped away from his sister, lilla looked up at him fear in her eyes "Zeke? dont" she whines "dont leave me here when you leave. please. i'll be good! i i will be"

Afod looks at lilla. "I don't have time for this....Zeke talk to your sis and bring her back" afod goes to prepare for humans

Neme's olders who's as old as Zeke come up "I came to pay my respect"

Zeke's eyes were closed, it was hard for him to do this, she was litterally the last of his pack, and if jewel died, he was still going to leave the pack, he had to it was hard on him already as it was,  lilla whined at zeke, zeke figured this would be the safest for lilla, she'd have a strong pack to watch out for her. a mighty alpha wolf. Zeke turned away, his voice was full of fear and sorrow, "Lilla you have to stay here in this pack when i leave, cause i cant teach you anything. You have to become strong like mother and father, thats what they wanted. they made me leave so you can have a future."

Zeke ignored the new wolf and picked up lilla who was still protesting and carried her to the den she had be taken from, he puts her inside and runs away as fast as he could, his side bleeding a little more with each step he took. finally he stopped, and saw the den that Jewel and he were in the first night, he slowly approches it his mind racing what if jewel dies, what would he do?

Jewel cries for him "Zekeeee" fear in her voice. The females were putting herbs on her. She snaped at them and whimpered

hearing her call he darts inside and growls, His heart races seeing all they are trying to do is help her, he walks up to Jewel and nuzzles her "i'm here Jewel, I'll always be here"

Jewel nuzzles him "ooowwwwww" she cries as they press a herb on her. Jewel growls and snapps at them.

Zeke moves so she bites him, "no jewel they are only trying to help you"

Jewel growls they hurt me. She stands and staggers a bit.

Zeke looks at Jewel "there trying to help love, they are trying to make your side stop hurtting you."

"Zeke I.....I..just want to go home with you" jewel says not being able to think straight.

"See in you can get her to drink this it'll put her to sleep so we can put the herbs on" the female says

Zeke growls "i wont force her to do anything against her will." zeke turned to Jewel "we are home untill we are both better." he licks her reasuringly, "I wont leave you", he lays down and nods for Jewel to lay beside him

Jewel lays down and puts her head deep in his fur. The female looks at Zeke "can I put it on now" she says

Zeke gives them a sharp look "gently"

another female come and puts herbs on Zeke. As soon as herbs are on both the say "now don't move for 3 hrs or it'll fall off and we'll have to start all over again"

Jewel cries

Jewel whats wrong?

Jewel was in a lot of pain. "I love you Zeke" she falls asleep

Zeke licks Jewel "I love you too Jewel" his eyes slowly drift shut.

Afod comes in. He was hoping Zeke would be awake to talk alone with him

Zeke looked up when afod's sent came into the den

Zeke lifted his head looking at Afod

"We need to talk" afod says in a whisper

He lays down across from him

"Im being banished with you and jewel...." afod says to him

Zeke nodded and looked at Jewel, he gently licked her forehead to make sure she was fully asleep and unaware of the convosation. when she didnt stir he looked at Afod, Zekes ears pull flat "you want us to leave... now?"

"what of my little sister?" Zeke's tone wasn't agressive but had a hint of worry,

"They said she can stay but will never know of you jewel or your pack. She will be raised as theirs. I am hoping by that time she can eat meat and....you can take her" afod says sadly

"In four days the councel will meet this time with you and jewel." He says

Zeke pulled his ears flat, "She would be safer here, She wouldn't know the harshness of not having a pack to religh on," zeke laid his head down. "if Jewel is better in three days, we will leave, maybe they wont kick you out if we leave on our own."

"No I am being banished for letting jewel in. Her pack was our top of the list enemy..." afod looks sadly looking at jewel "they will kill her if she returns here."

Zeke sat up and turned he pulled off the herbs off his injury, and sat up, "they should have came to us first." Zekes eyes were narrowed, "who decreed such a thing?" he looked at Adof,

"Shhhhhhhh" afod sits up. Jewel stirs in her sleep and whimpers a little.

"Afod, who said this?" Zekes voice only barely above a whisper.

"The old alphas who is now the wise" afod says "lay down you will ses them in four days" afod said sturnly.

Zeke stood up not disturbing Jewel's resting, "Afod come with me." Zeke exited the den and looked at Afod stirnly "Take me to the wise, if there so wise then i wish to ask them something at this point. I wont let on I know about the banishment"

"You can't not yet...you need to rest" afod says blocking him.

Zeke shook and lunged at Afod catching him of gaurd, he pinned the alpha rather easy, Zeke's fangs close to Adof's thoat, " as of the moment my father died, I became alpha of my pack my pack includes, Lilla, and Jewel. Because I am an alpha, as are you, and your letting the old alpha's rule your pack. as far as i'm concerned, YOUR NOT THE ALPHA THEY ARE. and i request a meeting with the alpha's"

Zeke Looked intensely at Afod, waiting for an answer

Before Afod could answer Jewel stumbles out "that's enough....."

Zeke got off of Afod and glared at him.

"Zeke he's alpha....the wise might say but Afod carries the althority. We had that in my pack too....and he's right im in my enemys territory I am surprised im not dead yet" jewel says sturnly "I will talk to the councel tomorrow"

"He has went against his will for us Zeke you should be thanking him"

zeke stood up and walked away from both of them, he approced a den and sat outside of it he sniffed the ground and approched, "may i enter?"

"Come in child" fay says. She's an older wolf and part of the councel but you don't know it

Fay lays on her bed and cleans her paws

enters and approches the she-wolf, "i need help, but I dont know anyone here, to talk to," he turns his head away, "I'm worried about the humans the pack killed 2, and, humans are vengefull, they will return with more dogs and more men with guns, I fear for what remains of my pack, and this pack too. I fear for Jewel and for Lilla, after my father died, I was the last male of my pack so does that make me alpha male. I just, I'm sorry I'm bothering you durring your bath."

Fay stands up showing she's ten times bigger "come here Zeke" she says. She knew his name before he said it "little one you are now an alpha as for your sis" fay stops and waits for him to come to her.

Zeke approches the old she-wolf, he lowers his head in respect, "I want her to be safe" his voice is almost crying, "i want her to be raised in a pack so she doesn't have to feel the harshness of being alone, of fearing where her next meal will come from so i want her stay here, but she keeps begging me to take her, and i... I dont think i can, i cant teach her anything, I'm not wise, I'm not strong, and i dont know what to do" he was full out crying now

"But hun weather she stays or goes she will have a pack...you and jewel are her pack. I tell you what when she can eat meat you come back and get her. If she decideds to go she can." Fay says "you and jewel can teach her together"

"he laid down shaking his side was hurting him, he had moved about 20 minutes prior to the herb to take full effect,  "I cant, I'm not my father. I cant raise her," Zeke was quivering and he felt his tears dripping of of his muzzle, "I cant, I cant do anything right," he slowly staggered to his feet, "i'm sorry, I just, i just needed another wolf's opion. will Lilla be safe here, If Jewel and i didn't return?"

Fays ears purked up "wait" she stood up and sniffed the air she goes to Zeke. "Humans....there a day away. Do me a favor go to afods den and tell him we have to move now" she says. She had the ability to smell them a mile away being wise.

Zeke was shaking, he had made a tough choice, "I'll leave tonight, But i have a request ma'am. Can your pack watch over Jewel untill she's healed? She may be cranky at times but, She saved me a long time ago. when, When my father had banished me because he thought i killed a pup."

Jewel lays in the den afod attending to her wound
Zeke looked at the old-she wolf, "I know you may not have a say so in it but, If Afod asks for your advice as i have, I ask that you tell him that Jewel, Is everything to me. and I wish her to stay here untill i return for her, I... I have to know if the humans are planning on hunting this pack, so I'm going to travel to the human dens and see how many humans there are."

"No you are going with us and as councel I order you to. Now go tell Afod the humans are a day away tell him fay says we have to move now" fay says.

Zeke froze looking at the old she-wolf *she was part of the councel? she's bigger than afod!* Zeke nodded slowly and turned exiting the den he was limping more than anyone really realized, he made it back to Afod, the anounced "Fay told me to tell you Afod the humans are a day away and we have to move now!" Zeke's voice was stronger than it had been with the old she-wolf. if he had known that she was part of the councel he wouldn't have been so weak in frount of her, he felt like an idiot for not realizing she may be part of the council.

Afod looks up sharply. He goes to the door and lets out a low howl to move one only the pack can hear. He returns and a male comes up "zeke let him carry you and don't fight" Afod says picking jewel up and running out.

They catch up with the others all the pups inculding lilla sleeping in the mouths of the adults.

A gaurd of males protecting the circle as the ran/walked.

Zeke became silent and allowed the wolf to carry him. Zeke's eyes looked grave and slowly he closed them. his crying had exausted him, his body was limp in the wolf's mouth.

Fay leads the pack lilla in her mouth

he dreamed of when his father banished him, not letting him get a word in to explain the pup's condition, then it turn to him running to Jewel, and him leading the first pack of hounds away. before he knew about the guns man carried with him. Zeke flenched in the wolfs mouth as he refeels the gun shot the first time. he let out a yelp in his sleep as the wolf carries him.

they wolves end up in a cave 2 days away from the humans. They travel with great speed. Fay puts lilla down and orders that jewel and Zeke be near her.

Jewel wakes up a little as Afod puts her down next to lilla. The male carrying Zeke put him down on the other side

Zeke had been sleeping the entire time, reliving the gun shot, and his fathers harsh words, Zekes paws at the ground when he's put down. he doesn't wake when he's laid down. he just sleeps a little more quitely.

Jewel tail curls and goes over Zekes as if she knew his dream.

Lilla wakes and yawns she wags her tail and licks Jewel's muzzle all over and looks at Zeke she jumps on him but then back up and whines, her paws were sticky she had landed on the wound from the second gunshot.

Fay comes over "lilla shhh let them rest come eat" fay says in a whisper.

Lilla nodded and followed Fay, she looked back and Zeke, she ate, -Zeke's breathing increased again as the hounds in his dream were on him, his paws hitting the ground faster, his paws stopped when once more he realized he was trapped and when he turned to Face the hunter its shinny metal aimed at him. the pericing pain shotting threw him, Zeke woke up

Jewel was awake already she laid there. She moved closer to him "hi" she whisper to him

Zeke nuzzled Jewel and staggered to his feet, "where are we?" his voice wasn't all the way there, but his limbs were exausted

"I gues we had to move" jewel says.

Afods daughter came "hello you two lay down be still" she says. Her fur all black and a spot on her fur of white. Her eyes yellow

Zeke nodded and laid back down, he panted and curled into a ball, hiding his wound and laying on it.

"My name is miko" she says "you should really let your wound get air" she says to Zeke as she puts herbs on jewel

Zeke staid curled up.

"Zeke" jewel says a little firm "do it" she says nuzzling him.

Zeke rolled over letting miko near his wound, he remaind silent.

Jewel sits up and tends to Zeke's wounds

Fay walks up a sad look upon her face. "They burned our dens" she says so everyone can here them

Zeke shook but staid still,

Lilla walked up between Fays paws and looked up at her, "were are we going to go Fay?"

Jewel stands over Zeke a little playfull and nuzzles him "I love you" she whispered

Fay nuzzles lilla "we are going to our friends" she says

Zeke stood up, and nuzzled Jewel, softly he whispers, "are you well enough to leave this pack?" his voice was a little sad

Jewel looks at him and shakes her head no "if you want to leave I will come"

Zeke shook his no. he sits down. he watches Fay, he stood up and approched fay, he lowered his head in respect once more.

Fay looks at Zeke and smiles "how do you feel Zeke?" she says nuzzling him back

Zeke flenches a bit and sits down, "alright ma'am. I'm sorry to hear about your dens, I've heard of a land humans cant live in. they fear it because its dark for many moons of year."

Fay nuzzles him "you know zeke the councel had a meeting and althoght jewel is an enemy we have decided...." fay pauses and smiles "the councel would like to say we accept Zeke and Jewel as a member of the pack" the whole pack barks and jumps with excitement

Zeke looked around. and then nodded, he backed back up. and laid back down near Jewel, he kept his ears flat

Jewel's breathing was heavy and it looked as if she wasn't breathing. Her eyes closed so she could concentrate

Zeke sat up, and licked Jewel. "honey? are you alright?"

Jewel didn't answer. Afod looked at Zeke "what's wrong...." he says sharply

"Jewel doesn't look like she's breathing" he looked worried at Jewel he helped her to lay down, he licks her muzzle and whines

Afod quickly ran to her and nuzzled her nose. Her breath was shallow "Zeke remeber I told you she has to have the will power..." he says

Zeke whined, and laid flat, his ears tight against his head,

Fay hushes everyone even the pups.

"Zeke give her the will to live...." afod says "only you can do it"

"She can hear you little one" fay says

Zeke shook, then moved close to Jewel and licked along her forehead, he then closed his eyes and whispered to her ear, "I need you to stay with me Jewel, I..I.." he shakes "I cant lose you, please I need you," he backs away from her and lays down infrount of her, "I love you Jewel please, who else would take care of me when my father banished me? who else would i would i face and entire army of hounds for, Jewel Your stronger than i am you cant die not yet. "

The pack watches tears in their eyes. Afod watches "that's it Zeke let her know" he nods to fay. Fay nudges lilla to them "go jewel needs her pack right now" she whispers in lillas ear.

Jewel lays there breathing still the same.

His words filling her mind and she breaths a little better.

Zeke coughs and moves closer to Jewel he wraps his tail around hers, he lays his head along her neck, "I'd give my life to save yours, I i love you Jewel," lilla walks up and she licks jewel's cheek, "i wouldn't be here if you hadn't saved me Jewel, please Zeke needs you, i need you, we need you," Lilla's voice was almost silent she curled up against Jewel

Jewel stops breathing after a minute. Afod knows what's happening "zeke,lilla don't panic watch" he says watching

Zeke was shaking, he's eyes closed tight,

After a minute jewel takes a gasp of breath and she starts breathing normal again. Her eyes slowly open.

Lilla opened her eyes and watched

lilla jumpped up and licked Jewel's face,

jewel moaned a little.

Afod came to Zeke and nuzzled him "you did great"

Zeke's body kept quivering he curled closer to jewel, he coughed, and continued to shake

Mute the wolf that carryed him came to his side and put herbs on him.

Zeke lifted his head almost instantly, and looked at the wolves  around him, his ears pulled flat, he got up slowly, he shook his head and walked outside and laid down, his eyes were closed and his tail was tucked under hindlegs, he laid outside, his stomache growled and he laid down on his side and closed his eyes

Jewel comes to him "zeke you ok?" she could barely stand.

Zeke's tail thumpped against the ground, his eyes were still closed, he hadn't eaten since before his father had died, at least two days pior to that, and he hasn't had anything to drink in days either. Zeke lifted his head and licked Jewel

Afod brought out a rabbit "here Zeke... Jewel.... eat" he says.

Zeke nudged the rabbit closer to Jewel wanting her to eat before he did

jewel takes a bite and nods for him to eat. She watches to see if he will.

Zeke takes a bite from the rabbit and swollows it and lays his head back down his tail wagging he closes his eye happy to know Jewel was feeling up to eating.

Jewel takes another bite and watches to see if he was going to eat. Every bit he took she took one to.

Zeke's tail wagged and he let out a yawn, he felt the exaustion hitting him all at once, his tail continued hitting the ground

"Come on baby a few more bites" she says to him nuzzling him to eat.

Zeke lifted his head, his tail thumpped the ground he was just happy to have Jewel awake and able to talk to him. he bent down and took about 4 more bites leaving the rest of the rabbit for Jewel.

Jewel finishe the rabbit and nuzzles him. She came closer and licked his head cleaning him "I heard you...." she says hoping he'd know what she was talking about

Zeke licked at Jewel, "i'm glad, I couldn't live without you Jewel"

"I couldn't live without you Zeke. I was never brave before I met you. I wasn't a runner either but the other day I knew you'd come back for me so I ran" jewel says nuzzling him.

Zeke's tail wagged, he laid his head on the ground, the cool grass feeling good agaist his body, he let his eyes drift shut. his tail wagged. but he was too tired to really move at this moment, his stomache was twisting on its self, he fell into a deep sleep. Lilla came to the entrence of the cave and looked at Jewel and Zeke. she was worried about her brother, but didn't say anything

Afod came and picked Zeke up takeing him inside.

Jewel stood and staggered a bit before comeing to lilla "and how is my favorite girl" she says nuzzling her

lilla's tail wags "im good," she licks at JEwel "hows my favorite sister?"

"Im good" jewel says. "Zeke will be ok too he just need to eat"

lilla nodded and moved close to Jewel and followed her inside.

Jewel came and laid by Zeke. She nuzzles and licks lilla.

Afod and fay came over "we need to talk to you three..." they said

Lilla laid beside Jewel and yawned, "Is Zeke ok? he doesn't look like he feels good." Zeke lifted his head hearing lilla talk and looked at Jewel his tail wagged. and he laid back down, he felt like he needed to rest, but looked at Afod and Fay.

"Seeing you three are a pack....you will be a pack in our pack. We are allowing you to play with lilla and lilla only when you are all older you can choose to leave if you wish. Until the mute and niome are to take care of you..." fay says.

Zeke wags his tail, he sits up slowly "I have a request of you both,"his voice was only above a whisper. "please allow lilla to stay with the other pups, untill we leave. She I know misses the pups from my pack, and as of right now I can not play with lilla, I am not feeling to well,"

"Zeke you are not leaving us we accepted you in our pack your one of us" afod says.

Zeke nodded and laid back down, he closes his eyes,  Lilla jumpped over to Zeke and landed on his nose pulling at his ears, she was hyper and wanted to play.

Jewel quickly got lilla off "lilla don't play with Zeke yet he needs sleep ok" jewel says picking her up. "Why don't you go play with the other pups for now while he sleeps ok" jewel nudges her to the corner where the pups were.

Lilla nodded and bounded over to the pups she yipped and barked wanting to play, the other pups practickly tackle her and pin her down.

Jewel watched lilla and almost came to her aid but didn't. She needed to learn to fight "comeon little one fight back" she says in a low whisper to herself

Lilla yelped and whined frightened, she broked free and ran back to Jewel she was whining and scared the other pups looked confused watching lilla but then one of them bounded and tacked another pup and soon all the pups were rolling over each other pinning one another down. "Zeke's nicer than pup" lilla was in tears, they had scared her, some were bigger than she was

Jewel licked her for comfort "they are teaching themselves how to live...." she says "you can't always run away...." jewel says "that's what my mommy told me

Lilla looked up at Jewel she nodded and went back over, the pups bounded at her, lilla dropped down into a omega posstion she rolled to her back, the biggest of the little pups came over to her and tugged on her ear he was a little rougher than he ment to be lilla whined and pawd at the male pup and backed away her tail tucked under her.

Jewel comes and nuzzles lilla "come I will teach you ok" she says

the big pup walked around the group he was head butting the paws of the larger wolves, he saw Zeke his ears perked up he walked over, "your that alpha pup who was taken in our pack, Your no alpha your a pup! and look at you your sleeping!" the pups voice was high pitched and rather annoying, the little male moved close to Zeke and grinned big, he started pretending that Zeke was his prey and with the mightest pounce he jumps Zeke and pins him down, he snarls and snaps at Zeke's ears and eyes, he claws Zekes nose Zeke sat up being woken by the pup he looked at it and pulled his ears back as the little male let out a terrified yelp, - Lilla nodded and followed Jewel

Jewel watched the pup run and giggled. She leads lilla to Zeke and faces her "first is speed little sister...." jewel paws at her and hits her on the ear softly but hard so she can learn.

Zeke laid his head back down watching the little male whine and yelp like he had been bitted, "Shh its ok little one, your ok just pull your foot out of the whole and you will be alright," Zeke's voice wasn't demanding nor was it strong but it did sooth the little male's fear, he nodded and pulled his foot free from the little hole, Zeke stood up he picked up the male and took him back to the other pups, Zeke's steps were staggered but he managed it, the little male looked up at Zeke then backed up moving closer to the other pups, Zeke moved back the the hole and dug at it making it larger, inside the hole he found a Vole, he pulled it out, the vole still squirming he took it to lilla, Lilla looked at Zeke, he laid the Vole down,

Jewel laid down and watched Zeke take care of lilla. Afod watched what happened. "Its almost hunting time" fay says to him

Zeke looked at Fay and the others, he felt like he had been out of the den, like he wasn't really here. he held downt he vole and talked to Lilla not really thinking it was he who was speaking, "Lilla when hunting or playing you have to remember the power you hold in your Jaws and claws, and that power is what defines your hunting possition and your stat in a pack.

"Zeke rest" jewel says standing up to him and nuzzling him.

Afod gathered 8 males and left to hunt

Zeke looked to Jewel and then down to Lilla, "this vole is for you to pratice on. dont kill it ok? It wont fight back, I just want you to practice your pouncing and logic reasoning, If you pick it up becarefull not to break its fragile skin, and when Jewel sees its time to show you how to do such things as hunting you have this vole to pratice on."

Jewel smiled at zeke and nuzzled him she then whisper in his ear "baby rest you need strength"

Zeke nodded and let the vole go its tiny heart pounding Lilla realized now was her time to try to get it, she chased after it and caught it between her large paws,  she looked and it was laying there and looked up at Lilla wided eyed, Lilla let go of it and let it run again, she soon was able to catch it between her teeth in a full run without hurting it, it had grown use to Lilla being gentle with it and knew that soon it would be its time to feed the young pup.

Zeke laid down watching his tail wagging before long he felt his exaustion taking hold of him once more,

Jewel licked his fur and humming. "I love you Zeke" she says when she gets to his ear.

Lilla was growing tired and before she knew it she had accidently killed the Vole she let out a whine when it wouldn't run from her any more, she nosed it and pawed at it but it didn't move she picked up its tiny body and brought it over to Jewel and whined

"its like father. its dead" Lilla says rather sadly

Jewel got up and nuzzled it hard trying to revive it "come on little guy breath...." she says.

Zeke sat up a few moments later and saw the dead vole, he licked Lilla's forehead, "its alright, It will take time for you to get use to your strengh, as of now, this is your first kill Lilla and as such you can eat it or give it to someone as an offering." Zeke's voice was tired.

Jewel laid back down "Zeke im worried about you...." she says softly..

Zeke looked at Jewel, "why? I'm just tired, thats all."

Lilla picked up the dead vole and took it over to fay, "Zeke said since its my first kill i can take it to who ever i want," she lays it down, "and i want you to have it, momma use to say Voles are good for older wolves they give them nutrence that deer doesn't have"

Fay smiles at the pups offer "your first kill would you like to shared it with me?" she says nuzzling lilla.

Lilla yipped and wagged her tail, "Zeke says when someone offers to share that means they like you" lilla giggles and curls up near Fay, she pushes the vole to her and wags her tail.

Fay tears a strip and chews it so its so easy she can just swollow it. "Yes that's true." (The meat doesn't make lilla sick ok....lol) fay takes a bite for herself.

"I like the sent of the vole" Lilla eats the meat and wags her tail happily.- Zeke watched Lilla. he licked Jewel's neck and curled close to her."

Jewel nuzzles Zeke "sleep please" she says.

Fay looks at lilla "would you like another piece?" she asks when she's done with that piece

"yes please Fay!" lilla was excited, -Zeke had fallen asleep and was curled close to Jewel

Fay chews another piece for lilla "do you like it" she says.

Jewel had watched over Zeke and soon fell asleep with her head next to his. He could fill her breathing as well as she felt him

Lilla nodded eatting the meat

Fay gave lilla the last bite "your getting to be a big girl now you can eat chewed meat... you will still need milk. Thank you for sharing little one" she says licking lilla's muzzle clean

Lilla wagged her tail and licked at fay "before dad made Zeke leave he would tell us stories of how the wolves would clean each other cause they cared and it would keep the ranks, and how he loved the feeling of mom rubbing her head along the top of his. he told us about a hunt once, he only knew about it cause he followed them after being told to stay home. but daddy got mad at Zeke for letting Cave sleep, and made Zeke leave. Cave died 12 moons before the human dogs came," lilla whined.

Fay listened "really...hmmm...lilla why don't you go get some milk before the meat makes you sick ok...." fay says as she finishes licking her muzzle.

"dad said Zeke would be next alpha but then dad made him leave, when Cave woke dad felt bad and went to find Zeke but he said he found the smell of hounds around our territory and Zeke's sent dissapeared under the hounds." Lilla moved a little closer to fay and whined, "Zeke came back and helped us even though dad was so mean to him, he said Zeke wouldn't be apart of the pack anymore, But dad seemed happy when Zeke and Jewel and i were together, he said we were a pack."

"Yes little one you are a pack" fay says licking her own muzzle clean

Lilla nodded and got up and went over and got milk from the young female, she soon fell asleep. -Zeke's eyes were open again he didn't want to move cause he knew that Jewel needed sleep but at the same time he needed to go away for about 2 minutes to do is busness and he'd be back so he stood and walked away from the pack a ways and hicked his leg, after feeling better he turned to go back.

Fay is at the enterence. A sad look upon her face. She lays there and looks at the sky. She sighs.

Zeke approched Fay, he sat down looking into the old she-wolf eyes, "whats wrong?"

Fay looks down at him "its nothing dear...." she lied "how do you feel?"

Zeke watched Fay's face he knew something was wrong. "Fay, Please i'm not as nieve as some other wolves, when you answer my question i'll answer yours."

Fay smiled "my time is close where I join the stars" she says a little sad. "That's all" a tear fell down her face and she looked up holding back the other tears

Zeke licked the Old she-wolf's face, Zeke wagged his tail happy that Fay would trust him with such a truth, he laid beside her, "you know," his voice was a little stronger after his sleep, "The stars are where the greatest wolves go, they always have a plentiful suply of food and never feel old, and the pups never know fear and look the the wise for guildance, The stars are where you maybe in the future but for now, your part of the pack, even after you leave for your journy to the stars, Your pack will remember you, and always hold you in there hearts," Zeke laid his head down, "I can tell your afraid."

Fay puts Zeke between her paws "I do not fear for myself but my pack...I am the counsel and when I die Afod will have noone to lean on since his mate neme died I fear he will have the pack be lost forever" she says nuzzling the top of his head.

"And in a way I fear of you and jewel. You two are wiser then any pups I know and you put such responsibilty on your selves that I find you two almost wiser then me" fay says.

Zeke looked up at Fay he hadn't felt this way in a long time, he curled close to fay, "Jewel is smarter than i am." Zeke says simply

"And yet I envy you two because you are wise and can lean on eachother as partners....if one gets lost the other can find with your heart" fay says.

zeke nodded, "But if I hadn't have been banished from my pack i never would have met Jewel, It may have been my father's mistake to banish me but, it was my greatest blessing. Yes I may have been foolish trying to draw the dogs away from the waterfall cave, but she had a snake bite and she would have died," Zeke tells Fay of all that happened up to the point where they met up with her pack.

"See you leaned on her by making the dogs chased you but with jewels heart she found you.....she did the same when you got lost. She leaned on you when she too ran from the dogs knowing you would find her....and again when she died...." fay looked at him when she says that knowing he may not know jewel died.

Zeke lowered his head,"I felt my heart tear I feared she was gone forever, I feel like i'm a dream, that she hasn't died. Like the dream i had when i chased her and she was faster than me and she disappeared, when i turned i saw her in the hounds mouth and it killed her. I'm i'm afraid. I cant be an alpha if i'm afraid"

"You can have fear and be an alpha....look at me I fear and im alpha female" fay says.

Zeke looked up at Fay he nodded,

Fay licks the top of his head "its ok to fear"

Zeke nodded.

Jewel wakes up to see Zeke isn't there.

She looks around and stands to stretch

"Fay, When my mother use to care for me she would put me between her paws and nuzzle my forehead, and it would calm me no matter what." Zeke looked up at Fay, "I'm feeling better not much but better," his voice was shaky again and he laid his head down closing his eyes, he missed Jewel but knew that Fay needed him at this moment, she was now after all apart of his pack.

Fay nuzzled his forehead and nuzzles him. "Jewel is up go to her" she says

Zeke rose and nodded to Fay, he walked to Jewel he nuzzled her right away and licked her neck and her ear.

Jewel nuzzles him "how do you feel" her tail wagged elegently.

"better, alot more now that i'm with you once more." Zeke licked Jewel as though he hadn't been with her in such a long time.

Jewel licks him all over "I was so worried about you" she says nuzzling him and touching noses.

Zeke jumpped and playfully nudged Jewel

Jewel nuzzles him and jumps on him knocking him down. She licks him once he falls and whispers in his ear "I love you"

Zeke licks her Muzzle and wags his tail "I love you too." Lilla was still sleeping in the back with the female, Zekes heart was pounding and he pushed Jewel off of him and nuzzled her lovingly

Jewel nuzzled him then licked his wound. Fay came in and watched them interact. She smiles at the puppy love they shared

Zeke looked up Jewel

Jewels wounds were opening up but she didn't pay any attention. She kept licking his wounds.

Zeke got up and licked at Jewel's wounds

Jewel lays down on her stomach licking her paws. Afod came back with the rest rabbits and dears in there mouths. They place them in the middle. "Pups who eat meat step forth and come eat" afod says sitting down at the head of the meat. Soon 9 pups jewel and Zeke's ages comes from every other wolf.

Afods daughter and son join in eating

Zeke whispered to Jewel "go and eat."

Jewel gets up "come with me" she nuzzles him affectionatly and watched him.

Zeke stood and followed close to Jewel

Jewel touched noses with him as animals do when the kiss. She sat once at the food and waited for Zeke to eat.

Zeke looked at the kills he was feeling up to eating yet, his stomache wasn't settled

Jewel took a bite after a minute. Fays to Zeke "not hungry?"

Zeke looked at fay "no im not"

"Can this little one take your place" she nudges a small pup to Zeke. She was the smallest pup there being the runt and all. She looked like a little pup still nursing but she wasn't. She was all black with a white patch of white shaped as a heart on her name "her name is Nez" she says

Zeke nodded and stepped back

Nez hopped forward she only had 3 legs her back one missing. She started eating.

Zeke pulled his ears flat, he thought to himself she was a brave pup,  Zeke turned and walked back over to where he had woken and laid back down letting out a yawn and laying his head down between his paws.

Jewel stops eating and brought a piece to Zeke "please eat you need it" she says.

Zeke looked at Jewel he nodded for her to lay next to him he softly told her how his stomache was feeling, "its twisting and it curls up on me, it feels like i'm full though i haven't eaten much,"

"Oh you should eat a bite or two" jewel says. Licking him.

Zeke closes his eyes and licks Jewel back nodding, he took a bite and instantly his stomache turn on him and he curled up

Fay brought a flower they called Nickturn to him "drink the nectur it'll settle your stomach" she says.

he did as he was told, he wasn't feeling up to argueing with anyone today, he yawned and curled into a tight ball closing his eyes

Jewel curls around him and nuzzled him

Zeke let out a whimper and gently nuzzled Jewel,

  jewel licked his fur as he fell asleep. She fell asleep soon after him. Fay went to lilla. "How is my big girl today" she says nuzzling her

Lilla yawned and was just waking up "i'm good," she wags her tail and paws at Fay happily unknowing of what Fay had told Zeke

*zeke sleeps for the next 4 days*

Jewel wakes on the forth day and stretchs her wound were closing up. She nuzzled Zeke and whispers "I love you" as she has done for the past three days.

Zeke stired and looked at Jewel his tail wags, "I love you too" he whipers

Jewel happy to see him up jumped a little and nuzzled him affectionatly "your awake....how do you feel?" her heart pounded in her chest and she wanted to scream of joy

Zeke wagged his tail nuzzling Jewel back "alot better. he then says."

Jewel licked him. "Im glade I thought I was going to loose you"

Zeke looked confused he had seen her yesterday *he thought it was yesterday but in fact it had been almost 4 days since he last seen her* "What do you mean? I'm right here i haven't left"

"Zeke you slept for 3 moons and four suns" she says laying next to him touching his nose. "They only time you partway woke was to drink nectur from the nickturn flower" jewel says.

Zeke looked at Jewel and then around the cave, everyone was starting to wake.

Fay sits and says "everyone we must move to another location. Grab a pup" fay comes to zeke and jewel "mute is going to carry Zeke and afod will carry jewel" she says to them.

The pack grabs the pups fay picking up lilla.

Zeke stood and nodded to Fay and felt a little light headed.

Mute pick Zeke up and Afod picked jewel up.

Zeke goes limp in mute's mouth

(Mute can't talk remind you of someone...lol) jewel watches zeke and hopes he'd look at her

Zeke's eyes drifted to Jewel but then he closes them falling asleep as mute carries him

Jewel watches him sleep. She hated to be carried but with her still injured she couldn't walk like the pups her age who walked and played in the middle

Lilla pawed at Fay's chest as they were carried soon she grew tired and let out a yawn, she was getting to be the size Zeke was when Jewel first met him.

Jewel kept watching him til he fell asleep

Lilla whined as she slept he yipped and growled thinking she was attacking a rabbit or something

Fay hummed to calm lilla.

Fay stops and lets the pups play. She lets everyone rest

Zeke squirmed frantickly while he was being carried after a while of sleep he jumped up

Mute puts Zeke down and afod puts jewel next to him

Afod nuzzles him

he looked around his eyes wide, he took off running away from the pack, he was panting, he stopped and looked down into a valley, he was right he was dreaming humans were close with a huge pack of hounds, and there they were.

Afod nuzzled him "shhhh its ok"

Zeke looked at Afod, "humans, and dogs"

he whines

"Shhhhh I know I smell them we are close to a town....we have pass it sooo shhhh" afod says in a whisper

Zeke nods, his heart was pounding he was breathing heavily,

Afod nods to the pack they pick all the pup even the ones walking up and followed fay. Afod picked up Zeke leaving Mute to jewel. Mute pickes jewel up and followed close behind

Zeke stays still in Afod's grip

A kid in the village sees the wolves and walks to afod.... "puppy...shhhh" he says. He says waving his arm to go by like people do cars. 

Zeke flenched and let out a whimper

The pack reaches a cave and put down the pups. Afod puts Zeke down next  jewel

Jewel licks Zeke "hiiiiii" she says nuzzling him

Zeke whined and moved close to jewel he licked Jewel

Jewel nuzzled and licked him  "you ok" she says. "pups please be quiet.....Nez weres nez....oh there she is" afod says

Zeke stood up and looked at Afod, Zeke remembered the human, puppy,, his eyes went wide and he ran out of the Cave and raced back to the human dens, he sniffed the ground and followed Nez's sent.

nez whimpered....a child had her. The one in the den was her sister. Nez cried hoping someone would hear her she was in a basket that was fliped to cage her outside with a brick on it so she couldn't escape

Zeke found her sent and followed it into the human dens, he saw Nez he yipped at her softly

Nez looked around and yiped back "help me" she cried. She yipped and watched. Terror filled her eyes.

Zeke tackled the backet he tipped it enough to allow Nez to Squeeze under it

Nez hopped out and nuzzled him. "Thank you" she says taking three hops "aren't you in my new pack" she says "with fay...."

Zeke grabbed Nez and picked her up, he whispered to her "shh" he carries her the best he can, he makes it across the empty streets and up the valley walls, he stops and looks back at the humans, the cry from the human child makes him flench he carries her another 300 feet before his energy was gone, he laid Nez down and panted.

Afod came and picked Zeke up. Nez walked behind him keeping up

Zeke looked at Nez, then up at Afod.

Jewel is laying down as they arrived "Zeke" she says running to them. Afod puts Zeke down and nuzzles him then nez. Nez walks to Zeke "thank you" she says and hops over to the other pups

Zeke pants still he wasn't exausted he was hungry, his fever had broken and he could feel the pain of hunger again

Fay brought a rabbit to him "here little one I saved this for you everyone has eaten." She says to Zeke.

Zeke opened his mouth to eat but stopped and looked at Fay and Jewel would either of you mind if i asked you to offer it to Nez first?

"Nez is eating see..." fay looked in nez's direction. Nez was eating a rabbit and messingly too.

Zeke nodded then looked at jewel, "will you share it with me?"

Jewel nuzzles him "I will" jewel laid next to him and took a bite. She had saved room for when he got there so she could eat with him.

Zeke ripped off a large piece and ate it hungerly, he felt like he was starving, he then licked his muzzle and looked at jewel and nuzzled her he was still out of breath, but he was feeling better. "The humans trapped Nez in a cage." Zeke waited for jewel to eat some more

Jewel ate took a bite "really....." jewel says nuzzling him back.

Zeke ate more and laid his head down, he had been terrified of the human dens, dogs had been barking all around, some chained up some loose in the streets. they weren't as agressive as the hounds that had attacked the pack and him, but still they were there in great numbers, Zeke wondered if he was the only one scared. his side hadn't bothered him but now as he calmed down, it was starting to ache a little bit. he turned and licked at it. he then faced Jewel and wagged his tail. "yes and i got her out." he was proud of himself but he didn't really realize it.

"Im proud of you.....im scared of the humans" jewel say.

"I'm scared of humans too." Zeke was temped to finish the rabbit but insted waited for jewel.

Jewel looked at the rabbit "finish it im full" she nuzzles him

Zeke nodded and devoured the rest of the rabbit. he was licking at the bones and chewing on them, he was still hungry but tried to make it look like he was cleaning his fangs after eatting as his father had tought him.

Nez hopped over with a rabbit in her mouth she placed it infront of Zeke. Only a little bit was eaten. The small pup couldn't finish it "here you can have this" she says in a cute small shy voice.

"Thank you for saving me" she says

Zeke looked at Nez, "you need to get your strenth up, you finish the rabbit ok." Zeke was hungry but he could wait untill the next hunt to eat now.

  "No I have a small tummy I can't eat that much" nez says shyly. She blushes because he is talking to her

"I ate what I could" she says.

Zeke sits up and tiltz his head. "well then ok. Thank you Nez"

Nez turns showing her missing leg as a pup calls her

"Reminds me of the three legged deer that took care of me" jewel says sadly.

Zeke's youngest sister had also been born with three legs.

zeke nodded

  jewel nuzzles him to eat.

Zeke finnished eatting and stood up. "I need to talk to afod and then i want to ask Fay something but i really wish to speak with afod first."

Afod lays in the corner. He licks his paws clean.

Zeke approches Afod and sits down, "what made the council change there minds about banishing us?"

"Fay is the councel and she has warmed to you and jewel as her own pups" afod says.

Zeke nodded, "this i hope means you will be able to stay aswell. I'm sorry i said you weren't an alpha. I was wrong."

"I don't know what they will do about me...most likely I will step down and let the omega's be alphas" afod says "the council meets at dawn to decide my fate" he says

Zeke nodded, "take care Afod."

Afod nuzzles him "you too my son....look after your pack ok" afod says.

It was almost as if he was saying goodbye

Zeke looked at Afod, his tail wagged as he called him his son, he bounded over to Fay, "fay guess what Afod called me his son today."

Fay looks up "huh...really" she looked afods way. He has never called anyone outside his family son or daughter.

Zeke wagged his tail, "but i came over to ask out, how did Nez loose her leg?

"Nez lost her leg by hounds...." fay says

Zeke snarled a bit, "humans have no place in the lives of wolves."

"Well see the hounds had no humans...." fay says "it was when she was a baby her mother was being hunted and a hound found Nez under a bush. He ripped off her leg and ran"

Zeke looked over at Nez his ears pulled back.

"She is strong for a runt....she does thing that you would think stop her" fay says.

Zeke nodded. "she is determined."

"Just like another 3 pups I know" fay says nuzzling Zeke

Zeke looked at Fay he was confused, He licked at Fay, "i have another question,"

"Ok ask away" fay say.

"Where is it the pack is going?"

"Fang mountain...humans never go there" fay says.

Zeke looked at Fay, "Jet use to say that fang moutain was the edge of the forbidden land, whats beyond the moutain?"

"The waste lands" fay says

"All anmials that can't be burried go there to die an so will i" fay says

Zeke looked at Fay, "I'll go with you when you leave."

"No little one you could get lost and could die" fay says.

Zeke shook his head, "I can find my way anywere so long as i have Jewel, But i want to be sure you have someone to wish you well on your way to the stars."

"I tell you what you can walk me to the wastelands but you cannot enter ok" fay says.

Zeke looked at fay he nodded slowly

Jewel came up "what's up you two?"

Zeke wagged his tail and licked Jewel, "Just talkin"

"Oooo ok" jewel says nuzzling Zeke the fay

Zeke wagged his tail and licked at Jewel's muzzle

Nez can over and jumped on Zeke "hay wanna play" she says shyly

Zeke froze and set Nez down. "No Nez I"he looked around "I need to go hunt."

Nez looks at him "umm ok"

Zeke licked Nez's ear, "When i come back then we can play possibly ok?"

"Ok" nez says excitedly

Jewel nuzzles Zeke "im going with you"

Zeke didn't know if he should play with Nez or not, but he nodded to Jewel and wagged his tail. "ok"

"Can I come to" nez says

Fays looks at them to see what he would say

Zeke nodded to Nez, "Sure, stay close ok?"

Zeke exited the cave, and sniffed the ground right away, catching the sent of rabbit he looked back at Nez and Jewel

Nez squeeze between Zeke and jewel and leaned more to Zeke. "I'll stay close" she says trying to flirt

Zeke looked at Nez and pulled his ears flat and looked at Jewel a little confused.

Jewel looked away a little bothered her tail swung around and caught with Zekes. Her ears flat at nez's tactic to flirt with Zeke.

Nez watches Zeke and pays no attention to jewel. She smiles at him

Zeke wrapped his tail around Jewels, "theres a rabbit not far from here, so uhh, Lets split up and try and catch enough to feed the pack. there are uhh" he turns moving away from Nez and counts the wolves,

"24" jewel says. "24 wolve all together"

Zeke turned and wagged is tail, "Thank you Jewel," Zeke licks Jewel's muzzle, "Lets try and get enough for 24 wolves

Jewel tried to not let nez bother her anymore but you can tell in her voice there was a bite of jealousy

Nez looked at them "I never hunted before" she admits to zeke

Jewel nuzzels Zeke "lets go"

Zeke looks at Nez and knows that Jewel is jealous, "jewel do you want to teach nez how to hunt?"

Zeke moved a bit

"Uhhh im not a good teacher" Jewel said. She is the one that taught Zeke in a way.

Zeke knew Jewel was a better teacher than him. "why dont we teach her together?"

Afod comes up "nez you need to come back for your herbs" he says sturnly

Nez looks "but I was going to hunt...." afod looks at Zeke and jewel "now"

Nez pouts a little.

Zeke watches

Afod pick her up a little irritated and goes back

Jewel watches them leave

Zeke perked his ears and turned to go and hunts.

Jewel follows him. Her fur is damp and sparkles it the sunlight like snow

Zeke had noticed her but was feeling hungry and looks at Jewel

Jewel departs the other way when they reach the rabbit she plans to draw him to Zeke so he can kill it. He knew this plan

Zeke lowered his body waiting on the rabbits

Jewel gets on the other side of it easily then starts to chase it Zekes way. The rabbit runs straight for him.

It sees him and shift postitions.

Zeke jumps up and gives chase it runs back to Jewel

The rabbit runs the other way

Jewel keeps running to it. Growling and snapping at it

She knocks Zeke over "oof"

She lands on him

Jewel laughs a little

Zeke looks up at Jewel

Jewel nuzzles him and stays on him

She looks at him a twinkle of love in her eyes

Zeke licks Jewel's nose and wags his tail

Jewel touches noses with Zeke to kiss him. She then lick him

"Well there goes our rabbit" she looks sideways as the rabbit runs off

Zeke licks back and turns looking at the rabbit as it runns off, "so it is. "he looked back up at Jewel, He had noticed Jewel growing into a fine young she-wolf.

Jewel gets off of him and sits there looking at him. Her eyes sparkled a diamond blue and her fur glistened in the light.

Zeke licked Jewel lovingly

Jewel waits for him to sit up. She watches him with loving eyes.

Zeke sat up and shook his black fur dusty from the roll in the dirt, he looked at Jewel and wagged his tail.

Jewel tucked her head under his and nuzzled him. Her tail caught with his.

Zeke's heart soard high and he licks Jewel lovingly

Jewel closed her eye never wanting the moment to end. She keeps nuzzling his chest. "I love you" she whispered.

Zeke wagged his tail "I love you"

Jewel licks him under his muzzle as a pack does to the alpha to show their respect

Zeke licked JEwel's face all over and wags his tail happily.

Fay walks up "come you to dinner time"

Zeke looked at Fay and pulled his ears back still un moving

"Afod and the others are back with food already" fay says "if you wait you'll only get a rabbit'

Zeke stood up and nuzzled Jewel, "go on love"

Jewel nuzzle him "not without you....fay we will catch our own tonight" jewel says.

Fay nods and walks away

Zeke wagged his tail and looked at Jewel

  Jewel looked at Zeke. She nuzzled him. "Lets go..." she says.

Zeke nodded and followed close behind Jewel he nuzzled her hind leg everynow and then happy that she was with him

Jewel smelled a rabbit whole and whispered "rabbit whole two rabbits....beyond the trees"

Zeke smiles and squezed into the rabbit hole after telling jewel quietly "scare the rabbits to the hole and block them in it start diggin and i'll be in there den waiting

Jewel noded and did as she was told and the rabbits come Zekes way.

Zeke managed to kill one when it entered its den but the other turned to flee back up at Jewel

Jewel chases and kills it a little bit aways. She comes back the it in her mouth.

Zeke was struggling to get out of the den with his rabbit.

Jewel comes and digs him out freeing him from the whole. She laughs a bit "your so cute" she says nuzzling him.

His fur was muddy and he licks Jewel's face, his tail wags

Jewel walks to grab her rabbit "there's a river to the west you can clean up at" she says

Zeke nodded and walked with Jewel

Once at the river jewel puts her rabbit down and goes to drink some water

Zeke sets down his rabbit. and ran jumpping into the river.

Jewel gets splashed with water and shakes it of. Her fur sparkling even more

Zeke poped his head out

Jewel watches him. She smiled

he swam around and rolled in the water playing he splashes Jewel playfully

Jewel smiles as she splashes him

Zeke looked at Jewel and swam over to the river bank he pulled himself out and looked at Jewel his black coat even darker now that it was wet.

Jewel watched Zeke get out. She smiled as he looked at her

Zeke wagged his tail and licked his forepaws drying them. he laid in the grass letting the warmth of the sun hit his damp fur. his tail wagging. "The sun is going to set soon." he looks up through the trees at the sun.

"Lets stay away from the pack tonight. I want to sleep under the stars" jewel says bringing her rabbit to him

Zeke grabbed his rabbit and moved it close to Jewel his tail wagging. "ok"

Jewel nuzzles him and licks him.

Zeke's tail wags as he licks her muzzle and nuzzles her side his tail seemed to play with Jewel, a game of tag. his tail tapping her's lightly then darting away quickly.

Jewel nuzzles zeke "tag your it" she runs

Zeke looked shocked but got his wits back and stood up and gave chase, leaving the rabbits behind. he taps Jewel's rear and turns to run the other way, "Tag your it now." he lets out a laughing howl and keeps running.

Jewel runs after him and soon catches him "tag you it" jewel runs

Zeke stops in his tracks sniffing the ground, he lets out a low whine, blood was all around this area, no sent of man. but several dead animals lay amounst the trees. he took a weary step forward, his limbs shaking. Dead birds and foxes, even a dreaded moutain lion lay in this death stricken part of the forest. it didn't seem like there would be a reason for such a odd amount of animals dead, when humans sent wasn't anywhere to be smelt.

Jewel stops. "Ummm you smell that?'"

Jewel comes back to Zeke

Zeke's focused on something deeper in this area, a sent of a wolf, he keeps moving into the area known only as Abyss.

Jewel follows Zeke "what is that?"

Zeke motions with his tail to a bush, a large femalewolf lay next to, in the bush a whine comes. Zekes ears perk up, "theres a pup!" upon reaching the bush a litter of 3 pups, 2 male one female eyes not even open yet are squirming around.

Jewel sniffs them "we have to get them to fay..." she says looking at the dead mother.

Jewel nuzzles the pups

Zeke picks up the two males who are smaller than the female

Jewel picks the baby girl up and heads out to the pack

She looks back at the mother as they leave

Zeke looks at the dead mother, something was strange, all the pups were a redish tent, and this wolf, it was a solid white.

Fay is playing with lilla. She nuzzles her affectionately

Zeke brings in the two red males. and lays them down.

Jewel right behind him putting down the female

"What's this?" fay says looking at them

Zeke didn't know what to say. were these really that females?

Fay sniffs them and looks at kaff. She nods back. "Zeke take the pups to kaff she can feed them" she says "then come tell me what this is about"

Zeke pulled his ears flat, and nodded he picks up the two males and took them over to Kaff and lay them down.

Jewel follows with the female one the way back she whispers "they looked nothing like the mother."

"i know. what if they didn't come from her but another wolf. what if the true mother adopted the she-wolfs pups and left her's to die?" Zeke seemed unsure what else to say.

"Hhhhmmmm" jewel says nuzzling him

Zeke, licks Jewel's face and turns to go back to Fay.

Fay looks at the two "what's is with the three pups" she says as they reach her

Zeke wasn't sure what to tell the old shewolf, or even how to word it.

"We found them next to a dead wolf" jewel says knowing he didn't know what to say

Fay looks at Zeke "you did... did you?"

Zeke noddes, "a dead White wolf"

"Hhhhmmm" fay says "can you take me to this wolf"

Zeke nodded and turned to lead Fay to the she wolf

Fay gets up and goes "jewel stay here and gaurd the pups"

Jewel noded and looked at Zeke

"Be careful k Zeke"

Zeke nodded and licked Jewel's face. "I will be"

Jewel nuzzled him. Then laid down

Zeke left and led Fay to the Abyss, all the dead animals still there, and the dead female

Fay sees the wolf and smelled a human close by "Zeke run to the others and tell them a human is close"

Zeke looked a Fay, "no not without you." he may have been a pup but his growl came out more of an alpha male than he's ever sounded with the old she-wolf.

Fay snaped him a look "go or the humans will kill them...." she says her voice sturn and more of an alpha type then he was use too

Zeke's eyes widen and he turns looking still at Fay, "Why wont you come back with me?"

"Im going to chase them off" fay says. She nuzzles him "thank you little one. I believe my road ends now" she says.

Zeke's fur stud on end, he turned and ran back to the Pack he Growled and snapped at the air "Humans are coming! everyone pick up a pup and " he stopped he thought about it, "And follow me. " Zeke picked up Lilla and looked at Afod, a sorrow in his eyes, he approched Adof and handed him Lilla, "Everyone change of plans, Those charring pups follow Adof to Fang moutain.  Everyone else other than Mute, and Jewel.  Go with Afod." Zeke turned to Afod

Everyone grabbed a pup and headed out. Jewel staid and so did mute. Mute was as big as afod and as muscular too. They waited instructions.

Zeke sat infrount of them, his ears pulled back, "Fay may need our help. she wont admit it but we are only going to be her back up should the humans try and harm her, thats why i only chose us." Zeke's ears perked,  "if you dont think you can handle it. then go with the others." Zeke's eyes were peircing and sturn, he obiously wasn't going to leave Fay behind.

Mute stayed where he was and so did jewel. She looked at him and smiled at him a little as he reminded her of an alpha.

Zeke stood up and signaled with his tail to follow them, he lead them to where fay was last, he softly spoke to both of them "spread out find fay, stay hidden unless she needs help."

Fay was headed to the river. She was a little further away from the humansShe knew they would pick her sent up

Zeke sniffed the ground catching the sent of the humans, he followed there sent soon seeing the humans he stayed hidden following them, and allowing Jewel and mute to find Fay. When everyone,was in place he waited for Fay to make her move.

Jewel found fay and told what happened. "Lets go" they catch mute and all the go to find Zeke. They catch up with him

Zeke looked at Fay, his eyes were sturn and he crouched back down watching the pack of humans, only one dog was with them.

Fay and jewel laid next to him watching the humans. Mute stood there

"What's the plan Zeke" fay says.

The dog with the humans wasn't hunting it was jumpping up at the people licking at there hands, it wasn't as old as Zeke was, Zeke felt these humans werent a threat, he stood up and jumpped out watching the humans, the dog whined and moved behind the humans, the humans froze and they looked afraid. Zeke took a step closer Glaring at the humans. one of the humans murmured to the other and took out a camra and took a picture, the smallest human took a step to Zeke, it was afraid the sent of there fear was think in the air.

Jewel leped out and jumped on to Zeke making it look as if the were playing so would see he's not alone. Takes a few steps and stops looking at the humans

Fay stays back and so does mute

Zeke got up as the humans all crouched down watching the wolves, a smile on there faces, Zeke come close, he sniffed the air, the pup was part wolf, Zeke walked to the humans only about a foot away he looked at them and sniffed. one of the humans laid down and rolled onto its back, showing its belly, like wolves do showing submissiveness, Zeke pulled his ears back and turned back, to Jewel he licked her shoulder and walked back into the trees, "Those humans are like the child, they wont come after the pack, there what the dogs called, animal helpers, The pup is proff of that ."

Fay steps out and growls a little. Jewel steps closer to them. They look like a mother had her pups to the humans.

Zeke licks at Fays muzzle and nudges her shoulder, "lets leave them to there own devices," the small human howled and sat up crying, Zeke turned and saw a snake, he stepped forward, but the humans bent down crying, the child's leg was swelling up faster than jewel's had when he first met her, he saw the snake slithering off, Zeke bounded over and snapped at the snake it turned and bit at Zeke's muzzle, he jumpped and put his paw on the snakes head and bit into its tiny neck killing it without being bit himself, he picked it up and carried it to the humans and laid it down, he pushed it to what he thought was the alpha male of the human pack. he male human looked at the snake and turned to his mate and yelled and picked up his son and the snake, the female put her hand on Zeke's head and pi

picked up the little wolf/dog pup and ran with her mate towards where they came from. Zeke turned to the others and approched them. he sat down. and licked his chest fur.

"They need the herbs the baby won't make it back...." jewel says running off after them and grabing the herb on the way

Fay looked at Zeke "will go back to the others you know where to find us right?"

Zeke ran at Jewel and hit her over the humans' car raced by them. Zekes heart jumpped at the thought of Jewel getting injured by the humans he just helped. "The human pup will be fine, the dogs say that humans have herbs that make everything better, they will befine, as long as they have what ever bit the human pup the pup will be alright."

"Noooo we have to help" she caught up with the humans as they were getting into the car. She yipped and the male

i love u aby says the male human

Jewel yipped once more for him to see her

She kept yipping

Zeke was beside Jewel and let out gentle yips too the human turned seeing the wolf pups.

Jewel yipped she wanted the baby to be put in front of her. She ran in circles yipping

She looked at him

the humans saw the herbs in Zekes mouth.

Jewel yipped and jumped up a little the ran to zeke then the human and yipped again.

the female human laid her child down, Zeke approched with the herbs and set them down letting Jewel do what she needed to do
  Jewel licked the wound then put the herbs in place as she does the vemon starts pouring out and down to the ground. Another herb she puts on and then looks up and yips. It needed to be tied til the hospital. She sniffed and yipped again.
She held the herb in place with her paw with little pressure
Zeke looked around and moved close to Jewel, more humans were approching them now
She yipped again at the male human
the alpha male picked up his son and put his hand over the herb holding it firmly he told his mate, they both nodded and climbed into the cars.
Jewel stepped back and watched them a little fear in her eyes
She smelled the other humans but wanted to make sure he was ok
the male alpha human looked out and said softly something in grunts and moans, and Zeke backed up and nipped Jewel's hindleg to have her move back too.

Jewel looked back and then to the human. She slowly backed up into the wooded area.

Keeping her eyes on the human male

the car drove off, soon the other humans approched the two wolves, Zeke stepped infrount of Jewel and two of the humans Grunted low like the human that had shot him, then suddenly one of the males jumpped screaming *in human* "thats the pup i shot! i thought it was dead! but here it is! and its not being agressive! this is amazing." the human moved to Zeke and ran his hand along where he had shot, "he's healed from it. but he's got uninfection, from another gunshot," the human male grabbed Zeke by his scruff and lifted him up, Zeke squirmed a bit but the human took him, -Zeke "Run Jewel the humans are going to try and grab you run! dont attack them there the hunters from the waterfall cave!"

Fay comes with 6 males and growls at the humans. Fay bit on the male holding

Zeke so he can drop him "run you two" a male from the pack called. The 6 start circling them in

Zeke fell down and let out a yelp, Zeke stood up and snarled at the pack, "no dont attack them! they will keep hunting us" Zekes eyes were desprate. the human male looked at the little pup growling at the rest of the wolves, he's eyes narrowed and he sat up he wasn't injured and he pulled Zeke closer to him and laid Zeke squirmed, he gently put his huge paw over where Zeke's infected gun shot was and gently spoke in human gunts "it needs to be looked at little pup"

Jewel stepped forth looking at the humans dead in their eye with sadness in hers. She whines a little. She steps closer. The others held there positions and waited to see what he'd do"

Jewel looked at the other wolves and yipped they all laided were the where and watched

Waiting for any sudden movements from the human

The human male yelled at one of the female's not far off, she brought something over and handed it to the human male, he looked at the young she-wolf, Jewel. Zeke's eyes closed and the human took out a sharp knife he slowly pressed it into Zeke's gun wound and zeke yelped loudly, but as soon as Zeke yelped a led stone popped out of ZEke's side, Zeke suddenly feeling alot better wagged his tail, the human smiled and grunted again, "good its ok little fella, this will hurt a little bit," he poured something that bubbled as it hit Zeke's side, Zeke squirmed and clawed into the ground.

Jewel looked at him and growled as the human poured. Her eyes full of madness she's holding back. She shows her teeeth

s eye's close as the human takes out some dead skin and the human focuses on the wound, when it started to bleed he sighed and poured more of it onto Zeke's side. and he then put something, over the wound like a leaf but sturdier, he then backed away from Zeke, the human was use to dring his hounds everynight. it wasn't wolf season right now, it was moutain lion. but in that moment the human stood up and pet Zeke's head, "Everyone I refuse to hunt wolves again when the season comes back."

Jewel smells Zeke and nuzzles him. She then picks a rose and goes carefully to the human as a thank you. She has them puppy eyes again

the human male took the rose and looked at his mate and smiled, she clapped and went into a tent and brought out a human child and set it down.

Jewel sniffs the child and licks the puppy

Zeke wagged his tail.

She yips for fay. Fay steps and looks the the human as she approaches.

Zeke stood up and staggered a bit, the human male patted Zeke's head and walked over to his pup and picked it up. he grunted to his mate"lets return home." Zeke watched and perked his ears up. he turned to the other wolves and walked into the forest, his side was hurting him but it was feeling alot better now.

Jewel steps back Fay picks Zeke up to head back to the pack

Zeke goes limp in Fays jaws his tail tucks under his hindlegs

Jewel follows close behind

Zeke falls asleep

They arrive at fang mountain with the others

Zeke squirms and jumps from Fay's mouth he looks around

Fay puts him down and goes to afod.

Jewel nuzzles Zeke "are you ok?"

Lilla runs up and licks at Jewel and at Zeke, she yips and runs over to the new pups that they had found, Zeke still wondered about them, he turned and licked

Jewel's face and nodded, "yes jewel i'm alright." Zeke's tail wags.

Jewel nuzzles him and looks at his wound "did that human hurt you"

"yes but myside feels alot better now," Zeke was surprised by how well it really did feel. he didn't have a single ache from it. he even felt like he could beat Jewel in a race. Zeke licked Jewels face and laid down streching. "So where are we" Zeke had sleptthe entire way here.

"Fang mountain" nez says coming up. Fay layed down and sighed

Zeke turned seeing Nez he nodded his thanks to her and looked at Fay, he stood up and walked over to her and sat down. "Fay? when your time comes, I believe I will take my leave from your pack." Zeke lowered his head in respect.

Fay shakes her head no. "You and jewel will stay" she says

Fay nuzzles him

Zeke looked at Fay, "But Fay." Zeke didn't want to admit it would be hard on him to stay in the pack. he pulled his ears flat, "Im still going with you when you go to the wastelands."

"Yes you can escort me" fay says nuzzling and licking his head

Zeke's tail wagged, His eyes were sad, "But i can not promise I will stay after you go Fay, It will be hard for me."

"Why not?" fay says.

Zeke looked at Fay, he could rememer he wasn't really part of this pack, he was already an alpha and as such him and his pack taking refuage in another pack is normally forbidden. he didn't know how to answer Fay's question and looked at her with pleading eyes, as if asking her not to ask him to actually answer.

"Little one you and jewel form a tight pack but you can't be on your own with human around" fay says.

Zeke pulled his ears flat.

Fay nuzzles him "ok...." she says

Zeke nodded and licked Fay's muzzle and walked over to Jewel and laid down. he wasn't really up to talking it was late and he laid his head down and closes his eyes, falling asleep."

Jewel cuddles to him and sleeps "I love you" she whispers as she falls asleep

Zeke sleeps before Jewel ever cuddled to him. Lilla comes over to Jewel and licks her nose.

Jewel opens her eyes and looks at lilla

Lilla yips and wags her tail

Jewel nuzzles lilla to lay with her. "Come lay with us" she says.

Lilla was to excited to lay down, first she had been sleeping bu then Zeke gave the order to move out and now when Zeke and Jewel were finally back they didn't want to play with her, she growled in protest and ran off to play with the other pups

Jewel closes her eyes but can't sleep the image or her mom dying played through her mind

Zeke pawed at the ground. his breathing was quickened, his muzzle twitched and his eyes did too, his ears pulled flat and he let out low whimpers of pain.
Fay stood over him and nuzzled him humming.

Jewel opened her eyes a little and wraped her tail around his

Zeke's heart was racing his paws hit harder on the ground, he yelpped and shook, each of his musles twitch.

Jewel stood and nuzzled him. "Baby its ok" she says in his ear

Zeke let out a loud yelp and then stopped moving, his breathing slowed, his legs seemed to go limp. his chest stopped moving.

Jewel nuzzled him "zeke...." fay nuzzled him a little hard

Zeke stay still, the only thing showing he was alive was the twtiching in his nose, it was slight, it it proved he was breath, if only just.

Jewels licked him and layed close to him. She wrapped her tail around his.

Zeke slept only barely breathing the entire night. he woke in the morning his legs wouldn't let him get up and he kept his eyes closed, he didn't understand why he couldn't stand,

Jewel wakes "Zeke are you ok" she says getting up looking at him

Zeke didn't want to worry anyone in the pack, so he pretended he was still asleep. he figured he was just tired and his limbs wouldn't stand because of it. and soon he drifted back to sleep

Jewel licked him "you can't fool me" she says "I know your awake"

Zeke opened his eyes slowly and looked up at Jewel he let out a whimper

"You ok how is your leg?" jewel whispers.

Zeke tried to get up but still couldn't, he closed his eyes.

Jewel looked at his wound she saw it was swollen. "Ohh hun"

Zeke's body trembled as he tried to get up he let out a whine

"Shhh don't move" jewel says. She yips for fay.

Fay comes over "what's going on"

Zeke's breathing quickened as he whined he wanted to get up to great fay as she came over.

Fay looked at the wound "oh no...."

Zeke looked up at Fay and Jewel he let out whimpers of fear.

"Jewel only humans could fix him" fay says "someone will have to return to them and get help"

"I'll do it" jewel says.

Zeke whines his breathing becoming labored

Jewel nuzzles in "please hold on for me..." she jets out and to where the human helped

Zeke. She sniffed and looked for them

the last humans were packing up, it was the man who had helped Zeke, his hounds howled and he turned seeing the White wolf, he smiled and called to her in his low grunts, he pulled out a piece of rabbit and threw it at her thinking she was hungry

Jewel yipped at them

She ran too them and yipped loudly

the human looked at the she-wolf confused look in his eyes, he bent down and gunted"whats the matter white wolf? where's little blacky? "

Jewel ran back and forth and yipped. She whined a little then yipped for him to follow

the man turned as his mate came out the gunted to each other for a while they then hugged and he grabbed a large bag and followed the she-wolf he found himself breathing hard after a few hours of running.

Jewel lead him to the cave. All the wolves hid in the back. Jewel came to Zeke who was laying in the middle.

Zeke's body had stopped moving, he had stopped breathing.

Jewel yipped at the man. She nuzzled Zeke and looked at the man.

the man approched Zeke he bent down and whispered in his grunting voice, "oh, blacky come on." he picked up Zeke carefully and carried him back to his camp sight. Zeke had started breathing but again only just. the man set Zeke down and went over to his truck and pulled a cage from it, it was a dog kennel, 5 of his hounds had been killed hunting moutain lions, one was his prized white hound, she was pregnate at the time, and he didn't mean for her to go after the lion, it just turned out that way, there father was old red, a redish hound with a long lean face, he picked up Zeke and put him in the cage. he looked at the white wolf and motioned his hand as if he was asking if she wished to come.

Jewel follows the man and whimpers.

At the camp she whimpers. She wants to go with Zeke

He put the Cage up next to the other hounds and helped the white wolf into the truck and the same cage Zeke was in. he shut the door and calmly said, "the vet will do better looking at him than i can. and blacky will need you." the dog in the cage next to zeke laughed, "why is my human helping mangy wolves. we eat wolves like you forbreakfest."

Jewels stands over Zeke and growls at them. Terror filled her but the protection of Zeke was stronger.

The dogs laughed, "what can little pups like you hope to do, like like us. your not as strong as we are." a red male growled at each dog. "shut your muzzles, These two are no more than pups, if any of you get out of line again, i'll rip each of your ears off then let my fangs dig deep into your eyes, as i did with the lion that killed my mate and my unborn pups!" his voice was strong and sounded scary. but his eyes were soft as they looked at the Jewel

and Zeke. "my human has desided not to hunt wolves anymore, this means we will not be chasing

you or your pack any longer"

Jewel let the terror in her eyes show "w....where are we going....I...I'm scared...." she said to him

the Red dog laid in his cage, then the other dogs did as he did, "our human said he was taking Blacky to the vet, Black is your friend there. and the vet heals animals like us, i've been to the vet before, I had a wound not much diffrent than your friends's and the vet healed it. as long as Blacky acts like a trained dog, a vet will care for him."
"I...I don't know what trained is but if it heals him I will tell him" jewel nuzzles Zeke "im here with you baby" she says to him in a whisper.
Zeke let out a whine that respembled a pup's, the red dog shifted a bit, "he's in a lot of pain. and trained is where you dont bite at humans, and dont act agressive to your human masters. they call it domesticated. or some odd sence like that."


Jewel nods "Zeke if you can hear me when we get there you have to not bite them ok" jewel nuzzles him.
Zeke whimpered
Jewel looks up and sees fay running after. She whimpers "go back fay.... go back.....we are ok"
Zeke whined and finally got up enough energy "Fay, Return take care of Lilla!" he howl and his body gives out, he passes out compleately
Fay stops and nods "be safe little ones" she watches them go further and further away. She returns to lilla
Lilla whined at Fay, "did you find Zeke? or Jewel?" lilla's face was full of tears.
"Yes little one they are with humans Zeke needed human help and jewel went with him" fay says sadly
Lilla let out another whine and curled up where Zeke and Jewel had been that night, she sniffed at the ground and whined crying herself to sleep.
Jewel looked around she stood over zeke as best she could but the turns over and knocking her over. She had terror in her eyes
The red dog calls to the white she-wolf, "lay down it makes the ride easier, and calmer, and you wont get hurt if your laying down. My mate looked like you young one, she was half wolf, and she was wonderful, I will not allow anything to harm you or Blacky."
Jewel looked at him "I....I'm jewel. That's Zeke" she says laying next to him
The red hound nodded, "I am Red, as the humans call me, my birth name was Rusty." Zeke managed to lift his head, he whispered to Jewel, "red wolf pups, but a white wolf"
"we have your pups....they are back at the den" jewel says to him "they were with a white female we took them because we didn't want to leave them" she looks at him to see what he would do
Red stood up at the wrong time he slid into another dog and fell over, as the truck turned a sharp corner, "my pups? there alive
?
"
"Yes there's 2 boys and a girl they are red like you except the girl has white paws" jewel says
Zeke nodded his head slowly, the red dog felt his heart explode with happyness, "i bet there bold, like she was." Red
s short tail wagging
"Not sure..." jewel says. "Do you want them back when we return"
Reds torn ears pull flat, "i love my human but i can not have them back, he would sell them and i'd never see them, they could die being trained to hunt animals like me and my pack were."

  "Yes but if we keep the dogs like them might kill them" jewel says with a little tone pointing to the other wolves.

the hounds snarled at her, "we'd never hunt our own." the dogs all cry out at once.
"Then why kill us...." jewel snaps at them
"its our masters will, if we dont hunt they wont feed us if they dont feed us we die."
"Yah well we don't have masters and get on just fine" jewel says. "She looks at one what did we ever do to you..."
the dog stood up snarling, "your kind killed the human child i lived with it was kind with me."
"Yah well I just save a pup of humans" jewel says.
the dog snarled, "IT WASN'T MY HUMAN PUP!" the dogs snarling voice echoed, and red moved over to the dog and bit its neck, the dog yelped.
"No red let him go" jewel says.
red released the hound, "like a wolf pack. my pack knows when I say leave pups alone i mean it, and Len here didn't believe me."

"Are you alpha?" jewel says

The truck stopped and the alpha human came and opened up the cage letting out red. he talked in a gunt to red "At ease red, these are new friends." the alpha male human then opened up the cage holding Zeke and Jewel, he pulled Zeke from cage, and signaled for Jewel to come out, "come on white, play with red while i take your friend into the vet."  Red looked at Jewel now that they were both free, his full size was terrifing, "yes Jewel i'm alpha male of this pack. though my human is higher than even i am. i make the final call, to keep attacking or to turn back to him. the dogs follow my lead when hunting. and an alpha cant have any fear in a dog hunting pack. it isn't allowed" red watched the human take Zeke into the vet. and come out alone

"My pa always said its ok to have fear but you must stick it out with happy thoughts" jewel says. She jumped out of the cage she shook a little and her head and tail down "I...im scared...." she admits. She starts to follow the human.

the human see's Jewel following him and shakes his head, "you have to stay" red called to jewel translating the humans gurnts "he said to stay out here."

"Why can't I go with him" she says as a sad face came upon her "if I don't he'll bit them" she whimpered.

"you have to trust in Zeke." Reds eyes were sad but he walked up to Jewel, "here follow me,"red turned and walked around the vet clinic and looked at the window not far up. "look up there, you can keep an eye on what they do with Zeke."

Jewel looked and watch "will they kill him like..."  she stopped relizing she's with the humans and bite her tongue and looked down.

Red knew that Jewel was afraid of humans, "no they will do everything they can to keep him alive." Red laid down and curled up. "this may take several days, humans like to make sure a pet is fully healthy before letting it return home. so i dont see why it would be diffrent with

Zeke."- inside the clinic the drs are bringing Zeke into the opperation room. (room that Jewel can see) the vets lay zeke on the table he had stopped breathing again. the drs had taken xrays and more. the cut into zeke after putting him on a doggie anistitic and oxygen, they opperated on Zeke for almost 5 hours, and then finally closed him up. Zeke was breathing but was on the lifesurport system created for critical condition dogs, Zeke hadn't moved at all, they left him on the table as they left the room and called for the human alpha.

Jewel looked sad as they left "zeke...." she cried a little "zeke come on....what's going on...?"

Red stood up and went to his master's side, the drs converced, Red knew what happened and came back to Jewel, "the vets from the clinic say that Zeke will live but his infection was deeper than anyone could have imagened. they had to cut out alot of tissue that will take to to grow back. they asked my human if he owned Zeke and my human said yes. so Zeke will live but it will take a few full moons for him to recover compleately. my segestion is you go back to your pack, cause the longer wolves live with humans the more they forget they are wild"

jewel looked at Red "i cannot leave my mate..." tears filled her eyes "i refuse to"

Red nodded and signaled with his tail, "keep watch over him, my human wont leave Zeke alone here."

jewel watch the window and saw her whole freedom slip away. she silently cried as her reflection came through the window.

Zeke's chest was raising and falling, and the humans all entered the room. even the alpha human. he approched Zeke and placed his hand along his side and looked up seeing Jewel, he turned and talked to the other humans and they nodded. the alpha human came out and called in his human gurnts "come whity" red translated, and signaled with his tail for her to go with the alpha human.

jewel came her tail between her legs and her eyes filled with terror. she walked slowly. "remember dont bite no matter what they do" she said to herself. her ears flatened when she got to the alpha human

The human male smiled and patted her head, he then walked into the room with Zeke and signaled for her to go to Zeke.

Jewel looked confused but when she saw Zeke she ran for him. she jumped over him and sniffed him. tears running down her face. "Zeke im here" she says to him. She whimpered.

Zeke's tail wagged and he licked at Jewel. the human started talking to the vets, and they nodded they closed the door leaving Zeke and Jewel alone in the room.

"zeke did they hurt you??" Jewel says nuzzling him again

Zeke whined, "no I feel sleepy but i dont hurt" Zekes tail wags gently thumpping against the steal table. he couldn't move still but his breathing was stronger now

"when you get better you cant bit them ok....we...i believe we are the humans pet now" jewel says scared. "i love you and im right here with you ok"

Zeke let out a whimper, and licked at Jewel. "dont say that, they are only trying to help."

"he signed the papers saying your his lets just hope he will let us go after." Jewel says "red says the longer we stay with humans the more we are Dogs"

Zeke let out a whimppered.

jewel nuzzles him "I'll be here with you I am outside that glass thing over there ok" she says showing the window. "i wont leave you ok"

Zeke licked at Jewel.

jewel licked his fur until the humans came back

the humans had left them for the night together.

Jewel had curled around Zeke and there tails intwind together by morning. she was still sleep when the humans came in

red was at the human alpha male's  side as they entered. red approched Jewel "Jewel wake, the vets need to change Zekes bandages."

jewel woke and licked Zeke once then followed Red. "where is your master" she says.

"He is outside, he was telling the other dogs and myself to stay away from the pups." Red had a serious look on his face and sat looking at Jewel. "master told his mate that when Blacky is well he will return the two wolves back to the forest where he found them." Reds tail wagged a slight bit.

"Really.." jewel says excitedly. "can i ask you something Red" jewel says curiously.

Red tilted his head to the side, "what is it pup?"

"why do humans hunt wolves...what did we do to them?" jewel asks seeing she is a pup she doesnt understand why

Red's eyes closed for a moment before answering, "humans fear what they do not understand, and they kill what they fear. there are some humans who wish nothing more than peace between human and wolf, so they made dogs, but dogs felt the feelings of the humans and sided with them. in doing so. we turned on our fellow packs, when we turned from our fellow packs the only animal willing to look after us were the humans."

jewel looked down "can you take me to your master..." jewel said she wasnt feeling to good a little Queeze

Red rose and lead the way to his owner and whined at him pawing at his shoe, the alpha male human bent down and pat Red on the head seeing Jewel he smiled and called him over to him, "come whity"

jewel whined she wanted Zeke. little tears filled her fur as she came with her head down and her tail between her legs. she whimpered more

the human sat down compleately and gently slid his hand along her fur, he was compleately surprised by how gentle these two wolves were with him. he  patted his lap. red told Jewel, "that means he wants you to lay in his lap, he's trying to show affection to you. he knows you miss your mate and is trying to help."

Jewel hopped on his lap and began to lick his chin as they do to the Alpha's of her pack. her tail was still down and tears still streamed. jewel still whimpered.

The human sang to her in a soft voice a caring voice you wouldn't think a hunter could do, he still slid his hands along her fur and he kissed her nose, trying to show he cared what happened to the two pups, he knew they were young, and he felt bad, he and his hounds had been responicble for killing 3 packs, and shooting Zeke the first time. red laid down beside master and  curled up. he was content listening to his masters singing,

jewel licked his hand and soon fell asleep in his lap. Jewel dreamed of the hunter and what was happening. She dreamed of Zeke and running freely with him too the river.

-back at lilla and the others- Lilla was sniffing around the den trying to find a hint of Zeke's or Jewels sent, they had seemed to disappear, and she felt she was the only to care.

Fay came to lilla "lilla dear whats wrong?"

"I cant smell them anymore" she whines, "there sent has gone away. what if they dont come back"

"They will return one day lilla" fay says. She nuzzles them "you just have to trust them ok

Lilla let out little whimpers and whines, she was bigger now, and was starting to feel the loss of her pack, her father and mother, and now with Zeke and Jewel gone she was feeling lost and alone, even thought the pack was around her.

"Lilla they will be back.....just keep remebering them ok" fay says nuzzling her

Lilla nods and curls up closing her eyes she whines softly. -- the human came in and picked up Zeke, Zeke still needed care but he could go back to the humans house now. and be cared for by the family of humans.

Jewel followed to the enterence she had slept by the window everynight

the human set Zeke down, Zeke was able to stand but only barely, he's wild sent seemed to disappear the longer he was being cared for by the humans,

Jewel stays right by his side. Her sent was fading but it was still there because she didn't have muche contact with the humans

"Is he ok?" she asked red. "Were are they taking him"

Zeke's nose was pushed against Jewel's side. red came up to them both, "home my masters house you will be the first animals allowed into his house untill your mate is healed compleately." reds tone was sober, he was missing his hunts with his master.

Jewel nuzzled Zeke and she touched his nose with here. "Im here" she says

Zeke's tail wagged but only a bit, the human opened up two cages and put Zeke into the first and shut him in it wasn't as large as the first cage he and Jewel were in so only he could fit, he then told Red and Jewel to jump into the other cage.

Jewel went to Zekes cage and whimpered

She wanted to go in there him

The human alpha male said softly, "its just untill we reach my house young one, itll be safer if he's alone," red translated for Jewel

Jewel whimpered and went to the other cage watching Zekes the whole time

it didn't take long for them to reach where the human lived, he got out of the truck and let red out first, "red keep em' back" red, turned to the other dogs and snarled a terrifing growl, his fangs as long as moutain lion claws,  he snapped at the other dogs, they feared and fled to the other side of the yard where the human locked them into a cage. he then came and let out JEwel and brought out Zeke."its ok blacky, and whity."\

Jewel looked terrified but came out with Zeke. She whimpered and was on alert. She stayed close to the human and looked around for any attacks.

the human pet Jewel's side and carried Zeke into the house.

Jewel stopped at the front door and whimpered. Fear overcame her. Terror filled her eyes

Zeke whined but the human paid no mind to Jewel being afraid, he laid Zeke down on a soft bed of pillows, they smelled of feathers. Zeke whimpered.

Jewel tried to move. Her heart skipped beats as she stood there in fear she whimpered

Zeke whined and tried to get up, but the human male left the room locking Zeke in it alone, he came to the door and saw Jewel, he picked her up carefully, he carried her to the same room and set her in it, in the corner of the room were live rabbits, the human didn't want them to become tame so he figured live rabbits for them to hunt would help intisce Zeke to hunt more often. the room's floor was covered in dirt, and there were a few fake trees lineing the walls, the human knew it wasn't an outside world but he figured if the young male was to get stronger he would have to feel at home.

Jewel came to Zeke and nuzzled him. She still whimpered til she saw the rabbit then she chased it just for fun

the rabbits scattered, there were about 7 of them, they were terrified that wolves had been put into the room with them.

Jewel chased a black rabbit. She soon got tired of them and sniffed the door

Zeke let out a whimper and tried to sit up, he was hungry and the smell of the game so close made him want to catch it.

Jewel came to Zeke "want me to catch one?"

Zeke nodded and still tried to stand up to help.

Jewel nuzzled him to lay down and went to catch a rabbit. She caught one and brought it to him. "Here hun eat you need strength." She said

Zeke's tail wagged and he started to eat the rabbit,

Jewel went to the door and sniffed again "I smell my mother" she says (a dead animal head on the wall you know how humans collect what they kill)

(right) Zeke looked at Jewel and went to stand up, he managed to this time and looked at Jewel, "your mother?"

Jewel nodded she sniffed and scratched the door chipping its paint. She whimpered a little. "Its a faint smell but I know its her"

Zeke walked up to Jewel and pushed against her, "this is a human den why would she be here, this is that hunters den."

"I don't know but smell its her" jewel says looking up.

Zeke looked up as well and let out a whimper seeing a fur spread across the wall.

Jewel scratched the door and whimpered

Zeke turned around looking at all the walls, wolf pelts, fox pelts, all diffrent animal pelts lined the walls, Zeke approched a small pelt it was a wolf. it was solid black like he was and about the same size.

Jewel scratched the door harder. She whimpered and then looked at all the fur. She then went and grabed one off and tore it up hoping the hunter would see this. Tears fell from her eyes as she went mad. The same look of madness in her eyes.

Zeke yelped loudly falling to his belly, the alpha male and red both entered the room Reds eyes were in a rage and he lundged at Jewel, "what do you think your doing! "

"Im showing him I don't approve....." jewel says as she heads for the door. She follow her mothers sent and she enters a library that has a whole bunch of books animal heads and fur.

She sees her mothers head and walks to it. She whimpered.

Zeke was still whimpering, the hunter was looking at Zeke's wounds. red snarled at Jewel, "all you care about is getting even with humans! when my master let you into his house to care for your mate!"

Jewel just stared in her mother mothers eyes. She felt flushed. she couldn't even whimper. Her ears laid flat as she steped closer to her mother.

"Mom" she whispered and red could hear it

Red stopped and walked up beside Jewel. "She was the first wolf my mate killed."

Jewel couldn't say anything she went back to the room she had tears in her eyes. She took the fur she had tore up and laid it in the corner. She then laid on it and whimpered a little.

Red returned along side of Jewel, The human was pickin Zeke up he gently felt along Zeke's side, Zeke stopped breathing and lay motionless. when the human picked him up, Zeke's head lay limp alon with his entire body.

Jewel looked up and noticed Zeke "what's happening with him" she says standing up.

Red stood over by Jewel, "he's limp.. like may dogs who attacked the wolf packs. if I am right. and i hope i'm not. Zeke may be dead."

Jewel looked terrified she yips for Zeke

the human laid Zeke back down and gently ran his hand over his face, a sadness came over the human's face. he turned and walked out of the room shutting the door locking Red in with Jewel

Jewel ran to Zeke and started nuzzling him hard like she did lilla "come on Zeke you can't leave me" she says.

Red walks over to Jewel, "my master will put him in the earth, if he doesn't wake." Red sat down watching Jewel's attempt to save Zeke. he hung his head down and shook it. "dont keep trying Jewel he's dead. what can you do to save him?"

Jewel keeps nuzzling him then whispers in his ear "come on my love come back to me"

Zeke let out a gasp for breath and yelped whining

Jewel looked up at red them nuzzled Zeke "ohh Zeke I love you" she licked him.

Zeke whimpered and licked at Jewel.

Red came over and picked up Zeke by his scruff and took him over to the pillows, Red then scolded him, "dont move your inner stitches arnt healed yet you move you die. stay put you damn wolf or i'll kill you!" red then walked to the door and beat his head against it, the human came back and let him out. the human seeing Zeke licking at JEwel smiled and shut the door again.

Jewel laid next to zeke and watched him. She licked him.

Zeke wagged his tail and he let out gentle whines

"Its ok im here" Jewel says nuzzleing the top of his head

Zeke licked at Jewel his tail gently waggin, "i see you jewel," Zeke licked Jewel's face and laid his head back down and let out a yawn.

Lilla was wandering around she couldn't remember who she was waiting for but knew it was imporant to her. the other pups played with her everyday and she was growing into a fine young wolf while Jewel and Zeke were gone

Jewel scratched at the door while Zeke slept she wanted to know something from Red. She sniffed and whimpered

Red heard her scratching and came to the door he laid down and whispered under the crack of the door, "shh little one, its ok. your only in this room untill your mate is healed, its safer for you and for him to be away from the other hounds. now whats wrong?"

"I need to go back soon to tell my pack he's ok...the ared on fang mountain...I need to get lilla our sister....you can see your pups if you come...it'll only take an hour or so" jewel says through the door.

Red looked around the room his master and his pack had gone to bed red whispered, " come to the other door its an outside door and i can open it. meet me there." red got up and ran outside he headbutted the door it wasn't bigg enough for any hounds to get in but big enough to let the rabbits escape, which they did. red waited for Jewel.

"Zeke im going to get lilla rest" jewel says to him then exited. "Take me to where I came to get the human when Zeke was ill....I can lead from there" she says

Red nodded, "you have to be quiet the other hounds are free right now and if you get to close they will wake and hunt, that is what we were trained for after all. our master counts on us to do it." Red turned and stared walking to where they had been driven from, it took almost two days before they reached the spot where Jewel had brought Zeke to the human.

Jewel looked at the mountain "that is were the pack is....follow" jewel says. She lead him to the cave and entered "lilla im back..."

Lilla perked up she growled, the two standing in the cave entrence smelled of human, they must be human hounds, she let out a howl, her fur was standing on end and her eyes were narrowed,

two of the pups she was playing with constantly come pup and snarled at Jewel and red. they were stocky pups they were both male and a solid coat of red looking almost just like Red's coat.

"Its ok he's not a hound....his human is taking care of Zeke" jewel says. "Lilla its me jewel"

Fay came in "jewel is that you? We thought we lost you"

Lilla's ears pulled tight against her head, she snapped her fangs, and snarled, the other pups followed Lilla's lead, "Fay dont believe that hound, she's here to kill us."

Jewel growled a little "I saved your life pup.....me Zeke and your father Jet" she says

Fay looked at Red her eyes beamed "lilla its jewel smell her closely"

Lilla's ears still pulled tight against her head she kept growling,

Red stepped forward, "Yes i'm a hound, but I would not attack a pack that has cared for my pups." Reds voice was calm and non agressive. he looked to the old she-wolf and lowered his head, "my master is caring for Zeke, at this moment, he has probably noticed my absence by now, two days have passed since we left to come her for Jewel to talk to you all." red looked at the two red pups side by side with Lilla his heart was proud and he sat down, his noble posstion made the to males sit as well, there eyes were glaring at Red

Fay looked at him "sky, nak go get your sister sox and come here" she says to the two red pups with athority. "Lilla stop growling at jewel before I make you stop.....smell her you will see its who you have been missing"

Jewel sat down.

Lilla walked up to Jewel giving wide birth to Red and sniffed at Jewel's tail jumpping back every now and then she came back over to Fay, "I dont remember that sent," lilla faced Jewel her eyes narrowed, she was able to kill small game now, has quite a good nose.

the rwo red males went and got  Sox and returned shortly all sitting behind Fay.

"Smell deep my pup smell deep...her fur under will always be the wolf you miss....sox, nak, and sky I want you to met your father...ummm Red was it?" fay said.

Jewel sat there.

Red nodded and stood his stubby tail wagged he approched his pups and lowered his body down, "my you three have gotten big, what happened to your last sister, the one that was white, like Hert"

Lilla snorted and approched Jewel again and sniffed deep, a faint hint of wolf hit her nose and she sat down...

Jewel bent down and whispered in lilla's ear words she told her when she revived her "come on little pup your strong like me" she says

Lilla's tail started to wag and she licked at Jewel, "where's Zeke?" as she asked she looked out at where Red and Jewel had come from.

back at the human's house, the human was taking Zeke back to the vet, one of his dogs had gotten into the room with Zeke, The human's dog was Dead and Zeke was bleeding badly. he left Zeke at the vet, and the vet after fixing up Zeke the best he could locked Zeke in a small cage about the same size as the cage Zeke was in when the human took him to his den.

Red licked at his pups, he then sat up and smiled down at him. he was slightly bigger than Fay.

"Zeke is being taken care of..." jewel says nuzzling lilla "I wanted you to know we are alive....this maybe the last time you see of us....human contact is making us loose our sent...." jewel says looking at Red. "When Zeke is better we will be on our own...." she says.

Lilla whined, "but why?" lilla's eyes were full of sorrow.

Red turned to Jewel, "I'm not going back to my master. I want to stay and care for my pups." Red turned to Fay and bowed his head "if this is alright with you."

"I have a plan...." fay called 7 males together "we will go back with you, I want to see Zeke...lilla you can come if you want...."

Jewel stood "the three pups two..."

Fay nodded "they are coming..."

Lilla nodded to Fay,  the three pups stood up and nodded,  Red stood too, "i'll protect you all from the hound pack, they follow my orders or die by my fangs they know this," Red looked at Jewel, he knew Jewel had seen him disipline one of his pack members before.

They all headed back.

Red took lead when they approched the human den, the hounds were all caged up and the human was putting what looked like a black wolf into the ground, he bent down and took his hat off and ran his hand along the side of the black-wolf's fur and sighed, then slowly covered it with dirt.

Jewel yipped at the human she lead the pack.

the human looked at the She-wolf and bent down and called, "here whitey, come."

Red walked over to the mound of dirt and sniffed at the ground

lilla was frozen with fear after watching the black wolf being put into the dirt. she looked up at Fay and let out a whine of fear.

The two male pups followed Red,

the human turned and saw the red pups his eyes went wide as he realized they were Red's pups he looked at the small pack of wolves and dogs he smiled and called for his mate and child to come out, they did the little child yipped happily and called out "puppies!"

Jewel came to him and whined. She was afraid she was two late. Fay watched in terror.

Red lifted his head and shook his head, "its a mixed smell of Zeke and one of my hounds," Red bolted over to the hounds who were caged up, "who went after the pup?"

one of the hounds approched the cage door and looked at red, "its the hound who lay dead in the earth."

Fay looked at red "where's Zeke" she says in a little demanding voice.

Jewel came up to the human and whimpered

Red turned to Fay, "the human would be the one to know not me i was making sure Jewel made it saftly back to your pack."

the human pet on Jewel's side and smiled, he softly spoke to the she-wolf, "i'm sure your worried about blacky arnt you? well come on." the human stood up and walked to his truck and realized there were to many wolves to put in the back and laughed at himself he called for red, "red, vet!"

Red went on alert and sniffed the ground and led his way to the vet clinc. he howled once reaching it as he was trained to do,

Red's pups followed and suddenly they couldn't help but howl aswell. but there howl sounded more wild,

the human came up behind Red and patted his side, "good" he walked up to the vet clinc and walked into the and told the vet he needed blacky back they nodded and went to Zeke's cage and opened it Zeke's inner wounds were healed and he could leave if he wanted too, but Zeke seemed dosile and when he saw the human alpha male he jumpped at him and licked his hand.

as the human looked down at Zeke he said calmly, "Blacky your looking well", he picked Zeke up and carried him outside and set him down infrount of the wolves and infrount of Jewel. Zeke looked on in awe.

Jewel looked at Zeke "Zeke...." her tail wagged She was excited to see him.

Fay watchs and smiled "hello little one"

Zeke looked up at the human and then back to Jewel he stood up. he was feeling betrayed by Jewel. she had left when he was sleeping, and this had allowed the hounds the chance to try and kill him. he snarled and snapped at Jewel, then turned and walked to the truck and sat infrount of the cages.

Red watched in horror. no wild wolf would ever want to just be a dog.

Zeke pulled his ears flat and watched the pack of wolves his eyes blazing with anger.

"What's your problem Zeke" jewel says blocking him from the truck. She looked into his eyes almost angry bur shocked.

Zeke bit down on jewel and moved her from his path snarling he turned growling at Jewel. he wasn't in the mood to talk to the she-wolf that betrayed him.

Red approched and snarled, "dont attack Jewel she's your mate!"

Zeke turned his head and snarled at Red he was ferious and lundged at Red, he bit down on Reds neck, and red let out a whimper of fear. the human came over and pulled Zeke from red and looked at red, in that moment, red let out a fearfull whine, and backed down, Zeke snorted and pulled free of the humans hands and staired with a rage in his eyes, "It was you and Jewel who betrayed me! you allowed the hounds to come for me while you were off doing what ever you wanted!" Zeke's words became fearce growls, "I killed the dog that was your second in comand. because it got to me, then the human alpha took me here to heal me."

"I left to get your sister....." jewel snaped at him. "To tell her you were ok I didn't think it was going to take that long...." she growled at him.

Lilla let out a whine, and backed behind Jewel her eyes were focused on Zeke, she had seen her father act like this with Zeke along time ago.

Red looked to fay and the others be backed up more and moved behind his pups and sat down his head hung low. Zeke had won a fight with the male and as such he was no longer concidered alpha of the hounds. now he really had no place to go too.

Zeke Glared at the pack... then his eyes came to Lilla, his gaze softened, "that doesn't change the fact you left me. and because you both left the hound got to me."

the human was watching he tried to approched Red but red kept backing up and avoiding his Gaze.

"I didn't think it would be that long honest....I was to be gone an hour...im sorry please zeke forgive me...I just thought lilla would like to know we were ok" jewel says with sad eyes and whimpering

Zeke laid down in the dirt, his muzzle was missing fur and his left ear torn, his for paws had deep wounds that were still healing, his shoulder had no fur on it. Zeke had fought for his life on his own and won against the hound. Zekes eyes were narrowed he was claming down now but he still felt betrayed. He turned his head. he wanted to stay angry but knew he couldn't. he stood up and walked over to Jewel and licked at where he had bitten her.

Jewel licked him. "Lilla was forgetting us Zeke"

Fay stepped closer her eyes flat. "Little alpha...." she says

Zeke looked down at lilla and bent down, "were you now?"

lilla looked up at Zeke and snapped at his nose,

Zeke pulled up quickly avoiding her snapping jaws. Zeke looked at Fay and bowed his head slowly.

"I hope you haven't forgotten us Zeke" fay says nuzzling him

"Lilla that's your brother Zeke smell him like you did me" jewel says "zeke let her smell your tail"

Zeke's ears pull flat, he thinks *forgotten what that i'm apart of a wolf pack, that i'm wild and not some pet?* Zeke nuzzled Fay, "No i haven't forgotten."

Lilla ran at Zeke and pressed her nose against a bite from one of the hounds,

Zeke turned and looked at lilla. Zeke limpped abit and looked a little taken back by Lilla's actions. "what are you doing watch it lilla, that hurt." Zeke's voice wasn't angry but sounded more like his usuall sound,

Lilla looked up at Zeke little tears forming in her eyes, "I was worried you died!"

"Lilla be carefull he's still hurt come here" fay says with athority "I must tell you two something....afod is dead there is no more male alpha of the pack." Fay says

Red stood up and faced Zeke the other wolves weren't paying attention to him. Red took two steps closer to Zeke and then he let out a hound howl, before lundging at Zeke,

Zeke dropped down and rolled to his back as Red's fangs snapped the air Zeke used all four paws and hit Red under his jaw sending red flipping into the air. Zeke looked at Red who now lay there unmoving, Zeke turned to Fay and lowered his head, "Afod was a good wolf. How did he die?"

the human picked red up, red was still alive but he was out cold, he held red the human knew the pups were no longer Reds but were apart of a wolf pack, he called to Zeke and Jewel, "Besafe on your trip one blacky and whitey." the human carried Red back to his human den.

"Hunters" fay says rounding the pack up. "Lets move everyone grab the pups....Zeke, jewel are you coming with us?" she asked

Zeke stood and nodded, "I am,"

Jewel licked Zeke "I....I...." she looked at Red then to Zeke "he wanted to come with us...."

Zeke turned, watching red go, "He's a hound, dont you remember what he told us, Jewel?"

"Those are his pups zeke....he wanted to help us raise them...." jewel says looking at Zeke with sad eyes

Zeke's eyes narrowed, "he knows how to find us when he's ready he will come." Zeke's tone was firm, he knew it was true, Reds master had said he was quitting hunting when Zeke was attacked by the hounds. Zeke knew that if the hounds wanted to hunt they would have to become wild once more.

Jewel nodded and started to follow. Her head a little low.

Zeke walked along side of Fay, his ears and eyes were focused on the road ahead, "Fay, when winter comes and the wastelands become froze,  I think we should cross them as a pack, not even hunters venture into the Wastelands." Zeke's eyes were focused on the sky and on Fang moutain.

Fay looked at him "whatever the alpha says." She says smiling at him.

Zeke looked up at Fay, "your alpha."

Jewel came to Zeke's side and nuzzled him

"No little one I resign as alpha....I will watch you though" fay says.

Zeke looked at Fay, he hung his head and nuzzled Jewel and wrapped his tail around hers, "why me Fay? I'm not suited to be alpha i'm still to young, I'm not even a year yet."

"You'll do fine I will help" fay says "I can't find anyone else that I trust..." she says

Jewel wrapped her tail around his as they headed home.

Zeke's eyes were down cast the rest of the way back to Fang moutain.

Nez was playing with the pups. When they entered

Zeke sat down, he closed his eyes and then let out a howl for all pack members to come around him.

The pack young and old came and sat around him. Jewel by his side.

Zeke looked up at most of the wolves who sat around him. "when winter comes." his voice was strong and yet had a hint of worry in it as well. "When winter comes, the wastelands will have snow for us to eat so we will not be thirsty. and that is when we will cross the wastelands to a land only wolves can find haven in. It will be a hard journy, but as a pack we will have to endure it,  we will make dens in the snow at night and arise at sun high. I will lead the way when the time comes." Zeke looked around and stood, "if any of you do not wish to come I will not force you, if your happy here ontop of this moutain then stay. I can not promise we will all make it, But what i can promise is no humans will follow us. they are afraid of the Wastelands, as are all animals but rabbits. before we leave we will kill 6 deer to take with us across the wastelands. it should sistain us and the pups untill we can catch some rabbits, but when we finnaly get across the waste lands there will be game. plenty of game. enough for all of us to eat, and no humans will be there. it will be our territory. our freedom."

The pack looked at fay and she nodded

"when do we leave" nez says.

Zeke looked at all the wolves, "the coldest day of the winter, when we know the humans are tucked saftely in there human dens, untill that day, everyone.." zeke turned and faced outside. "hunt and eat as much as you can, gain enough weight to survive the harshest winter you have ever faced!"

They nodded and mute came up.

"Mute is the alphas right hand" fay says.

Zeke wasn't sure he was doing the right thing he sat down. His ears were flat. and he thought of the human vowing never to hunt wolves again. Zeke turned to mute, "mute come with me, we are goiong to other territories to see if any wolves are still alive in them."

Jewel stood up. "Im going with" she demanded

Zeke turned to Jewel, "no, I need you and fay to watch the pack, and make sure the pups get enough food  to fatten them up for the journy this winter, we have 4 full moons before winter comes if they arnt prepaired they will die." Zekes eyes were sturn  Zeke looked at Fay, "dont die untill i get back." Zekes eyes were soft but also still sturn.

"I won't...." fay says nuzzling jewel to come with her.

Jewel looked at Zeke sad


Zeke turned and signaled with his tail for Mute to follow him, Zeke left the cave and walked deep into the territory and passing boarder markers that weren't strong anymore, Zeke started looking for signs of any other wolves, when he didn't see any he pulled his ears flat and looked to mute the singaled to return home, a hound was before them his red coat shimmers in the light,  Zeke sat down and licked his coat, "i see you found me red."

Red was breathing heavily, "my.. my master killed the hounds. I ran." Reds voice was full of fear and he was terrified he looked at Zeke, " He shot me Zeke. in my hind leg. it hurts,"

Zeke stood, "come on red lets go home."

Jewel was tearing meat for the pups that could eat chewed meat.

Zeke entered mute behind him and Red just behind Mute, "looky who we found." Zeke sits down letting Red walk into the cave and lay down.

Fay ran to him "red you ok..."

Red wagged his stubby tail happy to see such a welcome. "my master attacked me. he killed the other hounds, he said he wasn't going to need them and he wouldn't let anyone else use us to hunt down wolves anymore."

Fay looked a jewel "help him to the corner and take care of him" she says.

Zeke stood up and nudged Red to stand he softly spoke into Red's ear, "dont let your pups see you like this."

Fay looked at Zeke "I need 2 males to go with me to the human" she says

Zeke nodded to Fay, "I will come and you can choose the other male"

"Mute looks like you so mute can come put someone in charge while we are gone" fay says.

Zeke sat and looked at Jewel, "Jewel watch over everyone, your incharge while we are gone."

Jewel nodded "stay safe...."

Zeke nodded " We will."

Fay runs to the human. Mute behind her. Zeke behind him. She stops right before they enter his territory. "This is the plan.....mute will pose as your dad. We are here to thank him for helping you and see if there are any survivors" fay says

Zeke shook his head,

Fay steped out of the wood and mute on oneside Zeke on the other. She looked around for the human

the human turned and saw Zeke his heart lifted, "Blacky! come here boy!" the human bent down and opend up his arms.

Zeke took a step closer to the human but stopped and looked at mute.

Mute looked at him and stepped closer nudging him forward as if to say I got your back

Zeke moved closer to the human and once in arms reach of the human, the human then wrapped his arms around Zeke and cried in his fur, and spoke softly, "I didn't want my hounds to ever attack you or your kind again, so i did the most unspeakable thing to them little blacky, I killed them." Zekes ears pulled flat.

Fay stepped closer to the human and so did mute.

the human continued to cry the lifted his head and called for his family, his mate came out but the child didn't. she saw the wolves that her mate had grown to care for. she approched her mate and placed her paw on him and spoke softly to him, her voice was soothing and calm a hint of sadness was deep in her words. Zeke's ears perk and pull flat.

Fay looked at Zeke "remeber to go to mute like he's your dad" she says as she looks around carefully

one hound came out of the house seeing Zeke he ran up to him and panted he gasped, "Did Red make it to you? The other dogs are dead, he killed them all. the female and there pup saved me. I know your known as the hound killer now and no hound would dare go near your pack, but please take care of Red, he's my Dad too."

"Red is with us" fay says "is there any survivors? We will take them and care for them"

the hound shook his head, "only me."

"Ok" fay stepped closer to the human and sniffed him.

"i was the only hound who didn't go after Zeke that night, so the female and her pup told the man no. I was the only one to be spared by my masters rage. He shot at Red, I heard him help and I knew he was hurt." the hound backed up he wasn't an agressive hound like the others more like a normal dog.

the human looked at Fay and smiled, "your pup here is one heck of a fighter you know. " the human ruffled Zeke's fur, "he's a strong little wolf, and i couldn't bring myself to have hounds that would harm him or his wonderfull pack."-- the hound translated the human's words so the wolves would understand.

Fay nuzzled him and licked his hand biting it sofly as she played like a pup. Scars and wounds from early age along with a bullet wound from youth deep in fur

the human laughed and gently ran his hand along her fur and sat flat on his butt, he gently played with the old she-wolf, "you must be his mom, as playfull as he is, and that strapping wolf there." the human looked at mute and smiled, " that must be his father. the alpha male and alpha female. how wonderful to see you both with him. I was worried his pack was the one i hunted a long time ago," the human stood up and kissed Zekes forehead,

Zeke jumpped back looking really surprised by the affection the human was showing. he shook his head and pawed at where the human had kissed.

the hound laughed, "he said that the two older wolves are your parents and that kiss means he's happy with you." the hound laughed again.


Mute shook his head no as the human said father..

Fay licked the man and jumped on him licking his face. He was the same boy from her childhood.

the human looked at mute then to Zeke, "No he's not your father, is he young one." the human swollowed hard and closed his eyes, "I did kill your pack off thats why you were alone when my hounds chased you down, When Rex had you cornered between all the hounds. and i.. I.." the human's voice sounded sad and regreatfull. "when i shot you."

Fay looked at him and whimpered. "He has jewels mother she told me" she says to Zeke

Zeke looked at the house and let out a low whimper,

the human turned seeing what the young wolf was whining at and stood he walked to the house and pulled out every trophy he thought he wanted, he laid out wolf furs, wolf heads, bear fur, stuffed bears, lions foxes and even rabbit pelts, after laying them before Zeke the man backed up and lowered his head he turned and walked inside with his mate, he wanted Zeke and his family to have the pelts, he didn't want to see them anymore.

Zeke sniffed each he found his unkle but ignored it he was looking for Jewel's mother, he found the fur and the wolf head that both smelled of Jewel he pulled them out and pointed to them with his head, "these are Jewel's pack. none of the others smell like her at all." Zeke looked back  then went to them and started digging around them as he dug he pushed a few plets into the ground and covered them with dirt  he did this several times untill the only one's above ground were Jewel's pack. Zeke nodded to Fay and mute and put the fur over his back and let mute carry the wolf head back to Jewel.

Fay looked at them "you to go ahead I want to....bury the other pelts" fay lied. Mute followed Zeke with the other fur.

"Zeke this fur can help our travels" fay says all of a sudden

the human came back out and watched as Zeke and mute both left carrying only two things, some of the other pelts burried but only the wolf pelts, he saw fay and sat down on his porch and watched,-- Zeke turned and looked at Fay, "it can? how?" Zeke walked back and looked at Fay in a confused look on his face

"Covering the little ones to keep them warm...." fay says "was it not warm when you slept on it?"

Zeke nodded it was, "alright put all the pelts on my back, i'll carry them back to the pack," Zeke lowered his body, to allow fay to pu the pelts on him. mute was allready carrying alot with the wolf head, it was heavy and he had to set it down several times.

"Put the heads on this...." she says dragging a big bear fur to them

She went to the human and looked at him

the human watched with intrest at the wolves anticts with the furs, he smiled at them and when Fay came over to him he smiled, "thats a good girl, your alot bigger now arnt ya?" the humans voice was carring and soft.

Fay nuzzled him and licked his hand. "I will carry the rest you guys go ahead"

Zeke shook his head, "we will not leave unless you are with us," Zeke's voice was firm and solid.

"Zeke please I will be there soon" fay says not taking her eyes off the human.

Zeke looked at Fay, "we will only be around the corner out of sight Fay that is all the further i will go without you." Zeke walked around the corner Mute on his tail pulling the bear fur, Zeke laid down, as cars passed, Mute was a little nevous and kept looking aroun

Fay looked at the human and whimpered

the human smiled and put his hand on Fay's muzzle and called for his mate and his pup, the female brought out there pup and set it down, the human looked proud of his little one and smiled at Fay, "her name is Fay,"

Fay sniffed the baby and then to the human. She licked his hand.

the human smiled and looked out at where Zeke and mute had gone, "Blacky is a good puppy, Like you Fay," the human smiled and patted her head and nodded with his head for her to go.

Fay whimpered a little and nuzzled him

the human wrapped his arms around Fay and gave her a hug as as he use to do licked her nose and smiled at her, "we will meet again if fate sees it as such Fay, you'll see."

Fay licked him and grabbed the furs she dragged them to Zeke a tear in her eyes.

the human went inside with his little pack and the hound that was still alive,-- Zeke looked at Fay and stood he could tell something was going on, like she had known the human, but he kept it to himself, -- mute seemed happy to have fay back and he grabbed the bear fur and picked it up carring it, it took 4 days to get back to the cave with tht others with there extra load.

Fay enters the den. Mute behind her they carried and dragged furs to the den.

When the pack saw they came to help

Zeke laid outside panting, he was overheating from carring the furs on his back since he was still a little small to carry them in his mouth, his wounds from the fights with the hounds were bleeding but they weren't anything bad, he licked at his forepaws trying to cool them off

Jewel came and helped him with four other females.

Zeke looked up at jewel and wagged his tail, he then laid his head down, his panting was fast, and he wasn't feeling to well. he licked at his paws trying to cool off the best he could

Jewel licked Zeke as fay got everyone ready to leave "do I need to take you back to the human?" she whispered as she licked his wounds clean.

Zeke stood up and shook his head no, and approched Fay, "not yet, its not winter yet fay, " Zeke's voice was a bit raspy, --Red came up and looked at Zeke and at Fay, he knew none of his pack had survived. and he laid down before them both."

"One of your sons had made it red the one that didn't attack Zeke. He is with the human baby" fay says to Red. She nodded to Zeke and the pups started playing around her yelling "Fay fay...."

Jewel nuzzled Zeke "you must be hungry"

Zeke stood, "i'm going to hunt", his panting was still heavy, "maybe after i jump into a pond to cool off"

"I will hunt you cool off ok" jewel says nuzzling him.

Zeke nods and licks Jewel. he then walks near a river and walks into it up to his belly, he lays down and closes his eyes, he laps at the cool water and ducks his head under and moves closer to shore laying with his belly and paws in the water

Jewel caught four rabbits and dragged then to Zeke she put then down and came to the water. "Its good to have you back...." she says as she lowers her head for a drink.

"Jewel." Zeke lifted his head looking up at her, "how am i going to lead this pack? i'm not prepaired to something like this.."

"With mine and fays help of course...." jewel says "I believe you can do this Zeke and so does fay"

Zeke laid his head back in the water and closed his eyes, he was hot and soon fell asleep in the water his nose drifted into the water.

Jewel nuzzled him. "Come eat Zeke" she says

Zeke looked up at Jewel, "I"m not hungry right now love, i'm tired and hot." Zeke laid his head back in the water letting the river's lapping water splash aginst him.

"Lay your head on the ground so you don't drown ok" jewel says concerned. She diped her muzzle in and began to nuzzle him with the dripping of her muzzle.

Zeke moved closer to shore and layed his muzzle against the grount barely above the water, his ears were hot, and his paws were still burning, he wasn't feeling well and the last time he had eaten was when Jewel had killed the rabbit in the room, but none of the pack knew that.

Jewel went and grabbed a rabbit and began to shed it like she does the pups she stood in the water over him and put the meat close to him. It touched his mouth. She whispered "eat baby for me" she then dunked he muzzle in water and began to nuzzle his head with the coldness of her muzzle.

Zeke head rose nuzzling Jewel back, the coolness from the river was helping to cool him off but his stomache was really feeling well but he didn't want to admit it so he ate some of the rabbit and laid back down in the water.

Jewel kept nuzzling him over with cool water as he ate. She licked him every now and then to show him love.

Zeke looked at jewel after eatting a few bites, and sat up in the river slowly, "Did you see we brought your mothers remains, so you can pay last respects to her and cover dirt over her?" he was a little light headed from the head and his words seemed spaced out more than a smooth sentence.

"I saw and I will when we go back to the den ok" jewel says nuzzling him

Zeke nodded and laid his head back down, and closes his eyes.

Jewel kept licking him. "Am I helping" she asked

Zeke woke two days later foxes were growling at each other over the rabbits, Zeke stood and shook his fur, he walked up to the den, a light snow was finally starting to fall, he sat in the entrence it was eairly morning and most wolves were asleep, the pups were heavy now and so were all the wolves, Zeke's tail wagged knowing that they would need the extra fat to keep them alive where they were going, in a full moon's time. Zeke looked at Jewel who hadn't left his side, he nuzzled her, and licked her fur gently.

Jewel nuzzled him "how do you feel?"

Zeke looked at jewel he knew he may not have enough fat to get though this journy  but he smiled at her and licked her tentivily, "I'm alot better."
Mute came up and sat down in front of him his tail wagged.

Zeke noticed how much heaver even Mute looked now, Zeke wagged his tail everyone was looking good for the journy ahead and he stood up, "gather up 3 hunting packs, and each pack will kill 2 deer we will leave soon." Zeke smiled at Mute and nodded to him, Zeke entered the cave and saw fay, his tail wagged and he went up to her.

"Zzzzzz" is all Mute said.

Zeke was surprized that mute could say anything and his tail wagged, "i know everyone is asleep but when they wake i mean mute." Zeke let out a gentle laugh not loud enough to wake anyone, he laid down next to Fay and closed his eyes and waited for Jewel to curl up next to him.

Jewel came and curled up to him her fat was sliming down because she hasn't ate since the day before they came back. "Zeke I need to pay my respects to my mother and put her in the ground" she says.

Zeke nodded his head, "alright Jewel"

*morning*

Jewel paid her respect and put her pack in the ground. "I hope their with your pack" she says to Zeke

Zeke wagged his tail, "I do too Jewel I do too." Zeke turned and watched the three hunting groups of wolves leave to hunt the deer. Zeke saw a rabbit and gave chase killing it he brought it to Jewel "here you have to eat."

"You eat you need to get some fat on you for our trip...." jewel says nuzzling him

Zeke nuzzled back"No i need to besure everyone makes it safely to where we are going. so you eat this rabbit i'll get another one."

Jewel nodded. She wasn't hungry but she bit into the rabbit a tear fell down her face as she thought of her mother

Zeke brushed along her side,"your mother is running with her pack and she's free from pain Jewel"

Jewel nodded and ate more "will you share this with me" she says a little sad.

Zeke nodded and took a bite and licked JEwel's head

Jewel licked him back and nuzzled him "when do we leave?" she asked curiously

"in 4 or 5 suns when the storm comes in." Zeke says silently

Jewel nodded "I want to go see the human one last time before we go to tell him thank you and good bye is that ok?" she says.

Zeke nodded and stood up, "I think Fay would like to see the human one last time too." Zeke knew he had to gather up some rabbits for everyone since they were all hunting deer for the journy. Zeke nuzzled Jewel. "go on Jewel I can take care of things for a few days, we wont leave untill you get here."

Jewel nuzzled and licked him "I will be back ok.... I promise" she went and got fay and they headed to the humans house

Zeke gathered a good 60 rabbits in the time they were gone-- the humans house was deserted

"They must not be here anymore" jewel says sadly. She howled to see if he'd come out

Fay stood and watched

the hound came out and sat infrount of the two wolves, "the humans left. said they couldn't live here anymore. they left me" the hounds head lowered

"Come with us you can come with us...." fay says.

Jewel looked sad.

The hound stood up and nodded, "Is my father alright?"

"Yes he's with his pups" fay says.

the hound sighed and wagged his tail, "good"

Jewel was silent the whole way home.

Zeke was staggering a little bit he had been running back and forth the entire time Jewel and Fay had gone. he had enough rabbits for all the wolves in the pack and then some.

Zeke's body had slimmed down even more he was exausted.

Jewel fay and the hound came up "Zeke we are back the humans left already and they left the hound behind can he stay"

Zeke nodded and walked past the three of them and got his footing back he ran back out catching several more rabbits while the other wolves came back with three dead deer per hunting group.

Jewel ran after Zeke "hayyyyy" she says happily

Zeke had caught another Rabbit and laid it down he was panting and he laid down, his head was dizy and he could hardly thing other than to get food for the pack.

Jewel ran and stood on him "hay....." she says nuzzling him

Zeke looked up at Jewel he was still panting he stood up and nuzzled the rabbit to her. "eat your gonna need the fat it will provide, there are more rabbits in the cave for everyone when they come back and for the new hound and fay too. make sure everyone eats." he turns and sniffs the ground and goes off to hunt somemore.

"Enough Zeke take a break" jewel says stepping in front of him

Zeke looked at Jewel, "I have to get enough rabbits for everyone to be full before we leave." Zeke's words sounded raspy and he was still out of breath, as he took a deep breath and exhaled it it was obious he hadn't eaten since Jewel and fay had left and he was burning more fat than he had stored.

Jewel looked at him with deep troubled in her eyes "we aren't going to make it if our leader isn't well...." she says sturnly.

Zeke shook and looked at Jewel his winter coat was coming in well, he looked heathy other than he was skinny,he nodded slowly and as he turned to go back he colasped, -the hunting wolves all returned, each wolf had a deer on there back, 3 wolves per hunting party and 3 parties, so they had brought back 9 deer.

Jewel nuzzled Zeke and put him on her back as best she could. She took him to the den and laid him down. She sat in front of him so if he woke. "Everyone gather around" she says. "Zeke needs our help... seven males go hunt only rabbits and small kill. Mute bring me four rabbits for Zeke to eat." Jewel says with athority. "We leave in 4 or 5 days we need as much as we can...."

the wolves of the pack gathered round, the hunters laid there deer at the back of the cave where a pile of rabbits taller than a human lay.  the Seven wolves nodded and all took off hunting fast and effectenly.

"Red how do you feel?" she says.

Red was able to stand on his hind paw. "I am fine JEwel."

"Good will you be able to hunt?" she says sturnly.

Red nodded, "Yes ma'am."

"Tomorrow you will hunt...make sure your pups are well feed..." jewel says "new hound what is your name...." she says turning her attention to the hound they brought back.

the hound stepped forward, "the humans called me False."

Jewel stood up and looked him up and down. She then snapped at him to see what he would do.

Fasle jumpped out of the way and batted her upside the head as he did in the dog pen. "What are you doing?"

"Testing your reflexes" she says "you are no longer named false but quick sand" she says "can you hunt...."
Quicksand nodded he glared at the she-wolf. "before my mother died she called me Slip."-- Red laughed, "thats because you constantly ran around and slipped on the rocks around your mother."
"Well then slip we will call you.... you too will hunt tomorrow...." jewel says. She looked back at Zeke then said "everyday seven new hunters...." she says
Zeke slept hard, his body hadn't rested the entire time Fay and Jewel had been gone. --lilla came up,"can i hunt?"
"Ok me and you will go hunt tomorrow....I need my helper to make sure then pups are well feed can you do that for me?" jewel says nuzzling lilla.
Lilla yipped and jumpped up and down nodding"yes yes i can i can"
"Ok go and tomorrow we will hunt ok" jewel says licking her face and sending her off.
Lilla ran off and sat infrount of Nez and bragged that she gets to go hunting with Jewel.- Zeke let out a whimper and woke up he looked up at everyone.
The pack looked busy.
Nez came up to red "hi" she says as she sits.
Zeke stood up and shook his fur he left the cave and walked to the forest. -- Red wagged his stubby tail and licked Nez, "Hi there little one."
"want to play" nez says.

Jewel followed Zeke. "You ok"

Red shook his head no but Slip came up and playfully nudged Nez,"i'll play"-- Zeke sat down and looked down. "what if one of them dies.." Zeke's words weren't directed to Jewel but were just stated.

"Who?" jewel says and she nuzzles Zeke

"Ok" nez says hopping up on her 3 legs and running to him

Zeke jumpped and looked at Jewel, "Any of them." Zeke's ears pulled flat he didn't feel capable of leading the pack.- Slip jumpped back and pawed at Nez. he was happy he hadn't gotten to act his age since he was small. but now here he was able to be his real age, he was slightly younger than Zeke.

"If you don't think you can lead them tell fay" jewel says.

Zeke stood up and walked into the cave and approched Fay.

Nez jumps on him. She is twice as small but that doesn't stop her.

Fay lay there crying silently

Slip yipped and licked at Nez, he was happy and found being a pup again energizing. -- Zeke looked at Fay his ears pulled back. softly he whispered"fay?"

Fay whiped her tears "yes little one" she says looking up at him.

Zeke sat down and looked at fay, "why do you cry Fay?"

Fay smiled "its nothing little one..." she says. "What do you need"

Zeke felt guilty, he really didn't feel safe leading the entire pack to the place he promised, he had heard it from one of the dogs in the village, it was part wolf but had refused to come with Zeke to the pack. Zeke sighed, "I.. I dont know if i can Lead this pack."

"Well then I will train you for when your older.... everyone I am now alpha but Zeke will help me and jewel as well" fay says

Red and Slip both looked at Fay, "you mean Zeke was alpha!" Both of there Eyes were wide with anonishment

"Yes....I made him alpha because I trust him more...." fay says "I will help him lead now"

Red stepped forward, "isn't he to young he doesn't even look like he's a year yet." Red's voice was full of concern more than anything else.

"He is young but he has alpha's blood through him.... he knows what's best when the time comes to it just like jewel when she was just now giving orders...they are wise for there ages" fay says

Red looked at Zeke, "yes but look at him, he was worried about his responsiblity and he hasn't gained anyfat at all."

"He's been to worried about fattening everyone else for the trip....." fay says. "He puts his pack before himself a true alpha knows that.."

Red growled abit, "But if he dies on the journy he chose to do. who's fault would it be." Red's eyes were focused on Fay now. he wasn't challanging her for alpha but he was more concerned like a father would be.

Fay looked bothered she them picked up Zeke by the scruff and put him down in front of Red "then you make sure he is well fed.." Her voice a little troubled.

She walked out

Zeke snarled at Red and snapped at him, "remember your place Red this isn't your hounds!" Zeke stood and followed fay, he sat beside her.

Fay sat outside tears in her eyes.

Jewel looked at Red

Zeke moves up  beside Fay and laid down beside her, he curled up close to her. "Fay? why do you seem sad?" --Red looked at Jewel and stood up and walked over to the feed pile and started speaking to Jewel, "When you both left he constantly hunted. he wouldn't stop to eat he kept saying if we didn't have enough food before we left someone would die." Reds eyes were focused on the rabbits, "he hunted everysecond he didn't sleep. and he didn't eat. i offered to help him but he said no, he wanted me to be sure the pups were well fed."

Jewel sat next to Red "he's only looking out for the pack and the new generation...." she says

"I am little one...." fay says as tears fell down like raindrops and hit the ground

Red shook his head, "it shouldn't be his responciblity, he's a pup himself. its bad enough my hounds killed off your packs but to have one's so young as both of you being alpha's when you haven't even matted yet." red shook his head. -- Zeke whined, "why are you sad fay?" Zeke was scared for the old she-wolf, he had grown fond of her and looked to her as if sh was his mother.

"Either way Zeke was alpha anyways....we were going to go off on our owns before...." jewel says  before nez comes running up to her knocking her down.

"It is nothing Zeke just wishing I knew what to do" fay says.

Zeke looked up at Fay, "what do you mean what to do?" Zeke sat up and licked at Fays muzzle gently he wasn't growing much but he was just slower than some of the other pups, he still was only 2/3s the size of Fay, "maybe i can advise you Fay." Zekes tail wagged a little bit thinking it would be ironic if he could

"I don't know what to do about many things" fay says "I could let mute take alpha after we lead them to the place.... but he can't talk to give orders." She says

Zeke looked thought full for a moment, "I can still be alpha male but I just am worried and confused of what to do to be alpha." Zeke's eyes narrowed, "my father was always so sure of what to do and i am not sure of anything i do." Zeke lowered his head he was confused, was he making the right move leading the pack across the Waste land? was he really right in them having so much extra food? he didn't know what to think nor to do.

"Im sure at times your father didn't know although it didn't seem like it... all alphas do even me" fay says

Zeke nodded. "But was Red right about if the alpha's die that the pack of wolves stops fighting and runs in fear never to be a pack again?"

"Sometimes....yet ours just find the next to be leader....Zeke you should rest the next few days and eat..."

Zeke looked up at Fay, "but.." Zeke looked down and nodded, "ok fay."-

Lilla came out and brought a rabbit to both of them and wagged her tail,"here guys i brought you both a rabbit."

"Thank you lilla" fay says.

Lilla wagged her tail and bolted back inside the cave--

Zeke took a bite of the rabbit. and pushed his to fay almost asking if she would share it with him.

"You need to eat them...." fay says

Zeke pulled his ears flat and picked up the rabbit he had started eating and moved over to a tree and laid under it he looked at the rabbit and closed his eyes. he wasn't feeling hungry. but he took about 5 more bites and laid his head down beside the dead rabbit.

Jewel came to him and laid next to him.

Zeke lifted his head seeing Jewel he wagged his tail and laid his head back down closing his eyes.

Jewel licked him and said "eat more..." she was encouraging him

Zeke nodded slowly and ate a few more bites then laid his head back down.

Jewel licked and took a bite

Zeke looked at Jewel and wagged his tail. he was feeling useless now but curled close to Jewel and closed his eyes.

"You ok?" jewel says in a whisper as she was curling around him.

Zeke pressed his cold nose against her fur and took in her sent. He had missed her company more than anyone elses. "Jewel will everyone make it to where we are going?"

"Yes.... I believe they will" jewel says "will you make it though...."

A male 5 months in age came up to them "ummm alpha Zeke can I talk to you"

Zeke licked Jewel's side, then sat up and looked at the male, "yes." Zeke stood and walked away from Jewel.

"I know of the place your going....my pack went there every winter..." the male says.

Zeke looked at him, "is it free of humans?"

"Yes....." he says.

Zeke nodded, "i think you need to speak with fay." Zeke licked the male's shoulder and stood leading him to fay.

The 5 month old followed. Fay was playing with a pup.

Zeke sat down, his body was far slinder than any of the wolves of the pack, "fay. can we talk?"

Fay looked at them "hello nuka how are you?" she says to the male.

"Fine ma'me" Nuka says

Zeke sat down," Nuka's pack came from where we are going. i believe he may be able to help us deside a safe route to arrive there safely.

"Ahhh really that's wonderful..." fay says.

Zeke's ears perk and he nods to Nuka, "you and fay talk." Zeke stood up and walked away.

Jewel lays in the sun her fur silky and shiney she looks out over the the land.

Zeke walks up to Jewel and wags his tail

Jewel seems to be caught in a day dream. She doesn't notice Zeke. (Now would be a perfect time to sneek up on her lol)

Zeke crouched down and walked up behind her and pounced on her back, licking her fur all over. his tail wagging

Jewel yipped and turned her head "woe you scared me...." she laughed

Zeke wagged his tail and licked Jewel, "i'm sorry Jewel"

Jewel nuzzled him. "Everything ok with that kid" she says

Zeke sat down, "yes he knows were the pack is going. his old pack use to go there every year."

"Oooo really that is cool" jewel says sitting up and nuzzling Zekes chest

Zeke's tail wagged he had missed jewel more than he let on her held her head close to his chest with his head and his tail continued to wag, "yes it is."

Jewel laced her tail with his and kept her head under his. "I've really missed you" she admits after a minute

Zeke heart races, "I've missed you too Jewel." he stays where he is his tail wrapped around her's

Jewel touched noses with him and kept it there for a minute then went back to nuzzling his chest listening to his heart. She let out a relaxful sigh

Zeke's tail wagged and he licked along her ears, he let out a content sigh.

Nez watched in the shadow. she didn't want to bother them But it was important

Zeke wagged his tail and stood up. "we should get back to the cave and check on everyone." his voice was full of love and gratitued to Jewel

Jewel licked him and touched noses again before standing up

Nez steps out "ummm"

Zeke looked at Nez, "what is it Nez?"

"I....I....." nez fell before continuing her sentence a big cut ran across her side

Zeke eyes went wide he ran over to Nez then looked at Jewel, "help Nez while i go and check on the pack, I'll bring Fay back" his voice was sturn but not commanding.

Jewel nodded and ran to nez

Zeke took off as fast as he could to the pack.

fay was laying in the corner. Everyone in the pack was fine

Zeke ran up to Fay, "Fay, Nez was hurt and i dont know how currently Jewel is taking care of Nez's wounds."

Fay bolted up "where?" she says to Zeke as she heads to him

Jewel was grabbing herbs and putting them on nez. Nez was out

Zeke lead the way back to Nez and skidded to a hault running into a bush of thorns. Zeke let out a yelp and disappeared into a deep hole that was hidden in the bush.

Fay looked "little one are you ok?"

Zeke jumpped at the walls but he had a sharp pain in his side. but he was ignoring it to try and get out of the pit. it smelled of man, but the sent was pale and hardly noticeable. Zeke jumpped at the steep edge's of the pit, but he couldn't make it up it. "Take care of Nez i'm ok just stuck in theis hole." he figured he shouldn't tell them of the human smell. Zeke curled up in the bottom of the Pit. his side was hurting him he couldn't tell as of yet but he had been stabbed with a stick when he landed on his side.

Fay took nez and jewel came to Zeke "come on zeke I'll help you..." she says

Zeke jumpped at the side of the pit again.

Jewel bit and caught his scruff. She pulled him up.

Zeke pulled himself up with Jewel's help. he started to pant. he looked up at jewel and wagged his tail,"thank you Jewel"

Jewel looked at his side "you have a thorn in your side imma pull it out try not to yelp the human is on his way....ok" she says quietly

Zeke nodded his head and closed his eyes, *the little thorn turned out to be a small stick stuck in his side*

Jewel took it out and licked it clean. She ran and got herbs and put them on him

Zeke watched Jewel and he stood up, "we have to get back to the pack."

Jewel nodded and ran with him. She stayd close to make sure the herbs stayed in place.

Zeke stopped reaching the pack and seeing Fay he slowly approched the old she-wolf and looked at Nez. "what happened?"

Nez looked up "I was by the river....a human came out of no where and cut me.... I guess he thought he'd killed me because he ran back"

Zeke nuzzled Nez, and licked her check. "Itll be alright Nez." Zeke laid down and curled up close to Nez. "at least you had the spare fat and it saved you." Zeke said as he closed his eyes. his side was aching, "when your well enough we have to leave and we all must make it to the safe land." Zeke's voice grew soft and faint as he drifted to sleep.

Jewel stepped out side.

Lilla came up to Jewel and licked at her. "Whats wrong Jewel? arnt you gonna sleep with Zeke like always?"

"Ummmm I need to keep watch over the cave if the humans come this way I need to be the alarm for the wolves" she says not wanting to tell her reason for not laying with Zeke this time.

Lilla wagged her tail, "then i'll help." Lilla sat beside Jewel and watched.

Jewel nodded and looked out "see the trees moving over there..." she nuzzle about a 3 miles away

"That's the humans"

Lilla focused on that spot,"I thought wolves and humans were friends again when you took Zeke to the human."

"Some lilla don't want to be friends with us....and those are the ones who hunt us.... but sometimes things change and they are friends with us" jewel says

Lilla remembered when Zeke had bit Jewel and looked up at Jewel. "Is the reason you dont want to sleep with Zeke is cause he said you betrayed him? and he bit you?"

"No.... he is sleep with nez...." jewel says forgetting she wasn't going to say anything

Lilla looked up at Jewel, "yeh so? Nez is hurt and he's an alpha. Even dad use to lay with the omega's to make them feel safer." Lilla looked back over at the trees a good three miles away. a single human came out it was young and it had a stick and was poking a bush untill a bird flew up and scared the human half to death, it fell on its but and covered its face and stood up and ran back into the trees to its pack.

"Its nothing lilla why don't my helper go see if Zeke is ok...." jewel says.

lilla nodded and went to check on Zeke. --Zeke was moving his paws he was having a frighting dream* Zeke was face to face with Jewel it was in the snow covered wastelands, his fur was drenched and so was Jewel's. He had seen her eyes like this before when she attacked humans. wild and mean looking. a rage about the. and this time the were directed to him. she lundged at him, and Zeke not wanting to fight his only love didn't move. before long Zeke was laying on his side breathing hardly and looking up at Jewel, her fangs opened up and came closer and closer to his throat* lilla sat down looking at Zeke. his paws were twitching his ears were pulled flat. and he had the sent of fear about him. Lilla went back to Jewel and told her.

"Lilla stay and watch the humans ok let me go check" jewel says heading inside. She came in and nuzzled him. She whispered in his ear "my love its a dream come back to me" she hope he had heard her

lilla had nodded and stayed watching the humans-- Zeke flenched and woke up with a yelp, his eyes met with Jewels and he courared in fear away from her. his ears pulled flat, in his dream Jewel had bitten down hard on Zeke's throat. Zeke got up and half staggered from groggyness half limpped over to a corner of the Cave that was dark and damp. he was afraid of jewel. afraid of what the dream may mean.

Jewel came to him and whispered "zeke are you ok?" she says.

Zeke laid flat almost instantly when Jewel approched him, he was shaking horribly. his ears were flat and he didn't make eye contact with her, his fur was raised and he was afraid of Jewel for the first time in his life. He would die for Jewel, and would Jewel be the one who took his life? she shuddered at the thought and closed his eyes tight. (it could be the stick was from a poison bush-- Posion ivy or something maybe even posion oak)

Jewel laid in front of him and showes a sign of surrender. She waited.

Zeke opened his eyes they were still terrified as he looked at her he turned his head away

Jewel whimpered and a tear fell down her face. She ran out of the cave crying.

Fay came to Zeke "eat this you are poisioned by oak and this will make it go away"

Lilla looked up at Jewel and howled, "wait Jewel where are you going?" - Zeke looked up at Fay and then ate it. he laid his head down shaking still, "Fay i had a bad dream." his voice was whimpering as he talked

"Yes I know poision oak does that" fay says

Zeke shook still, "Jewel.. Jewel and i were fighting in the wastelands and, i i wouldn't fight back and Jewel came closer to me and and she. " Zeke started to breath heavily. he was terrified

"Shhh little one you need sleep" fay says nuzzling him

Zeke looked up at fay the fear still in his eyes he nodded slowly and curled up tucking his head under his tail his fearful eyes slowly drifted shut and he fell into a calm sleep/

Jewel ran until she was in a little clearing

Lilla called to anyone that could hear her in the caves, " Jewel ran away! and i'm looking out for humans! can someone please go help Jewel. no wolf should be alone while humans are around." Lilla let out a yelp of fear thinking of what could happen to Jewel.

Nuka looked up "I can go get her..."

Fay looked at him "no..... she needs to be alone for a minute. Lilla its ok she will be back"

Lilla whined and laid down, "but Fay humans."

Fay came out "lilla jewel knows where the humans are....if she's in danger she knows what to do ok and your little howl can alarm her too..." fay says

Zeke woke the next morning he was shivering and looked around. he had some frighting dreams but none like when JEwel attacked him before he stood up and noticed all the wolves still sleeping even little Lilla who had tried her best to stay up allnight. he didn't see Jewel and it worried him but at the same time he could still feel her fangs digging into his throat. she shuddered and ran out to the river. it was starting to freeze over. he bent down and lapped up some of the water. he looked up at the skies and knew in 3 days it would be time to move out. he turned to go back to the den, but infrount of him a huge Grey hound its eyes fixed on him. Zeke froze and his tail went up. he Glared at the Grey hound. the hound was slinder and had a long face, it looked almost like a fox only 3 times as big as any fox he'd ever seen. Zeke ears laid flat as he stood infrount of the hound. the hounds posture didn't make Zeke think it was agressive but he knew hounds could be tricky. its how there masters trained them.


Jewel leaped in frount of him to protect him "move the pack now......goooo" she growled at the hound and snapped at it making it chase her.

The hound watched in ceriousity. it wasn't fully grown but it appeared so, it suddenly yipped and pawed at Jewel thinking it was play time. "play?" it asked in a puppy tone. "play? i play. i yo-yo" it jumped up and span around and wagged its long thin tail, "play with me? master sleeping. i play"

Jewel looked at the hound "umm ok"

the hound yipped and ran around chasing its tail it sat down it acted just like a little puppy from the pack only it was alot bigger. "i get my toy! dont go. i get my toy we play." the hound ran around then disappeared inthe trees and returned a minute later with a squeeky item he chewed on it and each time he did it let out a loud "SQUEEK!"

"Zeke move the pack today" jewel said while the pup was gone "go now" she says sadly

Jewel started playing with the pup when he came back

Zeke brushed along Jewels side and he licked at her muzzle. "i wont leave you" Zeke's voice wasn't strong but it did still have the love he held for Jewel. he pressed up against her his body was shivering still. the hound wipped the toy around and set it down"see see my master got me toy, said good for me. he says i good boy good yo-yo." the hound picked it up and yawned, "i go home and sleep now i sleepy" the hound left and ventured home.

"Ok yo-yo bye" jewel says as the hound leaves.

"You have to move the pack today...." she says to Zeke

Zeke shivered and turned back to the freezing river and took several long laps of water. Zeke turned back to Jewel. "you mean we have to move the pack today." Zeke corrected her.

"I...im not going" jewel says.

Zeke froze a cool breeze ruffled there fur. Zeke lowered his head. "y-your not coming?" suddenly Zeke felt cold and smaller than he's ever felt. "not.. coming." Zeke turned away from Jewel and slowly walked back to the cave. he was shivering. the blow of Jewel not coming was worse than any dream he had. Zeke sat at the entrence. "Everyone we move out now." his voice was stronger but not by much. he picked up lilla and put her in a fur he carried the fur wrapped up around lilla the others of the pack slowly followed Zeke's lead. the nine wolves that killed the deer put them on there backs and carried them. Zeke passed lilla over to Fay. his head was down. and he moved to the back of the pack as they walked. the snow storm was rolling in.

Jewel sat there crying after he left. Fay handed lilla and came to Zeke "you know nuka can lead us there incase you decide you want to go get her...." fay says then goes back to the front

Zeke stopped at the wasteland boarder, he sat down watching the pack leave taking lilla with them. Zeke laid down. he wasn't going without Jewel. and if Jewel wasn't going. then there was no way Zeke would leave this territory. he'd rather freeze. he curled up and staid were he was. the snow started blowing hard and before to long the pack sent and there foot prints were gone in the snow.

"Why didn't you go" jewel says coming from behind him.

Zeke looked up shivering. "I wont leave you Jewel." Zeke lays his head back down, he was thinking it was the wind playing tricks on him. he would everynow and then hear a soft voice that made him think of Jewel. he curled up the snow around him getting deeper.

"I thought you were scared of me" jewel says. She too shivered. She hadn't been warm all night since she ran.

Zeke let out a whimper, "I was having a bad dream, fay says it what happens when the posion from the oak gets you. " Zeke shivered more he felt his eyes growing heavy. he was fighting off sleep. his winter coat was covered in snow. he continued to try and keep his muzzle out of the snow. the wind blew hard and the snow covered Zeke and for a moment Zeke thought of His father and his mother. Zeke let his eyes close.

Jewel came to him "come lets go" she says and she puts him on her back as best as she could and heads across the ice.

Red had turned and noticed Zeke nor Jewel were behind them he let out a howl. "the stroms is to bad! Zeke wont make it without more fat. he's not behind us. i Fear the storm may take him." -- Lilla let out a whimper of fear and curled into a ball in the warm fur. she was warm and felt alot more safe in it. she let out a shiffled whimper, "Zeke
Jewel."-- Zeke shivered drasticly and when he flet her he woke and looked. "Jewel?"

"Shhhhhh its ok I see the pack" jewel says walking with him on her back. She was walking up to them.

Zeke's body was lighter than it has ever been when Jewel carries him. Zeke's fur was becoming wet with the snow, and his fur was starting to freeze to his skin, -- Red noticed a black spot, "Zeke"

Jewel walks close to red and lifted her head as best she could. She too was cold.

Red took Zeke and put him on his back, he then told Jewel, "stay under me itll block the wind and keep you warmer." Red looked at Zeke, all of the furs were being used already, Zeke was Exposed to the wind and the snow, Red was having a terrible feeling about Zeke. but he pressed on, following the rest of the pack. the storm died down for a few hours which gave the pack time to rest and check on everyone.

Jewel looked around... "alright this is what we will do....I will carry Zeke and stay under someones fur I will watch there feet to keep up. This way Zekes body is warm and he doesn't die. Every break feed him 2 rabbits." She said with athority.

Red nodded he had short fur and he was shivering already but he had put on quite a bit of weight since he joined the pack. he moved Zeke back to Jewel. Zeke's fur was freezing to the touch. his nose was cold, and his ears were flat. against his head. he was freezing.

jewel tore a rabbit up and nudged Zeke "wake up you need to eat this" she says.

Mute sat and blocked the wind from hitting Zeke

Zeke woke but only for a moment, the cold was setting into his bones, he chewed at the rabbit pieces and swolled them before falling back asleep.

Jewel then put him on her back and got under mute to give him warmth over as well as under. "Lets move" she calls out to everyone.

the pack follows her orders and follows Fay and Nuka.  Mute was carring a fur full of rabbits about 10 rabbits fit in the fur he was carring.

Jewel carried Zeke and soon her fur was hot and it warmed hi from the bottom. Mute carring a lot was too beging to warm up warming Zeke on top.

Zeke's eyes opened and he looked around, he let out a small shiver.  but he was warming up he licked Jewel's shoulder, since it was all the further he could reach. the storm lasted for another 5 hours before the wolves had a chance to break.

The pack stoped and huddled together putting the children in the middle. "Zeke wake up time to eat again" jewel says this time she tore two rabbits.

Zeke woke and looked at the rest of the pack none of them were eating and he felt bad being the only one eating. he shivered but he was awake and able to walk from now on. he licked Jewel's face.

"You won't be able to walk the rest im going to carry you....eat you need it" she says licking him

Zeke closed his eyes and ate the rabbits, his body was shivering but he was alive and growing stronger every time they stopped. he lifted his head " everyone now is a good time to rest. what we do is we will dig holes in the snow. dig at an angle and make small dens one each use the furs to line the bottom and keep everyone off of the frozen ground. " Zeke's comand was strong and he wanted to make everyone rest, atleast they had covered there tracks to this point. and that was good enough to keep the humans from coming this far after them.

The pack made 7 wholes for all the families and lined then with the furs everyone got in. Jewel made a seperate one for two and put two rabbit furs in "zeke comeon in here" she says

Zeke walked over to Jewel and wagged his tail

Jewel let him in first her fur looked like snow and could disquise him

Zeke entered the make shift den and laid down. Zeke laid down and waited for Jewel to lay with him

Jewel climbed in after him and laid next to him

Zeke wagged his tail wrapping it around Jewel and licking her face gently as she laid next to him.

Jewel licked him and cuddled closer to him.

Zeke soon fell fast asleep.

Jewel watches and soon falls asleep.

*morning*

Zeke woke first and watched over Jewel as she slept.

Jewel woke up

Zeke smiled at her and licked at her ears. then softly spoke, "i think we can move out now"

Jewel licked him and nodded. She went out and woke everyone up

Zeke came out of the makeshift den, and streched the sun was just rising and it was wonderfully bright. he sat down and turned licking at his wounded side and waiting for everyone to wake.

The pack rose and grabbed their furs. Soon they were ready. Jewel came to him "climb on" she says

Zeke shook his head. "today i will walk."

"Are you sure the wind can be really strong..." Jewel says.

Zeke stood and moved along herside. Zeke licked Jewel. "I can walk as you did with me on your back.I will walk under another wolf."

Jewel nodded and licked him. She walked along side of him blocking the wind.

Zeke walked along for the next 8 days. Zeke was focused on keeping up with the others. but his paws were begaining to crack and bleed, he felt the cold bursts of hair stinging his face as they walked onward. stopping long enough to eat and rest. and that was about all.

Jewel nuzzled him "get on please..." she says as they walk.

Zeke was feeling more alive as he walked. Zeke whispered to Jewel, "I have to try and make it on my own."

Jewel nodded and kept walking. She couldn't feel her feet anymore. The coldness hit like a thousand knives. She tryed to keep up. She fell

Zeke stopped and bent down nuzzling Jewel.

Jewel shivered and stepped forward.

Nuka howled "there it it a mile ahead" he says in his howl

"Jewel come get on my back" Zeke licked Jewel's forehead gently.

Jewel couldn't move her body was frozen. She let out a whimper

Zeke picked her up, he was still scranny but he managed to keep her on his back as he walked, his body had been shivering non stop since they woke.

Jewel whimpered. Here body hurt, her paws hurt and her eyes hurt to open. She fell asleep the rest of the trip.

Zeke had started walking under mute he was shivering

Nuka howled "we are almost there" he says

Zeke staggerd for a moment and fell down with JEwel on his back

Fay came a bundle of pups she was carring. She put Zeke and jewel in there and carried it with no sweat

Zeke shivered and was falling asleep along with JEwel

The pack reached the land and found a cave the make their home. Fay took jewel to a corner and then laid Zeke next to her.

Zeke curled up shivering closer to Jewel, his fur was freezing

Jewel shivered and curled closer to Zeke. Her body heat soon warming him up.

Zeke slept and curled around Jewel his ribs could be seen from the moment anywolf entered the cave.

Nuka came and nuzzle Zeke "hay wake up alpha" he says

Zeke let out a yelp.

"Come on alpha Zeke you need to eat..." nuka says.

Zeke curled into a tighter ball around Jewel the best he could, his breathing was shallow.

"Wake up little ones" fay says to Zeke and jewel

Zeke kept his eyes closed he wasn't able to wake he couldn't stop shivering. and he let out coughs

Fay sniffed him and noticed he sick she sniffed jewel and she was sick to. "Red come here I need your help" she calls to red

Red approched he was shivering he hadn't stopped shivering as of yet.

"Red....do you know how to make a fire" fay asks.

Red shook his head no. "only Humans can."

"I think if we make a fire here it will warm everyone up." Fay says

Red nodded he hadn't really said anything to the old she-wolf since he spoke his mind. and Zeke had jumpped on him.

"I need to gather hurbs lilla want to come" fay says

Lilla nodded she was watching her brother and got up and followed Fay. 

Red left and brought back wood he laid it down and looked at it he wasn't sure how his humans always made fire

Nuka came up "a fire?" he asked red.

Red looked at Nuka and nodded, Red glared at the wood he knew it was to wet to make a fire and laid down shivering

Nuka took two big rocks and put one in the middle. He hit it with the other making sparks and soon a little fire was started.

Red watched. "How do you know how to make  the human's fire? young pup?"

"Ummm I can't say...." nuka says blowing it to make it bigger.

Zeke continued to sleep and shiver though he wasn't awake his mind constantly told him to stay around Jewel, and keep her warm. in his mind the biggest fear he had was loosing Jewel.

Red nodded and sat up. he looked around they still had a good 3 deer left, Zeke had been right on about needing 6 deer for the journy but it was nice to have spare meat when they arrived.

Jewel shivered non stop. She sneezed and coughed


Fay and lilla came back with herbs "wow a fire who did it?" fay asked

Red got up and picked up Jewel first and brought her closer to the fire, when he picked up Jewel, Zeke and let out a yelp of fear but still couldn't bring himself to wake. before Red picked up Zeke to bring to Jewel he replied to Fay "Nuka" Red picked up Zeke and found Zeke wasn't as healthy of a pup as he should have been. Zeke and Jewel should both be fully grown by now but these two were small for there ages, they were nearly a year now.

Jewel curled instantly around Zeke. "My Zeke" she says in her sleep

Fay nodded and tore the herbs "Zeke wake up eat this" she says to zeke

Zeke shivered and pressed his cold nose against Jewel's chest fur. soon he was sound asleep again. the cave seemed to warm up after a while. Zeke still couldn't find the strenth to wake to eat. his body wanted to shut down, but it was his desire and his love that made him hold on.

Jewel opened her eyes and and whispered "zeke...." she couldn't move

Zeke's breathing was calm calmer than it had ever been he had stopped shivering but his nose remained as cold as the night's wind. durring the blizzard.

Jewel slowly lifted her head and ate her herbs. She nuzzled and curled up to Zeke. She touched his nose with hers. Jewels nose was hot.

Red approched the two young wolves and sat down. "Is Zeke alright?" he seemed to be asking Fay more than anyone. his voice seemed to grow older as he looked at the two pups. he turned his head Slip was talking with Nez and wagging his tail.

Zeke's mind was slowly drifting in and out of concesness

"I don't know" fay says concerned.

Lilla came up behind Fay and let out a whimper seeing her brother skinnier than she was, and the fact they were almost the same size now had her frightened

Jewel coughed and nuzzled Zeke "come hun eat the medicine" she says in his ear

Lilla sat down watching and wanting to come up to her brother and lick him.

Zeke moved a slight bit and let out a cough and curled up closer to Jewel his body still felt cold to him. and he wasn't sure if he was alive or if he was dead. the agonising pain of the cold made him wonder constantly

"Come on Zeke eat baby please" jewel says nuzzling him.

Zeke lifted his head and slowly opened his eyes the brightness made him close them again almost instantly, and he coughed and shivered.

Jewel licked his head and fed him the herbs with her mouth so he didn't have to open his eyes

Zeke ate some of the herbs but he was trying to fall back to sleep as he did. his head would bob every now and then as he almost slipped back into a cold sleep

Jewel licke him "little more come on Zeke" jewel says.

Zeke let out a whimper and tried again. he really just wanted to sleep, and he above all else just wanted to sleep next to Jewel. he was cold and tired and didn't want anymore herbs. as it was he felt as though his stomache would regect them and he would puke. but he tried again for Jewel.

Jewel licked him "now sleep" she curled around him and nuzzled him

Zeke didn't have to be told twice he was fast asleep before she even finished the word sleep.

Lilla looked at Jewel and at Zeke she let out a low whimper. Zeke looked like one of the brothers she was born with who had caught a deadly cold after venturing out into the open one late night and wasn't found untill morning. the pup died two hours after being found. lilla's ears were flat against her head and she was scared.

Fay nuzzled lilla "its ok they will be fine"

Lilla sniffled and whined softly, he curled up close to Fays forepaws and half burried her head in Fay's fur half under Fays pit.

Zeke was fast asleep his body had begun to shiver again and he was starting to warm up with the fire and with Jewel at his side.

Slip stood up and walked over to Fay, "we dont need any meat, do you and father mind if i go out and look around our new territory?"

"Take someone with you slip" fay says. "It is important we keep everyone safe"

Slip nodded, "can i Take Nez?"

"Nez is hurt remember...." fay says walking toward her.

Slips ears pull back. then perphaps i can take my younger sister with me?

Nuka comes up "I'll go.... if u don't mind that is" he says.

Slip looks at nuka and nods, "that would be good, I know the sent of humans and of other wolves so i can tell from a distance if they are near here or not."

"Cool" nuka says following

Slip leave the safety of the cave and leads the way into the soft snow fall

Jewel curls up to Zeke.

Zeke shivers still and tries to stay close to Jewel

Jewel wakes up and nuzzles Zeke

Zeke sleeps but its restless

Jewel looks around to see if she can see red or fay. She stands but quickly lays back down. "Ooo"

red comes over and licks Jewel, "its ok young one, what is the matter?"

"I saw my mom in my sleep" jewel says.

Red looks at Jewel and sits down. "you burried your mother Jewel."

"I know but she was scared...." jewel says. "I....umm...I was there when she died....she hid me under a bush" she says as tears formed in her eyes

Red sits down and licks Jewel, "i am sorry young one. my masters use to make us hunt our own kind.

"im sorry red" jewel says. "Do you think my pack is happy?"

Red nodded his head, "they are no longer hunted nor are they afraid of not having enough food." Red licks Jewel's face. "you should sleep more young one."

Jewel curled around Zeke "you think he'll be ok?" she asks red

Red laid down beside bothe Jewel and Zeke. "i think he is just exausted from the journy and has caught a little cold thats all he'll be fine"

Jewels coughed. Then closed her eyes.  "Where is lilla" she asks

Red kept close to the two pups all night. he was warmer than the air around them but his short fur really didn't hold in much heat for him either.

Fay sits in a corner.

Lilla had curled up near fay she was letting out soft whimpers more of worry than anything

Fay licks her for comfort and hums a lullaby so all in the cave can hear.

Lilla curls up closer to Fay leting out fewer whimpers and slowly falls asleep to her lullaby

Nuka follow slip smellin the new territory

Slips looks back at nuka, "i dont smell humans, but other wolves and a few dangerous animals

Nuka nods and follows.

Slips snifs the ground and marks some of the territory (i'm sorry sis)

Nuka purks his ears and is on alart. He sniffs the air and looks around

Slip looks at Nuka, "we should warn the others"

"Yah...." nuka says looking around.

Slip ran back towards the cave

Nuka follows his ears on alart til the get to the cave.

Slips enters the cave

Fay comes to him "what did you find" she says

Slip lets Nuka talk

"Bears and other wolves are around" nuka says letting slip say the rest

there is cougar tracks aswell. and the smell of linx, Pup killers

"Ok everyone listen up seeing there are cougars and linx's around when pups go exploring under 5 months an adult must attend with them" fay says as she goes back to lilla

Lilla looks up at Fay and let out a whimper

Fay licks her "its ok im here" she says.

Lilla curls up and let out a puppy yawn and closes her eyes.

Nez starts to whimper in her sleep.

Slip moves over to Nez and licks her face tenderly. he lays beside her. he lays his head on her back so she can smell who it is.

Nez stops whimpering and opens her eyes.

Slip looked at Nez and wagged his tail -Zeke woke up several hours later after everyone was fast asleep. he gets up slowly and walks out of the cave. he makes it to a bush and goes. he feels a sudden relief.

Jewel woke up coughing. She looked and Zeke wasn't there "Zeke" she says.

Zeke laid down outside and curled up, he wasn't feeling well but the warmth of the fire was causing him to feel worse at this point in time

Jewel came out. She had a mild limp. "Zeke you ok" she ask as she came by his side.

Zeke looked up at Jewel and shook his head no, he felt like he needed to puke but he held it back

Jewel stood over him and nuzzled his back "its ok if you have to throw up I won't tell" she says.

Zeke looked up at Jewel and nodded he laid his head back down and shook a bit.

Jewel smiled and started smelling his fur. "Oh Zeke how I miss you.." She says.

Zeke let his tail wag and he laid down on his side and closed his eyes

Jewel stood over him and nuzzled him she didn't say anything else.

Zeke was soon asleep but as he slept he did puke

Jewel keeps nuzzling his side like she's is cleaning him

Zeke as shaking but to him he didn't feel cold, he was laying in the freezing snow, but still his body seemed over heated to him, he slept a little restlessly, and puked every now and then, the herbs given to him eairlier coming up in his puke.

Jewel licked around his face "zeke please don't die" she whispered in his ear

Zeke let out a whimper

"If you can hear me. I love you and you mean more to me then anything. Please don't die" jewel says in almost a fearfull whisper. "Please get better so we can go home" she says.

Slip came out after noticing the two leave and sits down. "whats going on?"

"He's sick" jewel says keeping her promise not to tell

Slip came over and shook his head when he smells the puke. "lets get him inside."

Jewel picked him up and put him on her back "lead the way" she said getting her balance right

Slip walked into the cave and over to the fire and signaled with his tail for them to lay down

Jewel laid Zeke down slowly careful of him head and all the licked him

Zeke opened his eyes and whimpered. he was still shaking and still freezing to the touch he closed his eyes again slowly

Jewel licked zeke letting her body heat and the fire warm him

Slip pulled his ears flat and red came up looking at both Jewel and Zeke, he too sat down and pulled his ears flat. one of his hounds had grown this ill before and the master had taken him to the vet, and the hound never returned.

"Zeke I love you..." she whispered

Zeke's whimpers become weaker as he feels the cold setting into his bones, his breathing slows.

Red stood up his ears on alert now.

Jewel starts to tear up "please Zeke don't leave me" she says licking his face "you are my strength and love.... when im with you the stars shine brighter and the moon becomes filled with love...." jewel says crying. "You are a fighter like me so fight!"

lilla woke and looked over at Zeke and Jewel she stood up and let out a little yip and ran over and whined, "help him!" she mainly whines but its loud enough to wake the wolves in the cave.

Fay was sitting there "lilla dear remember when jewel needed will? Well Zeke needs it now so sit with jewel" she says.

Lilla sat next to Jewel and whined at Zeke, she then looked up at Jewel, she was crying and she leaned into Jewel and whined.

Jewel was spilling her heart in his ear "zeke I will never leave you just don't leave me" Jewel kept her focus on Zeke.

Zeke let out a really faint whimper, he was still breathing and was trying to get warm for the moment.

Lilla moved over and laid down laying her head along his neck and whimpered whining.

"Lilla give him some will hun" fay says as she watched.

Fay looked at Red "Is it different?" fay asked him

Lilla whined and whimpered louder, "Zeke please wake up"

Red's ears didn't go off of alert but they twitched and he ignored Fay, He had seen many of his hounds die but this... this cold that Zeke had he'd never seen other than in the one hound that never returned. and if humans couldn't help how could wolves.

"Slip nuka.... find a weeping willow tree and ask if we can bring a sick pup to it and hurry..." fay demanded.

Slip nodded. and stood up he turned and ran out. Lilla whined and let out whimpers of fears.

Nuka looked at slip "let me ask you.... do you know how to ask a weeping willow permission" he says.

Jewel nuzzled lilla "little one tell him now" she said

"you do so the same you would with an alpha" says Slip. Lilla let out whimper and taked again to Zeke, "come on brother wake up."

"That's what you think weeping willows can be mean....." nuka says and then howls to the trees. The wind blows in the direction of a willow tree. "This way..." he says running faster.

Slip follows Nuka and sets at the same pase.

Jewel stood over Zeke as in to protect him.

Nuka sees the willow tree and slows down howling and whimpering

Zekes eyes flicker open barely and he tries to lick at Jewel but he ends up puking his stomach compleately empty, so its just the juice from his stomach.

The tree moves its vines so they can come in

"Shhhh" nuka says as he creeps in.

Slips enters his tail lowered and his ears flat in a submissive way


The wind in the weeping willow whistle and both slip and nuka heard the word "many greets."

Nuka said it back.

so does Slip, Zeke starts to Gasp for breath.

The weeping willow approves and soon nuka and slip walk in "the willow says ok" nuka says.

Fay looked at Red "carry him and follow nuka and slip. She goes to jewel and picks lilla up.

Lilla whined and red picked up Zeke, Zeke being picked up let out a

a long breath, and then stopped breathing

"Jewel keep taking to him" fay demanded....

Jewel came to Zekes ear "baby come on breath we are going home now" her voice scared.

Lilla let out whimper. Zeke lay limp, Red ran as fast as he could following the sent of Slip and Nuka

At the willow fay put lilla down outside "put him inside and jewel too the willow will know what to do" she says to red

Red nodded and entered laying Zeke down Zeke's limp body un moving

Jewel laid next to him and was scared. The wind started to whisper in Zekes ear a song "come now my child... please wake up for me... I am a willow you safe now with thee" all the animals came out and sang the song too.

Fay lilla slip nuka and red where outside.

Fay watched the tree the outside wind was still

lilla whimpers looking up at Fay

Fay nuzzled "its ok lilla..." she says unsure.

Jewel grew scared "zeke please wake up"

Zeke's breathing slowly return but it was faint

"We give you life and you will see... amazing ceatures among thee..." the song says. The banchs whistle and start glowing healing him slowly
