Trapped in time,
wrapped by memories
that won’t let go,
we became rooted
branching out in different directions,
still twisted as one
always connected
by the trunk of temptations.
New growth knotted
strangled by vines vanishing
into a void of vapor;
kindling of kerosene kisses
ready to burst into flame
as we hurl towards the heavens
in an attempt to survive
the mutation of magic
planted by first kiss.
