The Meeting

She could tell that the thing was watching her but she couldn't see its face. A cloaked figure shrouded in darkness, watching her. She knew why everyone fled from her. She knew she was ugly that didn't bother her, but this black shrouded thing, it unnerved her. She called out to it, "Wait! Don't leave, tell me what you want!" but it didn't listen to her it just turned around and walked through another door. She was starting to get angry. She stomped through the door determined to find out whatever she could about this mysterious figure. It was standing there in an empty room and as she watched it began to grow. It kept growing until it was the size of an average man. She was completely confused by all of this, but she walked forward. "Please," she whispered "don't leave. Just stay, please." It nodded slowly seeming defeated. She walked forward terrified and yet eager to learn the truth. She was finally close enough to reach out and touch it. It didn't shrink back but stepped forward instead. "Who are you?" she whispered reaching her hand towards the hood of its cloak. It grabbed her hand but it wasn't rough it was so gentle it was like an Angel's touch. The figure bowed it's head and then it spoke "You should ask me what I am." That voice, it seemed familiar to her. So beautiful and wonderful that she was sure that she had heard it in a dream. "No," she said "I don't care what you are. I want to know who you are." The figure wrapped her in a warm embrace and then stepped back again. It was so fast she wondered if it had even happened at all. She blinked there was the strongest sense of familiarity in the air. "Are you going to answer me?" she asked, but the figure just shook it's head. "Fine, I guess I'll just have to see for myself." she said as she reached for the cloak. "Wait!" the figure whispered "First, I want you to promise me that you won't hold back. Whatever you need to do. I want you to do it. No matter what." She nodded "I promise." and once again she reached for the cloak. Her hands trembled as she unpinned it and then she pulled it off. The gasp escaped before she could stop it. "Bryan" she whispered before darkness swallowed her.
