Goddess Moon,
Constantly faced on the dark side of the earth.
Loving earth so much she swoons,
She wishes to steal her husband's light and berth.
So small, her eyes can only cast the smallest gleam,
In eternal cycle she is betrothed,
Never able to best her husband to gain his beam,
Never will she be able to fully see the earth, her love.
One day, she dains to speak to her husband the sun,
why couldn't she have all the light in the sky?
He looked and told her, she was cold for sun,
Even with all the light, everyone below would die,
Evolution isn't fast enough for her to rule.
She's caught in an ecliptic orbit,
lost in darkness' meager worth;
lonesome feelings cloud her hours
spinning 'round her baby earth.
Eternal yearnings for a glimpse
upon the Earth's tender crust,
shattered daily by the sudden
creeping of a starry thrust.
Her movements fluid, like the gale
of a maelstrom, swiftly coming 'round
Her tears they fly, no love to find,
No love for her, nature's law she's bound.
She whispers to her husband the sun,
"Little light for me, I guess you've won."
