All she ever wanted to be was pretty, and popular.
She sits home alone all day every day,
Envying the pretty girls,
The ones who walk done the beach with their boyfriends.
The ones in a bikini top and plaid shorts.
But she somehow knew she would never get there.
If it were up to her,
He would think she was special.
If it were all up to her,
Snowy days really would be a winter wonderland,
Instead of just a day
that she couldn't unbury her car from all the snow.
Instead of just a day that the little kids
Hit her with snowballs as she walked to school.
And if it were up to her,
There wouldn't be a tear frozen to her cheek.
Lost in a day-dream,
She imagines herself happily married.
With a saphire ring on her finger.
She imagines a Valentine's day where she's not alone.
Finally one where her heart isn't broken
By the one she loves.
This year is different from all the rest,
This time she isn't the one without a beautiful rose...
from him.
The sweet smell of perfect perfume
comes off of a pretty girl.
She wakes up from her day-dream
To see a wilted rose
on the table in front of her.
