he whispered goodbye
in her ear as tears fell
down to her lips,
which he wiped away
with their last kiss
and that was it
his eyes screamed
his affection for her
his little darling,
his little girl
daddy gave her
one last hug goodbye
and he was gone
mother and daughter
waited and waited
for their man to come home
they waited and waited
mother lost hope
after days went by
the girl just smiled
and said at least
we'll see him
when we die
if daddy's gone
i still have you
and i don't mind
if daddy's in heaven
he'll be just fine
the mother hugged
her little girl tight
she said, baby
i think your right.
i'll always be here
for you my girl
i'll always have time
for you my girl
i'll alway love
you my girl
her daughter
cried in her arms
and said
i love you too mommy
i love you too
the mother just held
on to her little girl
and thought
about the new life
she'll bring
into the world
God, took him away
and gave her a son to love.
every end is a new beginning
even in death, there is hope
