Lilith of Raun

There's a fairy
living under my bed
she comes out to play
when the day goes dead
she wears royal blue,
shoes fit for a queen,
covered in Satphires,
and their as small as beads.
Her wings are no bigger than a butterfly's
and her eyes glow when she lies.
Did I mention her name was Lilith of Ruan?
She's from a distant star and is here on vacation
and took the moonlight as her form of transportation.
She said she's looking to blow off a little fustration.
In my dreams she comes to play with me
in the daytime she often sleeps
She tells me of her family and friends,
her stories seem to never end.
You can tell when she's been around
for instance
when she gets bored things can hardly be found.
When angry her hair turns into flames of red,
and the rain clouds move in bringing dread.
Sometimes she can be just plain rude,
that fairy sure can ruin a good mood.
But what can I say?
I was the one who invited her to stay.
She lookes so tired and depressed,
she really needed this vacation and some rest.
Besides she's only here for the summer.
Fall, Winter, and Spring will be such a bummer.
She calls me her new best friend,
and promises to visit me in Spring's end.
So until she returns I'll keep the memories of her dancing in my head
Lilith of Raun, the fairy that lived under my bed.

A poem for my niece. I miss the little devil.
